  1. But are these the same? http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_541&products_id=3097&osCsid=9ipb668607h4vnmfprtg0uu7t1
  2. Yeah that's what I figured. Just came across the break brace too, it had a choice for LH or RH. should of answered my question there. everything with out the option will fit.
  3. Cheers Paul, I figured the bits on opposite sides would be different. just wanted to make sure on the rest.
  4. Do all US engine parts still fit on a UK car, or more specifically Left hand drive cars and right hand drive cars? I'm looking at getting some parts from Z1, head gasket kit, and silicone hoses and such. but just thought I'd better check if everything is in the same place, connections to the heater matrix etc.
  5. And my knock sensor has never worked as long as I've had the car. I put the resistor in to clear the fault code and it's remained ever since. didn't really see the point in changing it.
  6. Sorry bud completely missed your reply. I've seen the PCV kits, would you recommend changing the valves too? And how about the IAA? is that worth changing too? As far as the coolant hose, that will be a doddle to get, and as for the boost hose, I was thinking (I know it's been cheap) but just buying from ebay, but has anyone had any problems with quality of random ebay silicone? As for the formed hoses, I know it's cheaper buying from Z1, providing they're willing to label as product sample or something similar to avoid customs. but I also feel bad for not using zedcentre. And the egr I believe JeffTT already did the fold and weld method on the tube, so don't think I need to do that. So is it just the two holes on the intake to fill? does the valve itself not need blanking off at all? The rocker gasket was definitely going to be changed, I know that's leaking, but I haven't decided weather the head gasket has gone yet, so I was going to get that in a set if needs be.
  7. Yeah I'd seen the zcentre one, but thought there maybe somewhere cheaper. Was probably guna get this one http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=540&category_id=14&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 for the bypass, and I've already got the radiator and front water pipes. just not sure what else I needed. As for the egr delete, has anyone made their own?
  8. As title suggests I'm after replacing coolant hoses and boost hoses when my plenum comes off, preferably red one's but not a must. Anybody that's done this care to share their experience? what size do I need to buy and where is best. Also going to delete the egr system so where's best to get a kit from for that? Any help appreciated
  9. Looking good bud, stance looks spot on
  10. Looks class Andy, giving me some idea's for mine. For the powder coating, did you have to take screws to put in the holes so the threads didn't get filled up? And did you have to cover the gasket faces?
  11. That looks really nice too, is the rocker cover black? can't quite tell...
  12. That's a similar theme as to what I was guna do, just red instead of orange, and probably a red balance bar, what colour is your throttle cover? Looks really shiny though, is it polished or powder coated? or some other wizardry?
  13. That's flawless  Looks like some serious work there, I really like the grey plenum, I may well do something similar, try and get it as close to the car colour as I can. And that Is a really nice idea, wondered where it had gotten too.
  14. Looks good rolandas, very clean. Thought there would of been more of a response though, normally don't have to beg for people to get there photo's out.
  15. that is a bit different, what did you use? is it just paint?
  16. Going to start the plans to get the Zed back on the road, still haven't decided if the head needs to come off yet, but the plenum does to fix the water leak. so seen as though it's coming off, it's not gunna go back on the same. but struggling to decide what to do with it, The obvious choice would be to polish it, or even powder coat it chrome, but I'm worried it would be a Tw*t to keep clean. So I've thought maybe a nice black, grey or even a red. along with a contrasting rocker cover and throttle cover, and maybe timing belt cover. But can't decide, need some inspiration. So what have you got? Not even after similar colours to what would match mine, but just on colour schemes as a whole, I remember Groovers looking beautiful, although a yellow would look out of place on mine, maybe the same style just with different colours. if you get what I mean, so get your pics out...
  17. WOW, so gutted I missed today. some truly spectacular cars there.
  18. Unfortunately not bud. been busy working. may get some time to have a look over the weekend.
  19. Well I'm taking that as reassurance, but I am only talking a couple of seconds and then it sound's sweet again. when I get some normality back in my working pattern i'll get my teeth back into it and get some definite diagnostics done. although I'm struggling to think what else other than trying for the cylinder leak test again. I don't like to say never, but I'm pretty confident in a rebuild instead of replacement, the millage if genuine is to low for me to swap it out, and if I'm prepared to just rebuilding it, atleast if things go wrong thereafter I know it'll be something I've (or my team) done and not inheriting other problems. My mate is rebuilding a ca18det from an S13 at the minute, it's in bits on his drive, so I'm letting them get practice on that before ripping mine apart. To keep costs down through friends of friends we've managed to find somebody to rebuild turbo's, I can get the heads skimmed at work for nothing, so it's just the gasket kit, hoses, and whatever else is going to be a good investment. I also figure if I do it myself I can make it look pretty, maybe relocate some things, remove others, and clean, polish. powder coat and paint so that the engine bay looks as clean as the bonnet. However anything could happen between here and there, so as I said, never say never. And still this is all a worse case scenario, it may not need something as extreme as that....
  20. Ok so been in the Dominican for a couple of weeks so haven't had chance to do anything with the zed, but one thing I have noticed is when it's first started up it sound like it's misfiring now, but only for a couple of seconds then it settles out, I'm guessing water in the cylinder... haven't had chance to whip the plug out yet but i'll get round to it. Guessing that would be the nail in the coffin though for the head gasket????
  21. Well when it's running it behaves sound, since changing the rad I could give it a good boost and all would be fine, it was only after knocking it off and listening at the rad that you'd know anything was up. Until of course it pissed out all the water. The block tester was what my mate brought home from work, that's all that was in the box with a bottle of the fluid. Said it would turn one colour for petrol and another for diesel. I thought it looked the same as the one vodkashots posted a link to. I could give a cylinder leak test another go, but we couldn't get the piston in the right position. Anything else I could try?
  22. tried it a few times, from cold and when warm... I figured it could be on it's way out, hence when it was warm the compression test was fine too, but as I've been taking it for little drives it's been getting progressively worse..
  23. yeah it did, that's the annoying thing.
