  1. This week I have been ... replacing the rear arches on my eldest daughter's Metro. Well Its a Rover 100 actually . I know!! I know!! you can laugh:D Its taken me a couple of days and is a fiddly job indeed. first I cut out the rust and filler. Then bought new arch repair panels. One off ebay for £3 and the other from my local panel man for £14. IF only 300Zx arches were that price!!! then I trimmed the panel to fit tucking it inside the existing arch and spot welded it in place. I had to use some other curved arch sections to cut and shape for the inner arch to ensure the strength was maintained . This was a real PITA and took ages. Then a skim of filler to smooth everything off and repaint. Im pleased with the result and Leanne is too. I didnt mind doing it really as she is a hard working girl and I am immensely proud of her.and it has made a refreshing change from working on Zeds Next on the list is to fit the 1.4 Twin cam GTI engine she has bought for it.;) Check out the pics LOL
  2. :nana2::nana2::nana2: Yep! Bring it on!:D
  3. Yep Andy is about right. expect to run mid 14s. However you will only get 3 runs for your fee on Show days so no room for any errors, fluffed starts etc.:slap: And get there early to sign on if you want to get three runs in during the morning.:D Bring it on!!!!! If you line up with me and are on form you should run a little quicker than me. However I will do you off the line in my NA;)
  4. Yep its been on a couple of times and is overpriced. Im in Fuengirola for 10 days at the end of the month so I might see it around!! BTW I bet its on Mijas Costa somewhere rather than up in the old village.
  5. LOL! It might have been something to do with the speed of the homeward convoy??? Im surprised the Astra didnt expire as well. You could here the tappets or summat as you passed it. That square black box on wheels that was traveling with us wasnt slow either:eek:
  6. Bout 7.00am I reckon. No good being late at da Pod cos you end up queuing for ages to get in.:headvswal So no long lie again!
  7. Well me of course. I will be down early Sunday to get signed on for a trip up the Black stuff:hyper:
  8. Exactamente! Might be time to remove the fuel pump fuse when you are not using the car too!
  9. Thank fook for that!! No more calls then! :D:D:D
  10. On a factual note... this is a club made up of paying members. We are referred to as "subscribed members" in our avatar. This issue was democratically voted on by the members and seems to have worked well ever since it was started.IMO. Registered users are not club members and do not have any say in the running of this club. That is down to the committee and the members. I dont see any need to provide anyone from out side the club with any sort of service at all whether they own a 300Zx or a Ford Fiesta. QUOTE....Maybe we should have a new section open to all for valuations. End Quote. "We"??????
  11. Of course you did:rolleyes: You were just checking! Right?? Like to confirm you knew ?:rofl::rofl:
  12. :nono::nono::nono: FFS stop worrying. Its the join where the outer cover sill overlaps the main outer sill. Just as Nissan intended:rolleyes: :D:D:D
  13. Its not the end of your car............................................yet! but you do need to do something about it now. Get a twist knot wire cup brush into the angle grinder and strip both sills back to bare metal (or holes)!!! Then you will see the extent of the problem. you will need to cut out the rusty metal and weld in some new stuff. When you cut open the outer cover -sill you will then be able to see how far in to the inner sills the rot has spread.. Failing that I will take it off your hands for £500:rolleyes: Gimme a call when you stop crying if you want:wack:
  14. Google is your friend:cool:
  15. OOOOH! you will look good in black leatherette:eek: What are you making?? Trousers?? jacket???:wack: :D:D:D
  16. Are you running?? Or just watching???
  17. IMO ... deep down inside I reckon you like them stickers:rolleyes: Chavtastic:smash:
  18. well lets be truthful Richard ... Your Red NA is one of the best looking 300Zxs in Britain:bow: IMO of course ... having seen it personally
  19. And after some serious discusion with Ceejay today we jointly would like to remind all those traveling down in this convoy to be aware of the potential for attracting unwanted attention from the flashing blue light brigade.:nono: So .... please just fall in to line behind Ceejay on the way down . He is leading the trip at a sensible speed. You wont get in to the show until Chris arrives anyway and goes to get our tickets. If you want to act like a dickhead and go side by side motorway racing etc at highly illegal speeds just wait until you are leaving the show on your way home:eek:
  20. Sunday 15th is Super Car Sunday and Sun22 is Jap show at the Pod. Ditto wot Ceejay says about Ashby Folville ... Its great if you live nearby but for us Nottingham crew its an awkward journey and a nightmare arriving at the show if you are a little late.
  21. Eagle rods from Z1 are $545 on their own + shipping and taxes So worst case scenario with $150 shippping and full tax + handling would make them £400 to £450.
  22. As Far As Im Concerned. Its one step less certain!:)
  23. On many early UK zeds it is somewhere between serious and terminal. Many have already been scrapped due to serious rust + the high cost of repairing. In general imported cars are a better bet, but beware of imports that have been here since 1999/2000/ They too have been exposed to salted roads for 8 years. Of course there are pristine UK examples hidden away in peoples garages some of whom are on this forum:) and there are odd rusty imports too.
  24. AFAIC they are virtually identical.
