Respray quality
Well Here is my piece on the subject.... My number 2 daughter has a W plate Punto(bought by Dad of course as she is a poor student) She herself had a small knock/scrape on the rear RHS door. Then my mate damaged the drivers door while removing the engine!!!(Dont ask how) He offered to have it fixed obviously at his cost. So we combined both bits of damage (all on RHS) and had a local bodyshop do the repair. Car was duly filled and painted(its graphite grey pearlish colour) You cannot see which panels he has done and which are still original. And another tale..... When I were a lad I had a Ford Sierra Cosworth in Moonstone. Some scrotes stole it and it was recovered with screwdrivered door both sides and bald tyres. It was fixed under insurance by a local Ford dealer. When I dropped the car off at the Dealer I asked to speak to the body shop manager. I told him... If I can see which panels you have painted then I wont accept it back. He said... it will take a couple of weeks to get it done... and so it was. Impossible to see where he had painted. I needed to feel round behind each panel to tell where he had masked off.

JAE this weekend
Drag racing only for me! I hope you all enjoy JAE but for me the thought of two days at a static car show just doesnt appeal.

The Future is Bright....
Its Automotive paint. ;) Its Ford Electric Orange by its proper title. often referred to as Focus hooligan orange;) I was originally looking at a 2 colour scheme which involved proper "candy" paint. However I needed help in spraying the ink which is now not forthcoming:cry: So today I spent some time at the Motor factors deciding on a new scheme with their help And this was the result! Its still a 2 colour scheme with the orange on top part. Its a three stage paint system which I have never done before similar to the "candy" system. The important difference is in the second part where this has a coloured pearl as opposed to the translucent ink of the candy system. Im still not 100% sure I can hack it but Im giving it a go anyway. After prepping the shell in 2K primer and flatting it all back with 800 grit the process is.... 1. Orange basecoat... three separate coats. then straight to .. 2. Pearl orange/yellow basecoat.. three separate coats. Then on to... 3. 2K clear coat. Three full coats. Job done. flat back with 1500 and mop with G3 liquid Wish me luck!! Them two 500ml pots seat me back £40;) I dont wanna waste it!! LOL!

Well beyond use Taff. Yaseen or me binned them a couple of years ago. The shell was banana shaped. LHS was about 1" shorter than the RHS:shock: All pulled straight tho:)

Bye Bye Roof Trims!!
Yaseen had a lampost attack him while he was driving it!!! But I had a very clever bloke pull it straight again, with some bits from another shell stitched in.;)

Z1 Motorsports. Good Service.
Bag with puke in it is the oil pump:rofl:. also new water pump, tensioner and both idler pulleys + a few seals.:) Just over $800 with shipping. Makes me laugh when people get quoted £1600 or thereabouts to re build an engine. Ive spent more than that on parts WITHOUT any labour:(

Z1 Motorsports. Good Service.

Order placed on line Thurs night 21st Aug. Order received Tues 26th Aug 10.30Am Well pleased. Fedex Int economy. :):):) I have bought items from nearly all our Subscribed traders and will continue to do so but sometimes it is necessary or cheaper and quicker to import direct. Fedex normally send the customs demand after delivery so I will just need to wait and see how much it is. ;)

New Satin Boot Install
Lightweight all in one heater blower unit, dash and instrument pods, my Cobra Monaco seat and harness.A sunvisor and a Fairlady mat(just one) Err ... thats it I think. :hyper:All black of course:bow:
-
please help
DO NOT buy this car without doing a full compression test. A rebuild on a fooked engine will probably cost more than what you are paying for the car. It may not be a compression problem but.........

New Satin Boot Install
No time to be sniffing it Daz I have just been spraying more of it on. I have got rid of every last square inch of that cursed sound deadening crap. What a nightmare:headvswal Now the whole interior is satin black. Its funny stuff really ... when its freshly sprayed it had more shine to it than I really wanted but after 24 hours it seems to dull down a bit. Now I can get on with my custom heater install next as I have junked all the original Nissan system in favour of a lighter simpler system. Watch this space.:hyper:
