Lowering springs/coil over advise, please
Parked on your drive they will look fine.:glare: however if you drive over a small crest/hump at any speed at all then virually all the weight comes off the suspension for a second. As they are unsecured that might allow the springs to unseat............ and you wont know till its too late.:helpsmilie: Probably OK for our friends across the big pond who drive on smooth freeways at 55mph and dont have MOTs:yes:

intermittant cylinder loss
You say you have changed the engine loom?? did you have the missfiring problem with the old loom?? Have you checked the injector signal when the problem is occuring?? Ie used a noid light?? Is the spark plug firing on that cylinder when you have the missfire?? Ie have you removed it, earthed it and checked for a spark?? As already mentioned a compression test would maybe be helpful. But once again the hot test needs to be when the problem is occurring. Have you had the injector tested for spray pattern??? the internal combustion engine is quite simple in concept. You need fuel. a spark and compression..... the tricky bit is getting them all at the correct time and in the correct quantity and quality.

Pistonheads Z
Unusually wise words from our man in Tel Aviv/Bradford;) I would avoid buying anything that has been in the UK for more than3/4 years. So that rules out all UK cars and all early imports.

The price of sat navs
http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/8009a52a#/8009a52a/1 check it out. Im sure it doesnt have the same facilities as those costing £200. But it will have a years manufacturer warranty. UK only map I guess . And if it gets nicked then its not the end of the world. Ideal I reckon for those who only use one occasionally.

LOL!!! What worries me about that scenario is the fact that I lived down Essex way in the seventies(next door in Suffolk) and blokes did drive their trannies around with the door open:scared:

But it will still need to be done on a jig with measuring facilities. Or you might end up with the new leg out of line with the rest. If the chassis leg is visually bent then the shell may be bent elsewhere not readily visible. A quick DIY cut N shut wont neccessarily fix it.

NA manual box > TT flywheel.
Purely for Information. For those who are using an NA box as part of a manwell conversion on a TT. Might also be relevant to anyone with a highly modded NA engine. switching to a TT clutch might be easier than getting a big power NA clutch. Apart from doing it to make this thread the box I have done will be for sale as part of a manual conversion early next year as I have a fully rebuilt TT box waiting to go in my NA street n strip car with a TT Fidanza TT light fly + RPS Street Max clutch. Im currently on steroids to get my leg muscles up to strength to operate it as I dont plan on using the girlie TT booster box.

NA manual box > TT flywheel.
The NA box does not normally fit over a TT flywheel. It catches on the ring gear teeth. It needs a little metal removing inside the bellhousing. Check out the pic to see where. Between the red marks in the area marked with a wavy line. Not much needed. Once you have done bolt up for a trial fit and turn engine over BY HAND and check there are no nasty noises on tight spots!! See pic sharp eyed people might spot the modded NA water pipes too. Job Done:cool2:

Can you not get it pulled staight on a dozer. or a proper jig??? IMO that will be easier/cheaper than re shelling. My slicktop project car which is now nearing completion started out as a quite badly bent shell
