  1. Well you are not the only person that has received a reduced value shipment from Z1 It is a double edge sword tho as already mentioned. Im just curious??? Its illegal to under declare stuff... So................... Do our suppliers in the USA do it to "help" us????:w00t: or do they do it to mitigate any potential claims later??? I find its quite common from power sellers in the US on Ebay. Wot U reckon then????
  2. LOL!! It was phutumshs request I was replying to.
  3. Well the debate just goes on:thumbup1: If you want one then I have one. PM me if interested.
  4. Same here. Probably Zedless but will turn up .
  5. Another day.... and a few more jobs done. Fitted Stillen front sway bar completre with new bushes. Fitted new urethane steering rack bushes. Fitted new adjustable tension rods. Started cleaning up in engine bay. Removed NA wirhing loom . What a PITA getting that outta the bulkhead. Good job Dan is putting the TT stuff in!! Next to do..... Fit adjustable top arms. I have urethane bushes for bottom arms but might leave that for Dan to do. Need to get rid of the big ugly clutch bleeding pipe so I will make up a short new hard pipe and then we can go braided on the last part.. The battery has caused some corrosion on the tray and underneath it so I need to sort that. I might remove the tray to get paint properly under it. Drill the spot welds then just bolt it Back. Thats about all for the fun stuff. This weekend I will be underneath doing waxoyl and stuff. Couple of pics from today.......
  6. Well its been a long day and I am beginning to think at 63 that I am getting a bit old for this engine and box removal game.:wheelchair: However its done! So now I have a rolling shell. an engine sat in front of it and various other bits n bobs lying everywhere. Everything has gone well and I have not found any hidden nasties. Nearly all the stuff I have removed needs to be got rid of. There is a lot of cleaning/detailing to do in the engine bay and also pipes n bits still to remove. Here are a few pics for those following the project.... Enjoy:cool3:
  7. Well it would look odd without one:hammer:
  8. Well with Bob safely out of the way down south it was time today to make a start!! Only had a few hours available so I compression checked the engine before pulling the plug on it. 175 to 185 PSI across all 6 on a cold engine that hasnt been used in weeks was very re assuring. It starts first time with no follower ticking and no smoke. Smooth n quiet. I have stripped out the rear hatchback area so I can get to the suspension tops! At the front end i took the bumper off. everything is rust free and damage free.(apart from the one little split in the front bumper I already knew about. doesnt matter as Bob is having a new front end fitted. I will let him tell you what it will be. Meanwhile I will be getting that engine n box outta there. We should be able to start a for sale thread soon with all the bits not needed like rad. aircon. Maf. PTU. Engine Box prop BBS wheels exhaust. Stock TT brakes some stock suspension etc etc. Please just wait till the for sale thread. No requests now and no dibs as this is not the for sale section. Same thing applies to PMs. More progress this week:thumbup1:
  9. Yep! Same thing from me too.:thumbup1:
  10. I now have Bob's car!! i will be starting to strip it on Monday you could even pop up tomorrow and "try before you buy". If you do then dont tell Bob that we are going out in his mota or Im in trouble:hang::2guns::chris:
  11. i have replied now. You dont have a PM problem I dont hate your guts .
  12. Well I had a visit from Bob today so I got his car out of storage so he could look it over. Here are a few pics for those who are interested. Its a completely stock unmolested 95 Version S NA man slicktop. IMO it is the perfect base for a high power road and track car. Its a fresh import and is clean and rustfree everywhere. It came from a Nissan dealer in Japan and not an auction. It appears to have been main dealer serviced there too, judging by the stickers. Bob has left me a huge pile of new goodies to fit but first I need to remove all the stuff Bob doesnt need. Watch out for a big "For Sale" List soon. It is Pearl white and dirty!!. It was a bit dull too so pics dont look to exciting. Enjoy.....
  13. LOL!!! I have just fetched the (hopefully) 200mph slicktop outta storage this morning cos Bob is on his way up today. I think the carbon panels will look good on your car and should hide that crease. I was thinking about some for my project slicktop.... but I might see if I can get some done a bit cheaper:blink: BTW can you post the catches n screws back yesterday???:thumbup1:
  14. Wot Dave sez!! Go manual.!!! Once I start taking Bobgenie's project car to bits he will have a manual conversion kit available for sale. He just doesnt know it yet!!
  15. No you cant. FACT. The pillar is an integral part of the steel door. If it had been that simple to do I would have done it ages ago when I first got the car. It came like that from Japan I believe. The hard Stick on carbon panels being offered in the goup buy will cover it. If it bugs you that much I do have a spare door that I bought at one time.
  16. Its called fix a flat for a reason.... it (might ) fix a flat tyre.. PROVIDED the problem is a small hole/nail in the tyre tread. It wont fix a side wall puncture cos it is only on the inner tread area due to the force of gravity/centrifugal force of the rotating wheel/tyre combo. So likewise the stuff has no chance of reaching the wheel itself.:chinese:
  17. Im sure if you just think about it yourself for a minute you will come to the correct answer yourself. If you need a clue then the word in the answer only has 2 letters.
  18. Fitting not included. Its very straightforward. What you need to keep in mind tho is once fitted The ECU will need setting up on a rolling road. At the moment all we have is a base map for an NA. It starts the car and runs/revs in my garage. I will probably trailer the car to Emerald to get it set up. John has no data at present for a TT set up but this is something he is looking in to. Once it is installed on one TT and mapped it will be easier for others.
  19. And similarly on my NA. There is room either side of my Koyo rad to get through from the engine bay. So I should be able to run virtually straight inlet tracts from twin filters right up to the throttle bodies instead of going thru the T piece and round the houses under the headlights.
  20. Yep! Get it properly plastic welded. Do it once and do it right.
  21. And Me too. I have known about him for years. i recently was present at a mapping session in his Rolling road room. Top bloke:bow::bow: im not sure whether to go and get this stock engine mapped or get on with fitting my new uprated engine and then go for a mapping session.:cool2:
  22. well Im a bit biased but IMO Emerald is a good way forward. Check out the Emerald web site for a run down of what the system does. Im not good at lap tops and diagnostics but I can see lots of useful features/checks which even I might be able to cope with. Switchable maps(3) just toggle the switch. Full throttle shifting. Launch control etc etc Alter mixture, timing idle etc . I know john is keen to get a TT set up organixed next. Give him a call
  23. Emerald stand alone engine management system on a Z32 is now a viable and working reality. All due to some research and experience by John Dixon following on from his successful installation of an Emerald system on his Nissan V8 engine. This also stems from my desire to move away from older generation fixed map ECUs and the neccessity of new chips with everything. So I bought all the gear with johns technical advice. John has made an adaptor loom which allows the use of the stock loom and ECU plug. He has also modified the Crank angle sensor(CAS) unit to accept a modified disc to allow the Emerald ECU to read it. Today was test n try day! First of all John helped identfy a couple of issues with the old stock loom/connectors which was stopping the engine firing. Once all was well on Nissan ECU we swapped over to the Emerald. Almost immediatley it fired up:thumbup1: on a base map supplied. John then spent some time getting things running evenly and by 3 0clock today we had a fully running NA engine controlled by Emerald management. I helped by making lots of coffee and bacon butties:lol: To say I am happy is todays understatement.:nana2: I will post up some pics when I tidy up the install. No more MAFs for me!!!! So its a huge thanks to John for a top job.:bow: Soon we hope to be able to market this as a true plug n play system. I now have two choices. Get the stock engine fully mapped at Emerald on Dave Walkers rolling road and get the car finished and MOTd or proceed to install the new high power engine first and then get it mapped,MOTd etc
  24. Well Im getting the Slicktop on the Mon 2 aug I think. So it will be all systems go then!
