  1. Yep it's a Formula. I'm gonna reserve judgement on my cowl good until I've got the car and fitted the new front. Sure someone out there would straight swap me a formula hood if I wanted (already considered this)
  2. Haha. You missed the rear lights and bumper too! I've already looked into getting a small rear screen in and changing the rear panel, so it's a possibility for the future.
  3. ... And I don't actually mind the grille on the 74-76 models. But the bumper is ghastly!
  4. Haha yeah I have noticed that... But you're going the wrong way in your front end guesstimations! I've got a '73 front to go on :D
  5. Thanks for the comments guys... Al - it was always my intention to swap the front and I'm building the car for me to keep potentially forever so I want to make it how I want it :) interested to know what you mean about it coming back to haunt me..?! Steve - its my least favourite too but the whole car will transform over the winter and come the next show season it'll look a completely different car. And what's really exciting.... Next year it qualifies for free road tax :tt2:
  6. I've been lusting after a classic car for some time now. A couple of cars were on my short list - the first being a Datsun 240z/260z/280z or some sort of american muscle car. Well after a 4 month wait my new car is nearly here - it's sat in a warehouse in Felixstowe and will be with me Tuesday hopefully! It's a 1976 Pontiac Firebird, 5.7 V8 and been modified for street/strip as shown in the pics. Got plenty of plans for it including a completely different front end which I've already got. Can't wait to get it here and get started on it. Don't worry the twin turbo Z isn't going anywhere
  7. Best spelling of girl I've seen all week
  8. For £500 I'll go round and nick them for you!
  9. Look forward to the pics now it's here. My firebird arrives next week :)
  10. Great looking Z! Looks lots better with the new rear lights! And Andy looks better in the picture than when I last saw him...
  11. I can do you the speaker grilles, engine cover and targa wind deflector for £30 inc postage mate.
  12. What's that suggesting Andrew? Eyes like a shithouse rat!
  13. Welcome to the club Ali. It's worth getting a boost leak checker which you pump up with a compressor and listen for leaks. You've probably got several which can really affect things. Turbos on standard Zeds are almost silent, one thing I love about my modified one is the noisy spools :) haha And I can help you with the speaker covers, throttle cover and wind deflector.
  14. This pic might help... JDM for me
  15. They are quite possibly OEM wheels from a Cadillac or similar
  16. About 400bhp mate so no not really. Clutch plate was proper stuck on the flywheel
  17. What a night, fixed my Z and also changed the gearbox in my mates SX. So I took the box off and was suprised to see the fork and pivot were fine, hydraulics were fine... Was starting to wonder what the hell had happened... Removed the clutch cover plate and the friction disc just sat there, melted to the flywheel :( Bye bye Z1 TT 6 puck clutch and Z1 fly, hello NA Z1 6 puck clutch and Z1 fly haha :)
  18. Thanks Paul yeah meant to add no fluid loss either, Z1 6 puck clutch and Z1 flywheel so hopefully they aren't knackered! :(
  19. Was out having fun in the car last week until it decided to keep going forwards in traffic when I put my foot on the clutch lol... I had launched it quite heavily a minute or so before but now it's broke :( Getting it on the ramp tomorrow to see what the hell has happened to it - the clutch presses down and the slave appears to be moving the normal amount - but I cannot select any gears with the engine running. The only way to move the car is by starting in gear and letting it roll forwards then start driving but only in that gear. So I was wondering what might have gone wrong? Snapped fork maybe? Any thoughts guys?
  20. Can't wait to get my NA rear fitted to mine! Glad you like it :)
  21. Yes incredibly helpful as always Jeff, have you got a retirement Z for yourself?
  22. Can't remember Scott, I'll have to double check tomorrow. 225s and 255s I think
  23. *****cks I've seen the size of you
  24. I'll just share this picture of a 993 GT2 just for the hell of it... .... But you'll need considerable more than £20k for one! :tt2:
  25. I have 18x9 fronts and 18x10 rears with an offset of 22/25 respectively. I still need my rear arches rolling as the catch but once done they'll clear no problems.
