  1. right guys this is still on atm as far im concerned :D weather is suposed to be a bit patchy in the morning then clear in the afternoon :D
  2. yeh i had braided lines on my old car BIG difference, think il overhaul the calipers and change the fluid first doubt its ever been done. do the flexi lines at teh same time, then if thats still not as good as id like, then its gonna be a case of larger front discs. can anything be done for exapmle fitting the calipers from something newer like a 350 to the front then using the zeds standard fronts for the rears? obviously some adaaptor plates would need to occur.
  3. i thought this was normal mine always idels about 1000 or so 900 when warm but sumtimes higher like 1100 seems to change here and there
  4. ttand an early one at that. what is over hauling the calipers like?
  5. brake set up is as it was and has 20 years wear and tear on it theyre not great. id like them to at least feel as good as a modern car. so whats the best way to go on a budjet
  6. ah, ok well something is definatly on. check all your switches something silly like the electric seat buttons. maybe or an led internal light draining?
  7. never had anyone ask what it is. had a few mercs etc try and race it and been left looking fairly stupid. i did see this guy a while ago that used to give me a hard time in school. i was out in the zed it was summer the ttops where off my mrs was looking good in the passenger seat should of seen his chav ass face! pricesless
  8. ok i know you said the alternator is working fine but best to check to take it away 100% get it up and running and test the voltage. when fully charged and when running should be a littl;e higher cant rember the spefic numbers tho. 13.1 seems to stick in my head for running? i just put the multimeter across the terminals but i dont think tahts teh "correct" way
  9. what sorta speed do you recon you where at impact. there surprisingly robust arnt they when they decide to kill themselves
  10. maybe the battery has been too flat and needs a deep charge. had this a while ago left the window open and teh alrum drained the battery charged it up and drove to my gfs where it promptly went flat again stuck it ion charge for three days on my father in laws deep charge etc charger and never had a problem since. most places will check your battery for free worth a check.
  11. *tip* turn off the over drive and engauge the power button and enjoy that until such a time you go manual :D
  12. awesome just drove mine out around the back of bournemouth sort of ringwood way. it was on toop form had me smilling like a kid.
  13. tig can be a douche bag when working on cars, because youve gotta get everything pretty dam cl;ean to keep the weld uncontaminated. lovely way of welding though once you have teh swing of it, allows very precise work. glad things are getting sorted out though.
  14. agree mig will be much better for the job far easier to tick up with. you will find the arc welder very very messy for this job and have little control. arc is best suited for applications where your welding thicker materials that arnt going to warp with the heat applied.
  15. is this your convoy down to our meet?
  16. ha well at least that makes two of us i flagged a red one down a few months ago lol. so anyone that gets randomly spoken to by a random stranger while thier in their zed its only me.... i dont understand the concept of unfriendlyness. anyways im gonna fire up the beast and pop to burly scare teh shit out of some wildlife :D
  17. oh yes you are lol. if you dont you can catch alift an arrive in style in any event! ive also joined swjcc to try and poach even more people. i know where theres an na sat about might go stick a note on his windscreen, or is that weird? i wont bother with the black one at queens park he isnt friendly lol
  18. when i had an oil leak that dropped oil on my turbos and caused smoke to billow out from behind teh engine it was most noticable when i turned it off or when idling when hot. so i would assume if it was residual it would be the that you would experience it. n01 question is why did the dip stick pop off, syptom or problem? i would tend to agree that thsi is probally an issue with pressure relief from teh crank case because of faulty pcvs or something of the like. if i understand correctly the sump wil always have a higher pressure than the amibent atmostphere? to a degree hence the need for the "pressure control valve?" (ptu)? :/ so that this pressure can be vented safely and stay within emmisions regulations. if it was teh piston rings would it not smoke fairkly consisently, you should be able to see it puff up from the rear of the car when on the throttle, which tyouve tried with your broom trick. hopefully zedworld will give you a nice simple wallet friendly answer. that might be aload of absolute twaddle im not sure, im pretty much thinking allowed. but if that does make sense and please correct me if ive misunderstood or misinformed , ive learnt some things about engines since joing this forum.
