  1. lol i swear our boxes act different to everyone elses mate lol
  2. well tbh mate theres are so many zeds out there really you can take your pic, if the vectra is your daily car and you intend to have the zed as it id have a long hard think... awesoem car i love mine but living with it on a daily basis is a pita. both on the wallet and the mind. im sure you could probally sell the vectra find a zeda nd buy yourself a little fiestya or the like for daily use.
  3. right... you can test the alternator witha multimeter, this will tell you if the batter y is being charged when the engine is on. google it for a fuull explaination. yes it can cause hessitation, as the sparks weak etc i drive mine like that once felt pants. could be something more sinister though.... so beware. that alternator isnt the simplest one in teh world to get to either btw. gotta ask aswel wheres this oil come from? leaking rover cover gaskets? or leaky power steering lines? cracked spoilers are common theyre made from foam they absorb water then freeze you can gues sthe rest. prime spot for rust aswel. standard rear lights can be picked up fairly cheaply a few of us have spare sets myself included. sky are probally about the best about tbh mate. esp if your under 25
  4. not experinced that myself hrm.
  5. sticky ones are a pain to fit anywhere decent on the zed i used a standard hardbacked one and trim tape to hold it to the curve properly and do away with the screws best of a bad job in my eyes id like it gone full stop :D
  6. that spoiler looks more like a damn tumour
  7. liek it just need to sort out that plate and those indicators, where did you get the lip from?
  8. i think its a good thing that this has arisen aslong as it stays as its intended not just an excuse for insurance companies to make even more money.... im 24 so do i drive more sensibly than i did when i was 17, hell yeh. does my gf whos 21 drive more sensibly than i did at that age hell yeh. has she crashed her car well shes on her third now since last year. the fact that her brother who is only 18 and has been quoted nothing short of 2k to insure a £300 fiesta(average was closer to three) is obsene. the reality is taht when we start driving at 17 the majority of us are crap..... over exiceted, over confident and under experienced..... i think guys are more likly to write a car off but girls are more likly to go up the back of something else, they simply dont pay attention. all the girls i know have reversed into a lampost or cut a corner and ****ted a lampost etc etc etc. they tend to spend more on a first car because they want it to be realiable. and therefore are more likly to claim. guys generally will fix it themselves or scrap it. claims only really occur when someone else is involved. who then claims like buggery. the long and the short of it is that statistics lie, they say whatever you want. everyones knows boys are "crazy drivers" the media tells us so so we accept this "fact" and pay out. a guy being twice as expensive to insure as a girl really is a bit excessive a slight difference yes, but not that big. and just for the record ive got one claim on my liecense that ive had since 17 which was for a bmw that i rear ended, i thought he was going and he didnt basicaly and i rolled into him at 0.02mph and scratched the rear bumper. didnt even leave a mark on my car, the guy was a complete a hole about it and the insurance ended up giving him a new bumper and new bumper mounts etc etc etc witha total bill of £900.... pathetic for a scratch taht really probally would have polished out. ive had a few bumps and knock mostly from ****ting about but ive never claimed for them ive only got myself to blame when i spin out and hit a curb havent i? i believe from my experince girls claim more regularly, and have a few minor bumps boys tend to claim less frequently and tend to write cars off. really the goverment should be concentrating less on stupid speed limits, and the like. and concentrating more on a driving test that teache syou to drive in the real world not just pass a test.
  9. nice looking car. as said uks can be cronic for rust get on it and go over it witha fine tooth comb esp if yoir planning to respray, prime time to cut out any rot... as for the spoiler replace it witha fibreglass item, the orginal oes soak up water then explode when they freeze hence the problem you now have. i wouldnt fit dump valves teh subjects been discussed afew times round here they tend to make the ran run worse, each to their own tho. as for turbos thats an engine out job im afraid matey...
  10. im sure your aware of my metal functions. dont wind me up groover il be scratching my head all week wondering weather its worked and why no one can see it lol

  17. how reasonable is reasonable at the end of the day lol
  18. thought about logically that make a hell of a lot of sense.
  19. sounds like its low on fluid. plently of auto boxes around as most swap to manual. so there noty big bucks if youve got the time and desire and its cheap enough might be worth a buy. however theres lots of other zed bugs to look out for....
  20. heres a little thought back to my days of webber carbs, i know its not the same but winding the throttle open opn them too long too often bends the butterflys. maybe this was an attempt to prevent the same issue?
  21. sorry lol explain it? how sthe project going then jim any further forward?
  22. heard of it before, but i do wonder why the "bump" was there? has to have a function right?
  23. where implyinmg you didnt care, just saying if your not precious on that one, i knwo some people can quite happily just buy another personally i get attached to a shell. i feel for you with teh sticking it away pretty limited myself. and as for not being a mechanic, you once werent a plasterer if you get my meaning everything can be learned with enough time. chin up buddy, bloody zeds eh.
