  1. i agree, i know quite often people use extra headgaskets or packers to decrease compression for turboing applications.
  2. do a search i think most guys run auto tubs about 2psi less. but im no expert have a search about sure the info is on here sum place...
  3. the rim is bonded iirc. to stop the air leaking out. think like any other gasket.
  4. if you had a mate that was handy with the old tig welder an dyou colud get teh pan nice and clean theres no reason why with some planning you couldnt baffle the orginal is there?
  5. yup autos have differnt cams and turbos to spool up quicker and make up for the grannie box :D they do say that through the gears a converted auto will be quicker because of less lag. i seem to rember something on the subject of them handling less boost if planning to up the boost, hope that helps
  6. in a sense its possible to turbo anything however to get the best out of it there is alot more that would have to be done to the engine cam work etc. and compression. insurance wise it would become a modified car, it would be cheaper to insure the stndard tt than a modded na with a turbo. i looked into this when i was into my capris cheaper to buy a 2.8 than make it a 2.8. i think all in all you would probally find it easietr and cheaper to either buy a tt lump complete and drop it in or just buy a tt car.
  7. agreed councils are having to face up to these responsibilties, you pay your taxes and roads of adequate standard should be provided. i read something recently about people claiming over damge to cars caused by over sized speed humps
  8. yeh been looking for new wheels, and there are lots of german 110x5 fitment style wheels out there. for better money as there in abundance. :D
  9. i think the vw boys do it quite often. ian... where did you get the apadtors to change 110 to 114?
  10. my mate did a set of bbs split rims in his kitchen they where fine. just required alot of patenice. and he used a liquid style gasket like a silicone bead.
  11. 3rds have the t tops off in the sun today....
  12. ha its all about personal preferance though isnt it.
  13. the prices are crazed! my gfs cat had to be rushed in for a c section this week nearly 500 quid!
  14. thats a nice little paragraph that vods
  15. both but i have a cross pipe so its irrelivant in that sense tbh. i think its probally worse due my exhust being shot. its like swiss cheese atm. got a new one on the way tho.. pretty sure the rust holds the moisture
  16. what was the final verdict then?
  17. yeh take it gentle. get that engine and everything fully up to tempreture. i know if mines been sat a fair while, especially outside. it will blow condensation for a fair while. once up to temp though its fine and the next day it willl be fine.
  18. i like the s15 very much, and the s14a its quite a looker. not a patch on the equilvelntly speced zed tho. did look at owning a 200 probally would have been more sensible and useable. but i definatly glad i hav ethe zed :D
  19. yeh that will do it, take a look under the filler cap but if it was showing signs there it would prob sound shite. aswel. if its been stood about it might just been that its saturated with condensation through the engine and needs a good blow out. watch that temp needle! its not very accurate tho so if it starts to rise time to pull over. your already overheating :*( if you were burning oil id expect blue smoke. and carbonated plugs. lets hope its simple :D
  20. no news as of yet mate as to club stands etc stil intending on particpating tho. might be worth trying again. i havent got round to my email this week as ive been in cheltenham working, il have a chase up this week..
  21. white is normally water. if youve got a compression tester its worth doing. and maybe a radator sniffer. has the car been stood about for a while? might just need a good run to clear the pipes out.
  22. what colour is the smoke? this could help a fair way. and does it get worse at certain conditions ie on boost on the over run etc.
  23. i actually kinda like it after first look. but the zed looks best in the last pic with the darker alloys etc to set it off as stndard its just too overpowering.
