Engine Question
right i think your getting confused. if you look down by the big white fan, the vicous fan as its known you will see thre 15mm or so black smooth belts. these run off a pulley down in the bottom under the fan. you will see this spinning when the engine is on. the three belts run off of this these are known as anncilry belts they run things like the alternaor, power steering pump, air conditioning etc. on the right hand side you will see there is a pulley. this is the air con compressor. if there is no belt here its probally because the compressoir has siezed try turning it by hand when the engine is off obviously! it probally wont move. so many people detached it rather than replace it. with me so far? this is why you only have two belts. as long as these are in good condition, no freying etc or excesivily warn down, and are of the correct tension so they dont slip, and squeal. then your ancileraies will hopefully do there job :D the main belt. i assume you mean timing belt is safely hidden behind the black platic that covers teh front of the engine. you can undo a few bolts to peak in there and see how bad or maybe good it is. if youve just brought the car i cannot recommed highly enough taking your car to zedworld, they will do a full health check of your car and advise you on what needs doing for a very fair price. most of the members here will also recommend thier services. best of luck.

gosh there cheap! that 350z is gorgeous still very tempted by one of them...
-
hubcentric spacers
i suppose as long as the materials are of the correct tensile strength and its all torqued up corectly what can go wrong... its no different really compared to bolting a wheel on.
-
hubcentric spacers
hrm..... horror stories confirm my fears

i agree, i know quite often people use extra headgaskets or packers to decrease compression for turboing applications.

-
quick question
yup autos have differnt cams and turbos to spool up quicker and make up for the grannie box :D they do say that through the gears a converted auto will be quicker because of less lag. i seem to rember something on the subject of them handling less boost if planning to up the boost, hope that helps
-
how much bar
in a sense its possible to turbo anything however to get the best out of it there is alot more that would have to be done to the engine cam work etc. and compression. insurance wise it would become a modified car, it would be cheaper to insure the stndard tt than a modded na with a turbo. i looked into this when i was into my capris cheaper to buy a 2.8 than make it a 2.8. i think all in all you would probally find it easietr and cheaper to either buy a tt lump complete and drop it in or just buy a tt car.

pi$$#d off
agreed councils are having to face up to these responsibilties, you pay your taxes and roads of adequate standard should be provided. i read something recently about people claiming over damge to cars caused by over sized speed humps

Splitting 2 piece wheels ..
my mate did a set of bbs split rims in his kitchen they where fine. just required alot of patenice. and he used a liquid style gasket like a silicone bead.
