  1. Damn right, not the mention the stress relief and credit card hammering from not having to know the zed will be working again by Monday.
  2. I can see what being said on the skirts but I think its a bit of an optical illusion atm because the front bumpers black and the wheels are off.
  3. Now that's an odd statement, I wish I could afford to drive my zed everyday. I have a company van nowadays thankfully, but when I didn't I had a little 1.2 corsa it made the insurance a lot cheaper on the zed as it could be insured as a classic second car and the money saved in fuel was astounding. A little £300 diesel banger could save you a lot of money if you did it right.
  4. nope none the wiser, don't think its the basenji as the tail is wrong and the face too wide.
  5. I saw this car in the flesh last week and i can attest it is a very very clean and original UK spec, lovely car.
  6. I'l ask the wife she will know lol,
  7. mines £160 through footman james, 26 years old 3 points. its an import on a full proper classic policy.
  8. No one needs hicas lol, its just a scarey gimmick that has you thinking the cars going to go one way then it goes another :s
  9. lol it was pretty much give away....anyways have some rep. - - - Updated - - - Quarter of the way there now.
  10. Im not surprised either, the zed cost me less than my corsa when I had them both, statistically less people of my age crash zeds than corsas. A skyline was 3x as expensive to insure as the zed, its all about perception.
  11. and another lol http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300-ZX-TURBO-RED-BLACK-LEATHER-18-AZEV-ALLOYS-/321124555231?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4ac483d9df
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Z32-Silver-300ZX-3-0-Twin-Turbo-Manual-Targa-Top-TT-380BHP-VERY-RARE-/171039022337?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27d2b85d01 looks alright aswel
  13. lol that shows how much attention you pay, there already in there!
  14. I'd like to say thanks to two members firstly to Hellraiser for selling me some front seat cheap like the budgey, bllody good ones at that, so my old beaten up front have been replaced, and secondly to 300_zedx for literally giving me a late spec interior in the dark velour and bring along to japfest, what a top chap! Anyways, ive sat there cleaning up the panels this week and they will be fitted this weekend pictures will follow :D
  15. I think you'd be very lucky to find a twin turbo supra for that cash, esp a manual one. However 3k should find you a fairly good 2+2 if you are prepared to hunt about for a good one. Genuine Uk cars CAN be cheaper to insure but that's not guaranteed and realistically it shouldn't be a factor as they are nigh on the same, only minor difference's exist, however 20+ years of poor uk weather will see most in poor shape in the rear portion of the sills and arches, even if that's not apparent at first. That being said, good clean well looked after examples do exist, id your prepared to hunt about. JDM cars aren't always a clean slate in terms of rust, as many have been here for 10+ years now, so although they are likely to be better don't discount rust in the usual places. Sadly most imports have poor paper work trails and are often clocked, so don't go to heavy on what the clocks read. What your really looking for is a car that's been well loved, with plenty of paper work to back up claims and regular servicing, if nothing been replaced either its been hardly used or poorly maintained. Top tip is take it for a damn long test drive, get that engine warm, a lot of issues with these cars don't show on a quick spin, overheating is common as are weaping turbo seals, and other associated engine oil seals when not looked after. Now for the pros. The car has had a reputation for poor reliability because of these things, however a well looked after and serviced example is quite the opposite. Some have got over 300k out the engine, and stock bottom ends have been proven to push over 500bhp reliably, not only that the car has a massive following in the states in a far hotter climate without half these stigmas over overheating etc. They are also pretty good handling cars out the box, as long as the 20+ year old suspension has been looked after/refreshed, two of them (albeit not stock) are currently running in time attack, and a virtually stock one runs in the bdrc, without too many hiccups. The z32 is a very capable sports car, every bit as capable as its similarly power to weight ratio'ed cousins the skyline and the supra, and let me tell you from a 40mph pull on a highway, very few things can keep up with the zed, new or old. Meets wise the south of England is getting busier and busier, next major event would be Simply Japanese on the 4th of august, should be a real variety of zed metal there.
  16. No such thing as a uk slicktop ;) they were all import. Uk only received the 2+2 turbo version.
  17. Oh the door sail, lol I see what you mean, I think its required to keep rigidity. The gauge thing, hrm id never thought about that before.
  18. looks clean and tidy never seen it before though.
  19. They did plan at one point to make it a na v8 however a twin turbo v8 would have been amazing only problem is they were limited to 280hp by the Japanese agreement it was hard enough to restrain our own v6 tt to 280 let alone a v8 tt lol
  20. The second ones you posted up where the ones I was on about, I really don't like the way its designed, the fact half the thread depth isn't actually complete. If tensile strength is an issue as we all know cast ali isn't the best for this purpose and steel has a far better tensile strength why not have them made out of 4130 cromoly steel, its strong as death ive staked my life on for years, in the bmx world. The pricing is stupid aswel, if it can be made from flat sheet like the ones above in the first pictures it can be drawn up on cad, and pumped out in its 100s per sheet on a water jet, thrown in the bead do dar and tapped the to appropriate size job done.
  21. stop being a fanny and get stuck in, then hire a rotivator and churn the crap outta it.
  22. cheers bud nice to put a face on you at last.
  23. was your car at japfest this year?
