  1. My zed already has 265 rears, not cheap crap either, a set of pzero Rosso's and I can honestly say that dry traction is acceptable. It's not great, even at stock power. I can spin up shifting into third in the dry if I'm not carefull.
  2. Apparently it's about 600 ponies that is the passing point on snapping driveshafts. On drag radials and more than 600 expect to snap tt ones regularly. :( I know what you mean about a safety clutch lol, but it slows you down and or helps you to climb trees.
  3. Correct. You can also hook up a 9v battery and watch down the plug hole to see if it sprays.
  4. I've been thinking about this a lot recently, tire width and grip. It's not quite as simple as a wider tyre equals more grip. There's a point of deminising return, which relates to the weight applied to the contact patch. That's just straight lines, where corners are concerned it gets even more complex, weight transfer and flex can mean you actually achieve less grip! Yes confusing stuff, you may gain more grip from a correctly adjusted tyre pressure than simply going wider. As far as I'm aware no one has ever tested a z32s optimal tyre size in any given situation. Certain 700hp super cars have rears over 12j and traction control etc, It also weighs more than a z32 so can exploit it more. What I'm trying to say is it's not clear cut, the old whack some uber wide rears on possibly not the best solution for us. I'm very much considering swapping to a 225/40/17r front and 245/40/17r rear as as a road legal slick, this should have more grip than a 265/35/18r I think, I'm not sure really. I have big concerns ATM, over actually getting power on the floor. I'm not going to reveal much but grips an issue at stock power off the line let alone with more... How does your na rear end fair dave? Is it just a tyre spinning mess from standstill
  5. Read that the other day, good stuff.
  6. Nice pics thanks for sharing. I do like the vrx8 when they came out I really wanted one, they sound great and the new shape is a great car, but new the price has got silly, nearly 50k I believe for a muscle car is a lot. The early shape can be picked up pretty reasonably, I must admit I've been tempted, but I just keep reminding myself it's a vauxhall, I would be really disappointed after a few years when it falls apart. Did the omptimus primer feel a bit Slow on the way home? ESP with a dead maf.
  7. I would love to, however If I'm honest with myself it's going to be longer than that before the car is ready, so many things to pay out for and do over the next year. :(
  8. Congratulations, jimmer a top bloke. A genuine expert and credit to the zed community.
  9. I expect it's got wet. Have a look for the lighting relay and pull it out, temporary fix.
  10. Nail on the head sadly, what's in is sub 200hp hatch backs.
  11. May I be involved to some degree, it was my suggestion to begin with btw.
  12. China is a pretty backwards place still, human life isn't worth much. So I'm not really surprised or shocked. I do however HATE the term, "boy racer" tag. It's lost all meaning in recent years.
  13. So the committee will soon reveal some details on this subject?
  14. Fantastic news, two very proactive chaps.
  15. Seconded there, I've seen a fair few very different looking pearl yellows.
  16. Hello and welcome, pictures are the law. Il say it before anyone else, new car, slippery autum roads, please be carefull. The 300zx can catch you off guard in the conditions, they bite hard and fast. So take it easy. What spec is it, year etc, guess by the t it's a turbo model.
  17. Of corse, it's a celebration of the marque not necessarily the cars made that year. - - - Updated - - - Good idea, currently very little is occurring.
  18. Maf? Mine was similar I chased a misfire and even idle all round the houses. It it islet was fine over 3k but awful under it. New maf problem solved like night and day.
  19. I believe it's do able but becomes complex, it most likely helps that there lhd. But yeah permanent export is a pita.
  20. We should do one of those as a club.
  21. It can only only be imported to France if it's a uk/euro spec. Something to do with their rules, a Jspec doesn't comply, that and the fact that the French are plain awkward.
  22. In that welcome pack is likely a forum name, ie there user name you can search that on here and get some info.
  23. As above so even though the profile number is different the tyre wall shouldn't be as the widths are different.
  24. Real shame that, vultures will likely circle very quickly, I wouldn't be surprised if the usual suspects buy it up for tuppence claiming they want to repair it and conveniently declare it beyond repair and break another car.
