(The gaitor splits and you get a noise in 2nd and 4th, it's a big whirry gearbox) Just check, I'm sure it's fine but check the car is charging it's battery, the alternator is down at the bottom so viable to water/salt etc damage. At the firewall are two nuts where the pipes and connected in a compression joint. So no need to cut. With your battery out you will see it. To remove the ac rad and compressor will likely mean removing the water rad and anti roll bar btw.
