Guys, this is a big one, I need a shoulder to cry on, and a welder :(
The transit idea really is the best option mate. Even if you are within the law it's not worth the aggro, a lot of coppers will drag you into the police station or court before discussing actual law, the sentence "if you disagree you can always contest and go to court" is a favourite as they know no one wants to do that. For the peace of mind and saved fuel it's worth spend a few extra beans on the hire van.

more than likely it's the head gasket....
If you had enough fluid in there to make it miss it would steam like a powerstation, also much more and you would likely hydrolock the motor and bend the rods. Also you would probably have contaminated oil, as it seeps through and gets in the oil.

You could always rent one of those fat bed style transits the gypos use for well lots of things for about £60 and then no worries. Save fuel as well.

No no I sorta agree. Cut it up and see what you've got, you can bodge it up quite happily as long as it gets through the mot. The skirt will cover up the abortion style repair. Then when funds allow you can get it cut right back and sorted properly. The summer is sortand the winter long.

Heating doesn't change it's ability to rust that bull crap, that's a rumour due to people with poor welding skills contaminating the weld and it rusting quicker than the rest. Heat changes metals properties for strength or malubility etc. Otherwise everything in the word would fall apart after "2 years" I know of some steel vessels I work on that were built in 1930 and are full if pressurised water, they are welded and not falling apart. Not only do side skirts hide rot them seem to encourage the bloody stuff. Time to break out the grinder and make a deal with a welder or learn.

"Simply Japanese" - Beaulieu Motor Museum - Joint southern area meet
"Entry into the Beaulieu Parkland with your Japanese vehicle is from 9.30am – the Brabazon Restaurant will be open for bacon rolls, cakes, teas and coffees." So the 9am meeting at Applemore seems bob on.

any one willing to help
The biggest issue is the weight, removal is always easier than refitting. The most fiddly part is undoing the torque converter, you have to remove the starter motor and turn it till the bolt is in view and accessible, turn repeat, turn repeat. Snoreeeee! Downpipes get rusty and are a pita sometimes. Battery out before you do anything buddy. You may need some 1ft long 1/2" extension bars, to access the top two. I do it with a ring spanner round the bell housing but I have gibbon arms.

Im leaving the club after being stiched up on a purchase
That's a shame mate, the gripes and groans of the few don't make the club though it must be said, lots of positive stuff happens and 99% of people are very friendly, that's life though isn't it.

Climate control blows hot constantly.
Ah that's interesting mate, which one or where was it roughly?

Climate control blows hot constantly.
Hi guys decided to fix this pesky issue. Regardless of the temperature set my car ALWAYS blows hot air, even when the blowers are off hot air radiates into the cabin, its fine in winter but on a hot day it gets a bit annoying. It's almost as if there is a valve that is broken so the heater matrix is constantly being supplied with hot coolant from the engine, is that possible? my Ac compressor and rad etc is all deleted but theres no reason it shouldn't be able to just blow cool air if you see what I mean, like a non AC equipped car. Where do I start?

Red factory zed
It may have been Hellraiser, his is extremely clean and BRIGHT red. It's more likely to be the na owned by a lad this way who isn't a member, it wasn't mine as I've been in Plymouth all day and unless the thieves brought it back it's still here now I walked past it coming through the backdoor lol.

Jeff said it was likely the TPS (throttle position sensor) this is located on the plenum. There's a how to on the subject, multimeter and a screwdriver type job.

Hi
Swb is the better track car, Lwb better for drifting on the road you'd have to be pushing it for it to matter. The 6 speed swap most people refer to is the 6 out of a 350z but the 5 sod is stronger and you won't be able to use 6th properly. If you want closer ratios fit the 4.1 ratio r200 diff out if an NA car.

brake question again
I dunno if it was exactly 5mm just gaz said above about 5mm if he remembers correctly. You would need to check it.
-
brake question again
No, what he means is the disc has a different offset so needed a 5mm packer to line up the disc and calliper to the same position, so they line up.

If you look at the chassis tag it will state vg30(dett) or conversely vg30(de)

I would expect the cluster has been changed, you would be barmy to convert a TT to an NA, you would likely have all sorts of tale tales, a hicas solenoid for one, or the provisions for one, wiring and or hoses etc. Rad mounting position, oil cooler, brake disc thickness(not always) basically you soon start to find other things that made you think hrmmm.
