  1. Indeed and I don’t think we can honestly say that the average owner is experienced in that respect. It’s a good time for an NA that Pete. Obviously your down on power but less weight and better gearing for the power level. Out of interest Pete have you weighed your Slicktop?
  2. What is the end goal here?
  3. Yeah that’s how it is now. It will even slip on full throttle sometimes. It didn’t use to, or at least it was very infrequently, since a PS fluid leak though it’s every damn time I turn it on. The alternator belt is near the end of adjustment.
  4. Exactly Pete, all over the place. I can’t find that 5 second reference myself but I recall it. The difference between a 5.4 and 6 is tiny. If you really want to know, go try. It’s not like a modern car with launch control, everything is a manual input. Your own 0-60 could be 8 seconds.
  5. Cheers Pete although I recon they’re too long.
  6. In the real world your probably right. Car and Driver managed a flat 5 second time and 5.2-5.4 is widely quoted. These tests are carried about by professional drivers though in good conditions and new cars. 25+ years later, on worn bushes, pot hole riddled UK roads and Bill from Scarborough who works in Sainsbury’s, who lets be honest has had too many kebabs and pies is going to struggle to get his 300Z to 60 before his mobile disco in the back changes dance track. Less Pub talk, more drive...
  7. Maybe no one knows...
  8. The driver is probably the biggest factor. Pig to launch these cars.
  9. If you buy now will you see it before 2030?
  10. It’s not my thing but it’s nice to see people enjoying themselves and being proud to be English. Be nice if the lads won, it’s a once in a lifetime thing and god knows our nation could do with a win right now.
  11. Obviously it’s your car and you do as you please but I think you will have more joy at a lower compression ratio. In fact stick to the stock TT ratio. Don’t forget I’ve had a TT’d NA albiet on a stock map it detonated even in safety boost like a bag of crisps and lasted about 10 pulls before it blew the ring lands.
  12. Re zinc coat the bolts. Easy enough to do, just a bit time consuming. What’s the reasoning behind the high compression build? Are you not worried that on standard pump fuels it’s going to be vulnerable to detonation?
  13. What compression ratio will you have Ali? NA manual cams are the same as TT manual btw, the only ones that a different is the TT auto.
  14. Evening guys. I’ve got a squeal on the belts, even tight, probably worn out or oil contamination. Where’s the best place to source? I’ve got an underdrive bottom pulley but standard pulleys on the others.
  15. The 350z uses a higher profile, giving a larger rolling radius.
  16. A good shop will just cut of the back boxes and weld on new, simple job really.
  17. Stuff like this makes me sad. I don’t like people getting poor service and I really feel for you. Obviously we are only getting your side, I have no reason to doubt your side, if you feel you have a strong case of a misrepresented sale etc then I’d really encourage you to persue it legally.
  18. Seen two this week. One red, one silver. Very striking.
  19. I believe the 5psi thing has its origins in the FSM. Whilst I appreciate what your saying Jeff and common sense is a factor we must remember that someone could read this via the search function, take it as red and throw 60 PSI at it because well, you said it was “ok”. You didn’t but it could be read that way. A reasonable leak can be found by throwing 5psi in, its what’s recommended in the manual and is the safe advice to give those not in the know. Don’t you think?
  20. Well I didn’t vote for it...
  21. Maybe they will reverse it, probably not though. At least it cuts down on the nuisance calls. I told one the other day he was in violation of blah blah, got rid of him quick enough. From what I understand even the top dogs are bit confused about exactly it’s applied and what’s exempt.
  22. European Union Regulation 2016/679.
  23. Well there’s two times this happens quite often. Ones cleaner than the other  So when you have a hangover, you think, oh god why did I, say, do, that etc. That’s your moment of clarity, when you see through the moment. The other and much more effective, oh how to say this. When you’ve been spending time with miss Palmer and her five daughters, you do you thing and suddenly think wtf am I watching! That is a moment of clarity.
