  1. Exactly that, it's also a late spec NA with the 10y heads. Was probably a very nice NA before I put boost through it for 4 years and blew it up.
  2. Take a picture of what's cracked, the intercooler pipes don't steam, them only contain engine gasses.
  3. I was planning on coming to this this year but other plans have taken over, some dog show thing I promised madam I'd take her to. Need her in the good books after this weeks discovery.
  4. Certainly is mate and when your stamping on the brakes or trying to rescue things when sideways it's the fronts that are king.
  5. Technically a fairlady not a fairladyZ, no? Never seen one, one was for sale a while ago over here, cool looking little beastie, reminds me of a hillman or something.
  6. These are what I have, even cheaper than I paid wet grip is the same as dunlops, which are twice the price. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s66p122765/Achilles_Tyres_Car_Achilles_ATR_Sport_-_265_35_R18_97W_XL_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_C_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_73dB
  7. Up front, where the braking and steering is done. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s322p102378/Michelin_Tyres_Car_Michelin_Pilot_Sport_3_PS3_-_235_40_R18_%2895Y%29_XL_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_71dB Plenty of other choices but hell you, these are the tyres you need the grip I all weather all the time.
  8. Exactly that, part worms arnt even that cheap, when you consider they are half done at best.
  9. Tbh even budjets would be better than driving round with cracked tyres or ones with visible defects. Part works are a minefield, so be careful, they are usually off a car for good reason rsp in this day and age, which means you are likely buying off a wrecked car or they are below the markers but still legal. The Verdenstuens or whatever they are called are well praised and very well priced. I've got a pair of Achilles ATR sport in 265/35/18r which cost me £150 yes for the pair lol, yes new. They're pretty good comparable to say falkens and very similar to look at, they arnt going to be best but in dry weather they're better than ok, certainly better than the pzeros I had with 2mm left.
  10. Want to give me 400 of those 1800hp's lol
  11. Thanks for your detailed response, I under that better now.
  12. Yeah bit of a shitter, I will sort something out though. Fortunately my good mate Gary is pretty resourceful and encouraging between the two of us I'm sure we will work out a solution.
  13. Yeah that's an option I've been looking at, problem is it's a late spec NA which means the oil pump if it's an na one isn't convertible it will need replacement. By the time I've brought a gasket kit, rings and bearings I'm rotting up a bit of a bill even without labour, it would also be a bit of a bodge. Or I can buy a replacement block for less money but there's more risk, as it might be fubar too.
  14. Just loop the CC out as if you were deleting it then retest.
  15. He is on lates mate so wont be back till late
  16. Lol yup I want it out now and in the bench. Patience though as I need to carefully plan my next move. Haste makes mess.
  17. Sadly the worse suspicions came true, it's an NA block.
  18. I'm actually glad they didn't make that it's not to my tastes. It looks like lots of ideas that just don't fit together, like one if those weird Chinese designed super cars. It looks like a cross between a z32 and an NSX with a bit of Ferrari thrown in for good measure. They quite obviously liked the rear lights, as it looks like they dig them out the bin for the s14. Is it not one of the ideas they thought if for the z32 looks very similar.
  19. Wouldn't that just be a waste of time, disable a wastegate to leave it tgere taking up space to add another furtheralong. Surely to gain from the scenarioyou would have to have a custom not intergrated gate exhaust comp hosing?
  20. Just putting out the feelers due to a recent discover, it's not a forgone conclusion just yet. Il know soon but I may be looking for a replacement long block. Anyone got a twin turbo long block available? I don't need any ancillaries, not even a fly wheel. Preferably in the southern half of the UK below say Birmingham, I'd be prepared to travel for the right block at the right price, looking for a cheap fix to get me through till I can afford a rebuild.
  21. Agreed, it would be illogical to go that far and not change the bearings.
  22. Right so does this mean that in normal instances ie acceleration, the lean condition created by the stock fuel method causes no issue as power is taken away from the driveline as you will changing gear anyway. The only time the Ignition cut method is of use is when you are expecting to hold on that limit, for example drift cars where they will hold the gear and bounce off the limiter.
  23. Yup that's the wastegate there on the right, once the actuator sees the pressure required it pushes thus flap open, the excess gasses then pass through here limiting the speed the turbine is spinning. It's likeca diverter valve it literally wastes off the air. Very simple really.
