Waxoil on belts
I would be careful spraying anything corrosive onto belts in the engine, you don't want to damage them or your engine. I would suggest a mild degreaser, or even washing up liquid.

5th gear@6.5k rpm = how fast?
This is a long post - be warned! Since my engine rebuild, I must have had a boost leak and not having a TT before, I couldn't tell. I posted up about oil on one of my hard pipes, and was advised that if oil can get out -air can get in and to tighten up the clips. Well I did that and all of a sudden my boost guage has sprung into action and it picks up much better.... I took her out for the first time since fixing the leak, got out onto the M40 and put my foot down as it was empty. Usually I would have got to a cruising speed of between 90 -95 in the time I had my foot down, but to my suprise the car was off the clock (only goes to 110) and the rev counter was at 6.5k!! I won't do it again - and it was an accident - but I am curious - HOW FAST WAS I GOING? I am not one for big speed, I was just shocked at how fast it was! Jap spec 90 TT

It's friday, time for a weird link....
What is scariest? The fact they had special tools for that.... Or that Bantumbunny was searching the web for them?

Any Real Noticable Driving difference between a SWB and Slicktop ??
You are comparing unrelated things.... Better to compare slicktop/t-bar or LWB/SWB. Slicktop is meant to be lighter and more rigid - so better handling, but you lose the amazing British weather. Or LWB/SWB this I have heard many conflicting reports.... Maybe go to a meet and ask members with different types for a passenger ride to see for yourself?

Carbon F and F/Glass Tailgate.
Weave/resin/Industrial binbags/gaffa tape and a hoover to create a high pressure environment. Don't laugh - you can make good parts like that!
-
Carbon F and F/Glass Tailgate.
Current weight distribution is 51/49 front/rear. I will have removed enough weight from the front of the car to make it 50/50 (bonnet/wings/aircon/engine internals/wheels) so a lighter tailgate will just redress the balance. I have no plans to use a GF tailgate - just test the mould. It's cheaper to experiment with than CF.
-
Carbon F and F/Glass Tailgate.
I have a spare mint tailgate, that I am about to make a mould from in glassfibre, so that I can then use the buck and play with making a Carbon Fibre replacement. I have a few questions. 1. Before I made the CF tailgate, I would make a GF test tailgate. Would that be strong enough to mount the standard rear glass? 2. Is there a replacement for glass that can be used that won't scratch like perspex? 3. Has anyone tried this before and have any tips or better still - bucks/moulds?

JAE vid is finished....
Ok Guys I give in! I have just costed up a DVD and I can do one for £7.50 including postage and packing. being a DVD with lots of space I could put on my Japfest and Thoresby vids and any good useable footage I have collected so far. If I get enough interest I will buy the stuff to make them. Not sure if I should create a new 300zx DVD thread or post on this one. Remember these will be the full size full quality vids not the 25mb low res ones you have already seen..... let me know what you all think?

JAE vid is finished....
Dave, if Eliza is who I think she is (standard alloys but very highly polished and looking very smart) then I have some nice footage. I just couldn't get everything in. I will make another vid soon with all the stuff that didn't make it into the first one.

JAE vid is finished....
Well next time you see me, come over and say hello. If I see a man hanging around your car- I will assume it is you - and I will say hello. I don't bite... I am actually quite friendly.

JAE vid is finished....
If there is enough interest mate, I will put a DVD together. I can include Thoresby and Japfest vids too.

Go easy on me guys.... with over 4 hrs of film to wade through some of it had to end up on the cutting room floor. but rest assured i did get every zed. i have more than enough film to make a part 2 vid and include any cars missed from this one, but it takes me about 1hr of editing to get 1min of film. I just wanted to get some film out there.

but its 317mb... http://media.putfile.com/JAE-300zx not sure what to do now. I can shrink it to 25mb to put it on putfile.com, or i can burn it on dvd but that cost me a shed load to give it to everyone.... any ideas?

JAE Vid
With 4hrs of video to wade through, this is going to take at lest a week to edit! But i did manage a real gem. I spent some time with the drift boys today and one of them let me plaster his car in cameras.... It will make for a real cool little vid.

NZR - need specialist IT help.
I need to find someone who can modify my flash website. I have now got the main framework in place I want to embed thumbnails of my videos, and have them play back on the TV screen. I am right at the edge of my flash knowledge now so could do with some help to move my project on. I know I haven't added the content yet - so please don't judge it yet, I am just making it functional first. http://www.exportexecutives.com If someone can spend a few hours with me I will happily pay for your time.

Oil on hard pipe?
Whistles like crazy from -7 psi to 0 psi - then it pulls like a goodun with no bad noises. I will tighten it up tonight and take it for a spin - I will let you know. As for the amount of oil - its not even a drip yet - but I am always checking the car over so I noticed it straigt away.

Oil on hard pipe?
It does whistle a lot, but I thought that was normal! performance seems ok.
