  1. If I were to buy a full set of leather seats, all manual (both drivers and passengers). in Black. Average condition - no rips or tears - minor wear on the drivers bolster... How much should I pay for them as a guide?
  2. To get a 3.5 second 0-60 time you need 400bhp/tonne in a RWD car. so you either have to loose weight or add more power. If we assume the standard 2+2 = 1590 kgs you would need at least 625 FWBHP Which is well within the reach of many cars on this forum. Losing weight is usually the cheapest option for mega performance. If you stripped out a 2+2 or started with a shortie slicktop weighing 1300 kgs you would only need 512 BHP to get the magic 400bhp/tonne and the same performance.... That extra 113BHP costs a lot of wonga.... so put your zed on a diet. Just to give you an idea of what other cars manage 400bhp/tonne BHP KGS bhp/t 0-60 0-100 60-100 1/4 mle Mercedes SLR McLaren 626 1618 393.11 3.53 6.82 3.29 11.50 Lamborghini Diablo GT 575 1460 400.16 3.50 7.00 3.50 11.52 Noble M400 425 1060 407.38 3.47 7.74 4.26 11.65
  3. I thought glow plugs were just for starting the engine, and filters were on the wrong side of the engine (induction not exhaust).... Just wondering why what ever it was - why we don't have the same longjevity in petrol engines... I would have thought high performance engines like ours which are made with fine tolerances would in theory last much longer than slapped together mass produced diesels - but there not. So what is it that makes diesels so good? I don't buy that myth thing.....
  4. And why are they capable of massive mileages?
  5. Selespeed is different, it doesn't have park, I just called alfa and they say you MUST stop the car in gear and a computer puts it in neutral when starting. My guess is it really is fooked, so I am going to stay well clear. Thanks for the help guys
  6. A guy at work has an Alfa 147 selespeed and he keeps having problems where he parks the car and when he comes back to it, it wont start again. He has spent thousands with alfa trying to fix it and now he wants to sell the car. I am interested in buying it from him but want to run a question by you guys first. Normal autos, you put in park when you stop. I asked him if he did that and he said no.... could that be the issue? Has anyone had a selespeed Alfa here? Do you treat them like regular autos and is he being a numpty? Let me know so I can pick up a bargain! Cheers Steve
  7. I am not sure this is quite correct. BHP measured on a dynometer does loose power through the transmission. The term brake is used because the rollers act as a brake and have a known resistance. so it takes a known force to turn the rollers you can work out the torque of the engine at any given rpm. I think the equasion to work out the BHP is (Torque * RPM)/5252 which is why the lines for bhp and torque meet at that point on a graph..... then again... I might be talking rubbish!
  8. How does this work? and what do you see on the screen?
  9. I am thinking of replacing the perspex strip at the back of my tailgate with a steel strip. What guage/thickness steel sheet does the zed body use? and is it the same thickness all over or are some panels thicker than others?
  10. Hi Leigh - I am happy to help out any way I can. I have made a few short films and have some good filming equipment. PM me to tell me what you are thinking of. Steve

  12. When I fitted my adjustable top arms and tension rods, my local garage charged me only £50 for a full laser adjustment as that was there normal wheel alignment price.
  13. I think the shape of the front bumper lends itself to the Murcielago bumper quite a lot. especially If you have side mount intercoolers. Does anyone know if something like it exists?
  14. Do replacing the Turbo pipes for hard pipes increase performance in any way? or are they just for show?

A really thick service wallet with every reciept spent on it. Waddya think?
