  1. Sorry Daz - Car Mad has taken the lead with this simple and effective plate.. F3 OOX currently leading....
  2. Don't mind that at all - good reason too!
  3. I should probably add that I don't actually mind subtle ones like: BA 3, FP 25 etc etc But as these type are usually hideously expensive and usually found on old Bentleys or Rolls I can forgive em... DAZ is currently the 'cool plate' leader with the slightly illegally spaced M30 ODL!
  4. I'm well aware that many people have private number plates on here, so i'll try and not be too offensive! Recently I've been weighing up whether to get a private plate or not and have been looking at a few possibilities, but mainly M300...??? Trouble is, when i see a BMW with the private reg X5 BMW (etc), I just think 'you :censored:' Or, if I see someone with the plate D311 BOY (I was trying to think of an example where the name of the owner wasn't quite so transparent, but more often than not you haven't got a clue what the plate is actually supposed to say), again, I just think 'you.....' So despite the fact that I think 'car plates' and 'name plates' are utter :censored:.. ..and the people who have them are utter :censored:.. I still would like one for my Zed. Which I guess, makes me a :censored: 1) What do you lot reckon (love em or hate em)? 2) And who has the best private plate on here? I feel a poll coming on.. Calm yourself missus, not that kinda poll:winkiss:
  5. 288GTO - one of the most beautiful ferraris of all time.. A true legend. Shame it wasn't left the way it was:crying: Wonder if the owner realises how much money he has lost by modding it?
  6. Nonesense my friend, the sierra was the XR4x4 variety and I spent over 3 grand on it - brakes, suspension and engine. Stuck like poo stains to a blanket! Admittedly in the dry there wouldn't be much in it. But in the wet you wouldn't see which way the sierra went, don't even get me started about in the snow:tt2: I stand by my comment:2guns:
  7. Here, here Get a preservation order instead! Bloody elf and safety Nazis, meh
  8. Thank you! Have to agree with Garry - nice to see so many well cared for motors. You don't have to be a petrol head to be a Zed owner - but it helps!! Great thread!
  9. Have attached pics of my sierra, if they aren't showing maybe a mod could help me out??? Can't be arsed setting up photophucket account - sorry Absolutely great car, would out corner the Z all day long... Until the dreaded tin-worm gotta hold of it...
  10. You'll have run out of things to do soon! Looks great - well done
  11. I didn't, but now I do! If you're still having problems with the fit try a big hammer. I always feel better after a session with a big hammer:hammer: Your bumper will probably look a bit:ohmy:, but you won't be feeling:death:
  12. Have some dignity man! At least wipe your wings clean befor taking some photos - I love my car too, but I wouldn't post up pics of her dripping in juice after some quality 'alone' time:tt1: Looking good tho:whistling:
  13. That is a lovely looking Zed - very original looking too, which is what I prefer. Those wheels are properly bling too, you must have a good buffing technique:winkiss:
  14. Possibly the fact that cheapo reproduction parts don't fit as well as genuine manufacturer parts:lol:
  15. Sounds like you're gonna need to uprate the internals. I'm certainly no expert on this, but you will want to upgrade pistons and probably the rods too. More aggressive cams and valve springs, injectors and probably swap the MAF sensor for a PAF sensor as I believe the Maf is only good for 400bhp+, not the 500 you're looking for. That of course leaves you a turbo and intercooler package to consider... My guess is you should probably look at buying an engine someone has already done the work on... or remortgage the house and do it yourself! Have a look through some of the members public profiles - if you have a look at the dyno table, the big hitters will have similar kinda mods that you're looking for/considering. Try not to get distracted tho:drool:
  16. You're brave! Minis to Zeds - not much difference really!!! How much power are you looking for and whats you're limit financially? Cheers bud
  17. Nothing worse than a car that's too stiff. My old XR4x4 was so stiff I had to loose the 17" alloys and stick the standard wheels backs on to save my spine being smashed to bits! Not very good for the car either as it rattles itself to bits. I have original equipment fitted to my car and its plenty stiff enough to cope with enthusiastic driving, but it does offer a little in the way of comfort. My advice would be to revert back to standard springs/dampers - especially if your local roads are crap. Make sure your tyres have a reasonable profile too, as they will further soften your ride. Hard and flat is fine on a circuit, but frustrating when you want to go for a chilled cruise. cheers
  18. DAB radio? DRAB radio more like:biggrin:
  19. Good idea.. BUT - why the fook are the alloys not photographed side on? they're slightly wrong which really, really annoys me. Has got me thinking though - maybe my Zed needs to loose those Jap alloys for a fresher more modern look. Think they date the car... Nice one
  20. Stress is a big contributing factor - if you do a lot of driving (for work) then this is an obvious cause of stress, but also things that affect your general well-being. For me, I'd been having a pretty bad couple of months - someone tried to break into my house, I lost my job and was obviously a little worried about paying the mortgage etc. I hadn't had a proper holiday in 4 yrs too.. Rather than being one single factor, it was a set of circumstances which conspired to culminate in stress overload. I wasn't actually feeling stressed immediately prior to the panic attack, but in hindsight, there were many things on my mind. I think though, once you've had one you can have a relapse just about any time with seemingly no obvious cause. The thing that sets me off now is mainly caffiene - try cutting it out of your diet and see if it improves things. Also consider that you could actually have something physically wrong with you, maybe get a medical opinion - if nothing else, just to eliminate some possibilites. Once you understand a problem it becomes easier to manage and control and eventually eradicate. Best of luck bud
  21. Nonsense - PS4 will be out in another 12 months and then we'll have to wait another 6yrs for the next GT6! Our grandchildren will be playing GT7 at this rate!! Pull your effin finger out POLYPHONEY DISMAL :hammer:
  22. Great thread! some great insights too.. I had my skyline 4yrs but ultimately wanted something quicker. My mate bought a R33GTS-t just to piss me off, which was obviously a lot quicker than mine. I knew I wanted a Jap car, cos my 'line had been so faithful and the engine was bomb proof. My mate desperately wanted me to get an R33 (presumably so we could be bum boys together!) but I fancied a change from a skyline (and besides, I could always go for a spin in his). It didn't take much to make up my mind on the 300zx. Its a very handsome car some 20yrs after it was originally penned. It could be a tad over engineered and a bit pricey to fix, but even after months of monitoring this forum befor I bought my Zed, it wasn't enough to put me off em! So after 5 months of looking at various shagged out cars, the right car came up - in bloody scotland though! Went to see it and the rest is history. My mate has now got a E46 M3 (but still got the GTS-t too) and he was less than impressed when my £3.5k Nissan whupped his £14k bimmer:gunsmilie: So far its been my best purchase ever! In fact talking about it has made me want to go for a drive, I'm off......
  23. I thought I was having a heart attack once, had been having palpitations for a few months (on a daily basis). Came home one friday after a very busy/stressful week and just after my Chinese my heart had a few lumpy palpitations then went beserk. Called an ambulance and when the paramedic turned up my heart beat was still 145bpm! I hadn't been looking after myself very well, not enough sleep, no regular meal times AND TOO MANY CUPS OF TEA (10+ a day). The paramedic man very politely told me there was nothing wrong with me and that it was probably a panic attack. I had no idea until then what one was. But ever since then its helped me to understand myself and how my body works.. I still get pangs of anxiety, but it never goes full blown now.. I started drinking caffiene free tea and that greatly reduced the anxiety, but just recently I started drinking full-fat tea and coffee again and guess what? I've started getting the pangs again. Should be a no brainer really, guess i'm a bit stupid sometimes. The best thing I found though, was talking about my problems. Turned out that a lot of my friends had suffered from panic attacks too. Some much worse than me. But it was very therapeutic and helpful to talk about them. So don't suffer alone and don't be hard on yourself either Daz, I think you'd be surprised how common they are. Oh and as for you Paul, try and have a nice time in the Maldives won't you! Maybe you could take some more pics of Mrs Paul C again, for next years Miss 300zx competition!! Best of luck bud, hope it doesn't become a common event!
