wheeler dealers
I like Wheeler Dealer... Well, I like Ed China anyway - the other guy is a :censored: However, every episode they fail to take into account the cost of Ed's handywork, which really gets my goat - especially when they sell for a £500 profit and start slapping each other on the back.. £250 for two weeks work? Don't you get that on the dole nowadays? They'd never take on a Zed - you may as well set fire to two grand if you want your fingers burnt! Even ed can't bodg.... fix an ailing Zed! Now then, lets buy a mini for £300, spend 2 weeks and £2000 fixing it up - then sell it for £2500! That's what I call profit, yeah baby!

Future Z owner
Any idea why its wearing a TT front bumper? Thought only th TTs had the IC strakes in the bumper? Not that I'm any great source of knowledge about zeds.. Looks ok, but possibly a bit cheap? A lot of car for £1500 quid and not a lot of info about it... Any service history etc? Defo have a look first

High speed snaking & now low speed too
Have you checked for free play in the wheels when jacked up? try pushing outwards on the inside of the frontwheels, when in the air, to see if there is any play in the front wheels/steering etc

Jail ??? Give him a medal !!!
Exactly. Round em up, stand em infront of a wall and..:gun_bandana: Nobody would be complaining when tax drops to 15% because we don't have to fork out for those little scrounging, robbing, vandalising scum... Social cleansing, think I might grow a moustache:saddam:

Jail ??? Give him a medal !!!
Fight fire with fire, I say If it teaches the little fookers not to do it, then I call it tough justice. Anyone who's had to put up with it will vouch for this. Its one thing reading about it, its another when its happening to you. One day that guy who 'flipped' will be me - and I'll be happy with 5 yrs. Fook the little chav fooks - kill em all:gun_bandana:

how many daily drivers are there?
I ruined a concours condition Sierra Xr4x4 by using it for work - it rusted to bits in the space of 3 yrs. Went to jack it up one day and pushed the jack through the floor:blushing: On the other hand, I used my Skyline everyday (I was running the Sierra and Skyline together for about a yr) and had no problems - I was putting about 20k a year on it though, so not really a great idea. It did end up looking a little tired after 4yrs - mainly due to other :censored: denting or scratching it. I'm not going to spoil my Zed though.. Most of my journeys in the Zed are A-A not A-B, but I do like a long cruise when the chance arrises. I would avoid running it on salty roads, definitely - even if it is undersealed. I have a works van and my girlfriends car at my disposal tho, so the Zed is an extravagant luxury really. Don't think my pockets are deep enough to run one all year round  which is a shame

How much is a zed worth in bits?
Have to agree with vodkaplops, Your car might not be perfect, but at least you know it inside out. If it needs tarting up then try that first. If you make the body work good you should be able to reclaim some of the money you spent, when you come to sell. If you intend to keep it indefinitely then it might be better to cut your losses. But you would need to throw in a fair wedge of cash (along with the value of your motor) to get a significantly cleaner car. 5 grand seems to be the going rate for a decent car, from what i can see. As Gary said - be wary of Ebay motors unless you can check em out in the flesh first. Anyone who spends that kinda money without seeing the goods first wants :gun_bandana:

Power Steering
Thanks for the generous offer, Recently had my speedo converted from km/h to mp/h by Zedworld. What I have noticed is that below 20mph the needle doesn't move then suddenly jumps up once you pass 20mph mark. Also (at around 100mph) the needle will fall off the scale and then pick up again - I thought this may be something to do with the conversion, but as it always rectifies itself and doesn't last long, I wasn't too bothered. Thinking about it now, the speed sensor is looking more likely to be the culprit, but won't be able to get the car jacked up anytime soon, cos of the hours I'm working. Car is a manual, BTW. Cheers

Jealous little muppets
Really gutted for you.. I know the police are generally as much use as tits on fish, but if you don't report the crime then you might not be doing yourself a favour.. I was having problems with little scrotes on my estate - same type of thing, acts of jealousy aimed at my few posessions. At first I got frustrated but didn't do anything, but as time went on it got more serious until someone actually tried to kick my door in (burgalry). Fortunately, I had reported most of what had happened. In the end I was so fed up with the little toss bags that I wrote a letter to my MP saying how she-ite I thought the police were in my area. This kicked up quite a stink - I had letters from all kind of authorities, offering advice and help. And now... unbelievably... you can actually see a police presence on our streets, not tucked behind a desk filling in forms for safe truncheon operation.. In the end I got high profile CCTV cameras fitted that glow (infra) red at night. Since then I've had no problems at home.. That said, I took the girlfriends car to ASDA the other day and guess what? Came back to the car to find someone had keyed that too. Missus was gutted, but what can you do? One day, just one day - you'll catch one of the little scrotes doin something - and then you'll be the one who goes to prison for GBH or murder..:hammer: There really is no justice in this country for decent, honest folk..

Power Steering
Right then, Went out for a run a week or so ago and just pulling out of a T--junction, the steering went very heavy (unassisted) for a brief moment. Then all was fine again. Went for another run yesterday (about an hour) and when I was reversing onto my drive when i got back, the power steering went again. Only this time it didn't come back to life again. Parked the car up, checked the fluid level and visible connections - all fine. Scratched my head for a bit, started it up - all fine again. Spookily I had exactly the same problem with my R32, which eventually went and never came back. Am I about to loose my pump - any suggestions. Cheers

I've been run over
Nah, don't press charges... Just wait for a really frosty night and empty 5 ltrs of water all over her path. Then go and visit her in hospital when her pelvis is fractured and exclaim your sadness at her unfortunate 'accident' and tell her you have no bad feelings towards her if she were to, unfortunately, heamorrage and die... :scared: :whistling:

Hi from a current Prelude owner
OK, your 'Lube has 150bhp/ton A typical N/A would have about 153bhp/ton On that basis, there's very little in it. However, if you add lb/ft into the equation you're gonna find in gear acceleration much superior - especially as honda engines are not renowned for their low-end torque! If you don't let the doom-mongerers (sorry peeps) lead you down the N/A route and choose a proper man's car instead - A.K.A the Zed TT, then things start to look at lot more impressive.. Typical TT will be about 190 bhp/ton and will have monster torque (think double what your 'Lube has). If you really need to scratch that itch befor the day comes where you have to hang up your sportscar keys for the MPV keys instead, then i suggest you go out with a bang and something you'll remember! The TT is like a drunk nymphomaniac, whereas... the N/A is a sober nun...

Private number plates - love em or hate em?
I'm inclined to agree - if it needs doctoring to look like an actual word then its just trying too hard to impress. I'm in a minority here too, because my name (all three letters of it) will actually fit onto any type of number plate. Thing is I don't actually want everyone to know my name - I prefer anonymity:ph34r: Also when a black zed is spotted dicking about in the middle of the night at an industrial estate, then the number plate would be much easier to remember by some do-gooder!! Despite the overwhelming favouritism towards private plates as demonstrated by this poll, I think I will leave my reg as it is... thanks for all the comments

Hi from a current Prelude owner
What you want is a Jap spec manual TT LWB... Probably in black.. With retro Jap wheels... Blacked out windows... OK, you guessed it. Good luck with the hunt. Spend as much as you can to get a ggod one in the first place, which will hopefully save you money in the long run. If you can, look at one with a club member - there's so much potential for crippling costs that it really helps if you know what to look for. Best of luck

Private number plates - love em or hate em?
Thank you, That is enough to convince me that I don't wish to be associated with the private plate brigade.. I shall never look at DVLA reg again... well, maybe...

bar the zed's
When i bought my Zed i was looking at 8 series too, damn fine cars - never had a test drive though. Only the V12 had a manual gearbox (only the 850CSi i think) and was a bit pricey. I refuse to drive auto cars for fun... Lovely lookin motor

Anyone want to buy a bit of 'Z' history?
