Hi all
I agree - don't leave anything to chance - get it checked over by someone competent. A small outlay now could save a whole heap of expenditure later.. I'd check the tyres very carefully too!

Tottenham riots
That's it guys - keep spreading the love! If you have a pest problem, you exterminate it. Why is this any different? Give the police real guns with real bullits and watch the fookers run! If Brussels have anything to say about it, tell 'em to fook off and mind their own. With a little luck, it will soon be the opinion of the masses - before these lot of scrounging/stealing toe-rags have a chance to over populate our streets with scum. Its really is very simple: Give the police these - And you get this - Give a policeman one of these - And you get this - Easy

When is the next Midlands meet?
Hopefully, I should be back in a few days and hanging around until the end of the month.. So, are there any meets coming up? Not been to any meets since the last Zedworld bash and it would be nice to have an excuse to take the old girl for a run out! Talking of Zedworld... Isn't it time for our summer BBQ  I'll bring some burgers!!

Which car do I keep? Do I set up my own business?
You don't need to be great with paperwork, just earn enough to pay for an accountant (who will probably actually save you more money than they cost). As for setting up a business, if you don't try you'll never succeed. But I'd still want to guarantee my income somehow (possibly with part time work) until I was up and running with my new business. What sector are you planning to recruit people in? Who are your clients likely to be? I'd assume you've already got the clients if you're seriously considering this? As for the car? Keep the Vectra - it looks more professional.

Radiator leaking
You sure its the rad and not the bottom hose? Jeff posted a thread about this recently - the vacuum created when the engine cools causes the bottom pipe to distort and leak..

is this normal for a z?
I get a dribble on my rear window when I boot it - but not the front..

Car Alarms & Additional Security
On my old Sierra the guy who had it before me, fitted 2 cut out switches. One for the ignition and one for the fuel pump. You needed to have 2 isolator keys to start the damn thing - both built into the dash. I had my Sierra broken into twice and both times its was still where I'd left it. On that basis, I would say they were pretty effective! I still wouldn't keep your car on the road though - not a chance. If its not someone trying to nick it, it'll be keyed within a week through some moronic act of jealousy. Leave the car at ya mum & dads - a bike is all you need in Sheffield

Just got back from Turkey, anyone missed me?
I really don't have any idea how you know these things Jane!

Just got back from Turkey, anyone missed me?
Lovin the new sig pic - that's much better! So let me get this straight - you paid a tenner for a quick 'ride' with a camel? You sick fook! :scared:

Just got back from Turkey, anyone missed me?
So that's what the smell is - I couldn't put my finger on it, but now it makes sense! Glad you enjoyed your holiday - is it dear out there? Or was it an all-inclusive? Need to take the missus somewhere hot for a beach holiday in Oct/Nov - so Turkey should be a nice 30-35 degrees by then! One more thing Daz, the ministry of infrastructure keep getting in touch with me - every time I have to load your signature pic, the whole of the internet in the UAE grinds to a halt.. Not that its big or anything..

MeisterR Widebody R32 is back!!!
I think the detail is fantastic on the bonnet, the rear wing and the pin stripe - its just those wheels. I think a hint of colour with maybe a black rim (something a little more toned down, basically) would do no harm at all. But full on red/orange is a bit bright. But then, there's no point having a car like that if you're a shrinking violet! Regardless, its your car - if it makes you happy to paint it poo brown, then that is your right to do so! In fact.. Poo brown skyline...

Warning!!! Rant
I thought if you hold her head under water for 3 minutes and she doesn't drown - then she's definitely a Witch. Give it a go, see what happens.

i think the time has come!
SilverBullit can do you a turbo recon (including an upgrade to 360 thrust bearings) for about 600 or thereabouts. Sounds like you've got quite a hill to climb - good luck! Might be worth identifying the source of that smoke though (before you take the engine out), just incase you miss something and the problem persists? Just an idea.
-
Thinking of buying turbo or not?
The N/A is the sensible man's choice. The TT is one for the true enthusiasts. Infact, in many ways the TT is much like a high class escort girl: she'll blow your mind and give you an experience you'll never forget - then she'll take all your cash! Test drive as many variants as you can. Apparently the SWB Slickie is the ultimate driver's car - I wouldn't know, I only own the 'estate' version! But it doesn't disappoint. And.. when the mood takes you, you can whip out the roof and go for a blast; even though it comes at the cost of ultimate handling ability etc, I'd still go for a targa - but then I would say that. Take your time and find the right car.

Looks great, shame about the Veyron Supersport wheels effort. Other than that, looks awesome!

Big thanks to Silckpete
Unusual name for a girl! Glad you had a good time bud - bit of quality family time is always priceless. Now all you need to do is stick up a few picks of your tan, just to rub it in a bit!!

Do you like this?
I think matt paint can look good - on a BMW M3 for example - but I wouldn't pay a premium for it though! I always think of matt paint being on the rat look scene..

300zx tt engine info
Why not wait til you melt a piston? You never know, they could be fine. Seems like a lot of effort required to change the pistons now, when they are in optimum condition, in an engine you know is A1 health wise. Get your mapping done slightly conservatively or with a reasonable safety margin and my guess is, you'd be fine for few years? I'm no expert in these things, make no mistake, but still sounds like a lot of effort, when there doesn't seem to be a lot else you need to upgrade at the same time..

Someone please buy this!
I wouldn't buy a car of that age - 1990.. Its one of the oldest zeds available. It might look nice, but vintage clocks look nice too. Doesn't mean they keep good time. If you were seriously considering buying a 350z or an s15 silvia, both of these cars would cost a lot more than 3,200. Why not spend the same money on a zed and get one you know the engine won't grenade after 6 months of ownership? There's no such thing as a cheap sportscar. They either cost a lot new, or cost a lot to maintain. Or both. OK, this example might be as advertised and a real gem of a car - but after what happened last time, I'm surprised you'd even consider it. Stick the money in bricks and mortar - house prices will soon be on the up again.

how many miles has your vg engine lasted
Why the imports more than the UK cars? Apart from the obvious like no service history, or service history in Japanese. I wasn't sure if you were insinuating that Jap cars are easier/more likely to be clocked? Reason I ask, I thought it was the series 1 & 2 cars which were really easy to clock? Like my Skyline - when I had the clocks changed from KMH to MPH they simply wound back the clock to read the correct mileage. Jeff told me it wasn't possible to do this on my '95 model without breaking it, but hyperthetically would be possible on earlier models? (Apologies Jeff is I'm mis-quoting you here) Is that correct? Or have I missed your point? Cheers
