Not really new, but finally a Z32 owner
Spent the day sorting out the MOT issues. Washer pump turned out to be a loose connection. Moved fog light switch to a more sensible position. Rear number plate light was a loose fitting bulb. Just the emissions to worry about now. Got underneath for a good look at the decats today and they don't have lambda sensors fitted. I purchased the old cats with the car and the sensors and snipped wires are still attached. Gonna be a pain in the arse to wire back in if she needs the cats for the test. Anyway. Tuesday is test day so cross some fingers.

average yearly maintanence pot
With any car I've always said budget £1k per annum for tax, servicing, and maintenance for every decade it ages. Not always strictly true, but it means I'm never surprised.

Not really new, but finally a Z32 owner
After a 500 mile round trip I now finally the owner of a Z32! Taken long enough I know. weddings/ house/kids kept getting in the way. Picked up a SWB, manual, na, slicktop yesterday. Many thanks to Tel (bartfaster) for the warm welcome and easy transaction. Couple of wee niggles to sort pre-mot. Anyone got a front washer motor going spare? Anyway. some pics. Apologies for crappy pics. taken on a mobile and its lashing down.

Chances of passing an Emissions test?
Didn't even get as far as emissions test. Did a check of everything before heading to test center and the front washers ain't working. So tomorrow morning will be fuse hunting then checking relays and motors.

Garage rent conditions, Need Help
Depends. Is it on private land? Your rental only covers the space the garage covers (unless specified seperately in a contract). If he has control of said land in front of the garage. He can tell you to keep it clear.

What does this do? (again)
Another Polish site comes up with a translation of some kind of "module relay"

drop curb
Only the council round my way are allowed to do this. So I didn't even bother getting a price after they charged us £1200 to move a lamppost 3 sodding meters (We expanded drive to a double drive the thing was right in the middle of our plot front). Robbing gits.

Chances of passing an Emissions test?
Yeah, I knwo about the pre-cat. It still has to get under 3.5% for that. Seems promising though. So fingers crossed.

Chances of passing an Emissions test?
I'm on a bit of a tight timescale to get this done in time to get the car to LakeZ hence the dumb question. Ok, so I just bougt a 95 na. It's been sat for over a year, but still starts fine. I'm off with a trailer to collect her on Thursday and get her to an MOT station at home. Time wise that's gonna be about 1600 so pretty tight before closing time. The car has no cats, and an aftermarket SS exhaust. Do we reckon this will just get in under the 3.5% or am i having a laugh? I can get a set of cats for it, but time wise getting them fitted and getting the car tested is really pushing it.

LakeZ 2013 - Free weekend for Z enthusiasts
That's a kicker Steve. Would have been good to catch up with you again. Number so far are looking good, with quite a few of the older models signed up. Best guess is around 50 cars. Just as a reminder for folks, this is a FREE to attend event, including FREE hog roast on the Saturday night. That alone is surely worth popping along for!

LakeZ 2013 - Free weekend for Z enthusiasts
Update from the main organisor: "Having been sadly reminded a couple of times of how fragile our mortality is recently my new motto is " Go for it". Those that know me will also be aware that I dont need a lot of excuses to throw a party. :D So,.... to keep the FREE theme going for lakeZ this year, not only is the camping FREE, and the band on the Saturday FREE, I am also thowing in the Hog Roast on the Saturday night for FREE. Having just checked the calendar and made a quick calculation I have realised I have a significant anniversary that week so thats a good enough excuse for me. So this is the schedule for the weekend, there are a few options so it would be good to have a rough idea of numbers and interest for each. If anyone who is attending can take a minute to add themselves to the list it will make planning a lot easier. Thanks guys. Friday; Arrive and check in/ pitch tents. Meet and greet at the Rose and Crown and dine there. Other food options are available from the local chippy or BBQing at the hall, not on the grass please. We dont have access to the main village hall on the Friday night but the facilities will be open. Saturday; Breakfast will be available at the pub which will stay open all day for snacks and refreshments. There is then a choice of organised activities. Subject the numbers we can have a session on the go-karts at Barrow, about 20 minutes away. !0 minutes away is the Haverthwaite steam railway. This run up to Lakeside and connects with the Lakes steamers which will take you to Bowness and Ambleside. Local mini buses are available but please book them yourself, I will provide the contact details. There is also a drive out on Saturday. Please remember you will only be able to do one of the options. Saturday evening is at the village hall, about 50m from the pub, this is also where we will park for the weekend. The Hog Roast will start about 7pm with the band(s) starting about 8-30. If anyone wants to eat in the pub first then let me know and I will book you a table. I will post the menus up when I am home over the weekend. Sunday; Breakfast at the pub and then its show and shine time. The pub will be doing food all day so its a chill out day. :) " Need some idea of numbers, so if people can do the names list below that would be helpful :)

LakeZ 2013 - Free weekend for Z enthusiasts
The clash couldn't be avoided this year. Myself and the organiser work on a boat in Scotland so we have to line the event up with our leave. Also the annual 350z-uk run is at end of May, so we need to give enough of a gap after that to still have appeal to the members there (we're both team members there and the event started as a 350z-uk event). I'll see what can be done for next year though :)

LakeZ 2013 - Free weekend for Z enthusiasts
More info; The pub has been completely stripped and re-fitted, its very good now. Extra seating and heat lamps are in place outside with a remote canopy. The food and drink are now excellent, even the prices have been reduced. I have power at the show area for those people with posh vans. *;) Raffle prizes are sorted. The village have been supplied with earplugs. Good weather has been ordered. *All boxes ticked I think. *:D For those wishing to eat at the pub on Friday night please pm me with numbers, it may be pretty busy so I will book tables. The pub is 50m walk from the village club we are using as car park and camping area.* There'll be options for activities during Saturday - A drive out, or karting (if numbers are good enough we'll run both).* Also you can do usual events yoursel - trip on steam boat at Windermere, and all that jazz.

LakeZ 2013 - Free weekend for Z enthusiasts
LakeZ 2013 will go ahead this year on June 28/29/30 Comments from the previous 2 years have been taken on board, and as such we have decided on 2 major changes. 1 - The organisor will charge nothing for the event - So that means free camping, free entertainment 2 - Change of venue. Comments about the previous venue have been acted on, and as such the full event has ben moved to Cark in Cartmel. Below is the plan as outline by the main organisor. I will keep this updated as and when things change. You can PM me with any queries or questions. Cheers Al -------------------------------- LakeZ will be going ahead under a slightly different format for 2013. I am constantly trying to keep costs down for this event and this year I think I have made a significant advance. LakeZ 2013 will have no entry fee for the event, no entry fee for the band on the Saturday evening and no fee for camping, sorry that the best I could do. The rough format will reflect that of previous years and is again a social weekend in the Lake District, a chance to chill, meet other owners and enjoy the area. If you dont have a car or its not on the road feel free to come along anyway. The big change is the venue, it will be held in Cark in Cartmel in the South LakeZ which has all the facilities we need and has plenty to offer nearby. Everything is within a 100m radius and there are lots of options for those who dont like camping. Friday, for those who can get the day off arrive and get settled in. Meet and greet at the local pub which is being totally refurbished to a very high quality. Great food available and if the weather is playing the game sit outside and take in the rays. Rose and Crown. Saturday, several options. A drive out up the west coast with great roads. 3 mile drive to pick up the local steam railway, this connects to the Windermere steamers. Stop at Bowness and Windermere for refreshments and some retail therapy. Saturday evening. A meal in the pub followed by Bands playing on the local stage with a full bar service. Sunday, Show and shine and then chill out until its time to go. Breakfasts will be available at the pub and there will be refreshments all day. Alternatively there is a well stocked local Londis so for those who wish to bring your own beer to the Band night, no drinks brought into the pub though please. Most of the local pubs have accomodation and I am happy to give reviews, there are also several local B&Bs and a few rental houses withing a mile. One even has six bedrooms taking 11 people which works out at about £44 per person, Friday to Monday. A great option if you can get a group together. Book early though, its the Lake District. The parking area we will be using is tarmac and pretty big. It does have two small speed bumps but even I can get over them. Once parked up the cars will not need to be moved as its private. Any questions just ask. :) -----------------------------------------

How the bloody hell did I end up sunburnt?! I don't remember seeing the sun for too long at all! Anyways, thanks for all those who came. I hope you had a great weekend. Rest assured the show will return once again next year, but will hopefully be bigger and better.

LakeZ 2012 June 30th-July 2nd
There'll be a few people who wont go on the drive. If it's anything like last year there was about a dozen people left around through the day.

LakeZ 2012 June 30th-July 2nd
Hi guys, I believe Martin already cleared this with Vodkashots at some point, but we've been so busy with work that neither one of us has had chance to post up here about it! --------------------- I am pleased to announce that the LakeZ 2012 event has now been confirmed at the Heaves Hotel near Kendal for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the weekend of 30th June. The venue is very car friendly and hosts many car meets and shows during the year. The RS owners attend with around 200 cars every year and are very well looked after. There will be a drive out for those that want it. Camping is an option but there are limited rooms at the venue and plenty of other options close by. The cars can be safely left on site to allow those staying elsewhere to have a few drinks. You will be about 30 minutes from the central lake district so lots of things to do if you want to nip off for a while. Last year many enjoyed the trip on the steam train which connects with the lakes cruises on the saturday. Alternatively there will be a drive out on the Saturday to take in some of the great local roads. I am hoping that the Scots members may travel down for this as they miss out on many of the big Jap shows down south. Heaves Hotel Near Kendal Cumbria The Hotel will be providing light refreshments and snacks during the day. There will be a band performing on the Saturday night and the hotel will be providing a buffet at £6 per head. Camping for the weekend is £5 per person. Showering faciities and toilets will be provided. There is a general entry cost of £10 per person for the weekend. So for those who want to camp the total cost for the weekend will be £21 which includes the buffet (£6) and the band. For those that dont fancy camping there are plenty of options with a big range of pubs and hotels in the area. I have a local minibus that will transfer people back and forwards at mates rates. The hotel are happy for you to use BBQs as long as they arent directly on the lawns. You can also bring your own refreshments but please note, dont take your own drink into the hotel for the band on the Saturday night. The hotel bar is very reasonably priced. The local Asda is only a few miles away. I look forward to seeing many of you there and hope this is an event that will get established and grow year by year. Please feel free to register your interest on here and I will update the names list on the first post to save the thread becoming a tedious list of names. ---------------------------------- The format will be very much similar to last year, though a little more refined in places, and hopefully with better weather! The raffle prizes will be considerably better, and will have some special prizes courtesy of NMGB. Any questions can be sent to me via PM or email. I will do my best to answer them quickly. I know this is quite short notice, but it's a cheap weekend and a generally fun one.

Just crashed the 350Z !
I've been the victim of this too (thankfully at much lower speed). Glad you walked away unscathed though. Maybe your insurance will cover you for a courtesy car until they cough up the insurance claim

Hi and good to be on here.
Hey boss, good to see you got your registration sorted. For reference - All the credit for LakeZ goes to Martin here....I just help out with logistics and ideas when I can and on the day. Martin is the brains behind the event :)
