  1. why would you want a 3.5 rover in? Most powerful one made was 190bhp, it will be slow as hell. Small block chevy, ala MantaV8 ;) In fact save yourself the hassle and just buy his lol.
  2. This thread is much funnier than the video
  3. No difference, doing it manually will probably only slow it down. Flick it into the power setting, O/D off, away you go.
  4. as above, and is that front bumper staying?
  5. Good news Chris. You sent that stat out for me yet mate? I haven't recieved it yet, causing a bit of a holdup :/
  6. CRT deffo for that price mate, LCD and plasma TV's are crap for standard definition stuff which is what you want it for. Can't make any suggestions of models. I know the Toshiba PictureFrame3's were the mutts nuts in its day, not sure if you can still get one new, might be achievable for 500.
  7. sounds like a lot, but its if you have larger pieces stuck in the strainer that you should prepare for the impending death of the box. I'd start saving the pennies either way.
  8. possibly the nicest 300zx i've seen, that was one of the first I saw back in the day.
  9. cheers for the tips, done most of that anyway, only cut the pas belt off though, got pissed off with the stupid adjuster, if they are cut I can't hang them on the wall as a souvenier of having done something techy :p

    can.. worms.. oh dear.
  11. I don't doubt it, the next one in the queue has jubilee clips on those hoses anyway so wont be an issue :p Any other great tips which will save me hours while we're on the subject :p
  12. nobody likes a smartarse ;)
  13. cheers daz, i'll take a closer look tomorrow.
  14. My 91 import's ones don't light up :(
  15. Only taken me 2 months because I didn't have the parts I needed, that and a lack of motivation. I'm doing another one directly after, his needs to be done in a day, easy ;) Oh and that top water pipe is a son of a bitch to get back on eh! I lost my rag with it, had to clamp those stupid hose clips open while pushing it on, clearly pushing wasnt going to do it so ended up using the trusty old mallet to pound the heck out of it, but while doing that the damned clamps kept flying off. No stat or ATF cooler today :( I guess tomorrow is final assembly day instead then. Its looking a lot more like an engine bay again now, top hose, ptu and wiring in place. Is it normal for new belts to be a lot tighter than the old ones? I slackened the adjusters a lot to get the old ones off, they were very loose tbh. But putting the new ones on was a lot tighter than I expected, and they seem to have good tension without touching the adjustment, in fact the fan belt seems too tight, going to loosen it in a bit. Probably do it tomorrow though, going to the pub instead, I need it after all that :p Oh yeah and another question, routing the pipes for an external ATF cooler, how do you get them past the a/c condensor into the front? I can't seem to find a way through, and passing them under the crossmember doesn't seem like a brilliant idea.
  16. Had a look, everything seems in order, anything im looking for in particular? Only things to note being TPS is at 0.46v at closed, should be 0.44 but tbh probably makes 0 difference. o2 sensors - both working and swing properly, however they both keep going right down to 0 and staying there for a little. I've not seen any that do this before, could be normal though. Water temp increased 5 degrees during your bout of speed, 87 is still a good temp though, nothing to worry about in that area.
  17. no the software is right, its the convertor which fooks things up.
  18. Off all the time? It will only come on when you give it some boot, if its off all the time you're in safety.
  19. yes, set the datascan speed to kph, the reading you get is actually mph.
