350Z or S2000?
like you I drive a van daily and have a 350Z GT Roadster for the good times. I've had it 3 years ansd still love it every time I get in it. I keep saying it's going to go this year but then I go for another ride. For me it beats the Z32 hands down but my lad doesn't agree. It's all a matter of taste. The one big advantage to me is minimal running costs over the Z32 which always gobbled money.

Three large paddocks are available for show cars. Hard standing is available for heavy vehicles and bikes but your own stands would be an advantage. There is ample off-road parking for ordinary road cars. We are prepared to make Club Areas available. Banners may be displayed and small marquees/gazebos erected by prior arrangement. A trophy will be awarded at each event for the car and the bike that the judges would like to take home and also for the best club display. Vendors will have hot and cold food and drinks for sale at reasonable prices. Undercover facilities are available if the weather is inclement. There will also be a licensed bar and a band. Come along for an informal get together to discuss, display and admire all things motor related. There will be an entry fee of only £2 per adult all parking is free. This show is organised by petrol-heads for petrol-heads so come along and enjoy. Any suggestions for improvement together with constructive criticism is always welcome. Zedfest 2012.......
Here it is. No need to jump forums. It will be good to get this forum there again. ZED – FEST 12 Once again I am pleased to announce that the above event will be held at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Mansfield Lane, Calverton, Notts. NG14 6HP on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10,11 & 12 August 2012. Please note that the date has been brought further forward to avoid the clash with JAE. For those of you who are new to Sherbrooke there are 22 acres of grassland plus a five acre wood.. There is one clean but basic toilet block with loos, wash basins and showers. There is a modern barn and social centre with outside patio area and picnic benches. Oil drum BBQ’s are freely available. We will have excellent catering on site. All main meals plus snacks will be available at reasonable cost between 8am and 10pm. There will not be a bar this year. You are encouraged to provide your own drinks (we do request that you try to avoid glass bottles). We will hold an inter club sports competition with some “easy” motoring related sports. Your cars will be on show for the whole event and judging will be held on Sunday lunchtime followed by prizegiving. Fancy dress on Saturday night is optional. Background music for the entire event will be provided by our very own DJZ complete with lazer and smoke show. There will be dancing on Friday and Saturday nights together with a live band on Saturday night. There will be an entry fee charged of £15 per person for the event. You can pay at the gate. Camping will be £2.50 per person per night. Caravans & mobile homes admitted at extra charge ( hook-ups are now available). Small children and pets free. Local hotels and B&B’s are available but you are requested to make your own arrangements. Please be aware that the main paddock where you will park up and pitch your tents will be a ‘quiet area’ All gazebos etc for evening gatherings should be set up in the central paddock to avoid undue noise and disturbance. TRADERS; All club traders are invited to attend. You can set up your own display, big or small for a donation of £20 for the whole event. Come and meet your customers in a friendly convivial atmosphere. It’s good to see the voice on the phone or the finger on the keyboard. If you don’t want to set up a display a gazebo and a banner will suffice just come along and show your customers who you are. Free car booting for non traders to get rid of those useful parts you no longer need. Once again I will need the help of volunteers to assist with the smooth running. It is always good to see new faces helping out. There is still much to plan and new ideas are always welcome. Please mark these dates on your calendar, this will be a weekend to remember. Further information will be circulated as it becomes available. All enquiries to me, “Arkwright” email: shop@zclub.net

My lads car insurance
On top of the above get him to take the Pass Plus Test most insurers give a discount for that (I think his driving instructor can carry out this test).
-
My lads car insurance
Always check comprehensive quotes. They are very often cheaper than tpft for some reason. Add mum or dad as a named driver this usually lowers the cost considerably. When my lads were younger Endsleigh was a good insurer they specialised in young drivers/students. I think Admiral now add young drivers to their multicar policies (may be worth a phone call rather than computer quote) but make sure it's worth your while changing.

350z
I've had a 350z roadster for 3 years now. Best Z I've ever had. Not going to knock the 300 as I love the shape but I wouldn't have another after the 350. superb trouble-free motoring which means a lot these days. There was always something to do on the 300 only put petrol etc in the 350 in comparison. I just love it. Prices are very good for purchasers atm and there are good deals to be had. High milage seems no problem with the mechanicals. good advice from the owners club site and you can get various add on parts to improve styling, performance and handling if that's your bag mine is standard and I love it.

The Bathroom.......
you can get aquapanel cement board (like plasterboard but a bit more expensive) to use in damp places such as showers, behind bath etc not absorbent like plasterboard and you can still stick tiles directly to it. Also make sure if you use that flexi waste pipe that it is well supported to get the drop you need. It will sag and cause run back into the large shower waste which doesn't have a proper trap possibly causing the shower tray to fill up rather than drain away. It's preferable to use hard pipe and bends if possible.

Monthly Sunday afternoon meet in Notts
MONTHLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON / EVENING MEET AT CALVERTON NOTTS. We would like to invite you to attend the above meet which will take place on the SECOND Sunday of each month at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Mansfield Lane, Calverton Notts, NG14 6HP from 3pm onwards (Next Meeting Sunday 13 November 2011) Over the last 6 months our monthly evening meet at this venue has proved very popular and we have been requested to continue into the winter months. To this end we have booked the Camp Centre which as many of you will have seen is a large centrally heated meeting room which has plenty of space. We can still use our usual paddock to display our vehicles and clubs and of course the usual prizes for the best car, bike and club display will continue as before. So, if the weather is inclement we can be inside and warm. You won’t have to go home if it’s dark as we can stop until late. Jacks Snacks will provide hot and cold food at reasonable prices. There will be an entry fee of £2 per person which will be used to cover the hire of the building and heating costs. Signs will be out as usual at the crossroads with the B6386 and the Yellow ‘Event Here’ signs at the camp entrance. Please drive SLOWLY (5mph) down the camp drive (remember the speed bumps) and turn right at the end towards the paddock and camp centre where you will be asked to pay before parking up. Retain your entry tickets which are numbered as there will be a prize draw during the afternoon. I realise that some of you will be parking your precious cars and bikes up for the winter but please feel free to come in whatever you like. We want you to have an enjoyable time and we need the bodies to make the event a success. Many local car and bike forums have indicated that they will attend. Come along for a chat / social and let’s keep the momentum up over the winter months. The only don’ts at this event are NO SPEEDING on the drive and NO WHEELIES. Please turn up and have a great time. Any help, advice or constructive criticism contact us at nottscarshow@hotmail.co.uk. Date of next meeting Sunday 13 November 2011. 3pm onwards.

monthly evening car & bike meet in Notts 28 Sept 11
Hello All, Well that’s the last evening meet for the year over and done with. I would like to say thanks to everyone who has attended and helped make this event a success in its first year. Wednesdays car the judges would most like to take home was BeeGeeVinz’s red 300ZXTT The bike the judges would most like to take home was won by a Lambretta scooter with almost as much chrome and mirrors as Vinz’ Z. (I must apologise as I can’t remember the owners name but I think he belonged to the Mansfield Road Runners scooter club. The winning entry ticket was held by Wooley from Club DIORI who made off with a bottle of whisky. The Best Club Display was (eventually) won by Midland Scoobies who have consistently fielded the most single marque cars at all events and at last purchased a banner to tell us all who they are! It has been a pleasure to meet so many like – minded car and bike enthusiasts over the last six months. For those of you who are putting your cars and bikes to bed for the winter I hope you will turn out and meet us all again next year. If you are carrying on motoring then read on. During the evening I spoke to a lot of the people present and the consensus was that most wanted to carry on meeting during the winter months. To this end I have spoken to the camp warden and we are welcome on the Second Sunday of each month from 3.00pm until late. If the weather is suitable we will continue to meet on the usual paddock (unless directed elsewhere). If it is cold, wet or anything else horrible then we will have the use of the social centre which is well – lit and has central heating. Remember everything comes at a price and so we will have to revert to an entry fee of £2 per person attending (to cover use of the building, heating and light etc). Instead of paying at the gate, please drive slowly down the drive and turn right at the end towards the social centre where I will expect you to pay before entering the usual paddock on the left. Once again retain your tickets as there will be a prize draw during the evening. I will try to maintain the trophies for the bike and car the judges would most like to take home and also for best club display . ‘Jacks Snacks’ will attend these events and provide hot and cold food and drink. If you are stopping late remember to use him as if he’s not selling then he’ll go home. So, the next event will be held at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Mansfield Lane, Calverton NG14 6HP from 3pm until late on Sunday 9 October 2011. See you all there.

monthly evening car & bike meet in Notts 28 Sept 11
Notts Car & Bike Show, Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Calverton NG14 6HP Wednesday 28 Sept 2011. NOTE: this will be the last event for this year. Once again there will be prizes for the Best Club Display, and The Car and the bike the judges would most like to take home. Hold on to your entry ticket for the final prize draw. Remember the nights are drawing in so we will start a little earlier at 5pm for those who can make it. I will have the floodlights switched on so we don’t have to close down too early. Stickyfingers will be there selling hot and cold food and drink. Last months Best club display was won by the Mondeo ST Owners Club, the favourite car was a yellow Lamborghini and the favourite bike was a red & white Yamaha R6. A young lady won the entry ticket prize, a Ryobi tool box.
