Monthly car and bike show at Sherbrooke Scout Camp Calverton NG14 6HP Just a reminder. The next meeting at Calverton will be on Wednesday 24 August from 6pm, Remember to hold on to your entry tickets as there will be a prize draw about 8.30pm. Last months ticket prize was won by a skyline owner who received a De Walt tool kit.. The trophy for best car went to a Honda Civic and best bike to a Bandit. Best club display was won by the RS Owners club. Come on peeps get your flags and banners etc out, put your club top of the list.

I used them when a dumb delivery driver scratched my capri with a roll cage. They made a superb job and I was even more chuffed when the delivery firm paid for it.

I have a 350Z roadstar and without a doubt it is the best nissan I have driven. It seems all you need to do is fit a more noisy exhaust than the standard one to get a really sporty sounding car. I've owned and driven all others and they don't compare. The thing about the 350 is that you are going to get reliability and performance from a near standard car. There are loads of mods available if you need to go down that route but after owning your 300 you are going to have money in your pocket again if you buy a 350.

Notts car and bike show JULY event. Hello everyone. The next evening meet will be held at Sherbrooke on Wednesday 27 July from 6pm. The burger van will be present and soft drinks will be available but no bar on this occasion ( my fault, - administrative breakdown). Two judges will ‘volunteer’ for the evening and a small trophy will be awarded to the car and the bike they would most like to take home. A trophy will also be awarded for the Best Club Display. Hold on to your entry tickets as each one is numbered. At 9pm a number will be called and the winner will receive a valuable prize. Junes event was a bit wet but we still had about 50 cars. The car trophy was awarded to an immaculate Austin Allegro. The bike trophy was not awarded as none turned up, probably due to the weather. The Best Club display was won by Drive It Or Ride It.co.uk with a very impressive turn out. The raffle prize, a nice tool kit, was won by a member from the Notts RS Owners club I hope to see you all there, help make this the top event in Notts. We have the top venue.

just to add: Do everything in writing and keep copies of all letters. If sending off death certificates, grants of probate etc ask for them back. All these people need is proof of death and that you are the responsible person to contact. They can make their own copies, remember all yours are originals.

Some people when they die appoint an executor to sort out the will, if this is so that person will be named in the will. Assuming he led a 'normal' life and left a simple will it should be easy enough to sort out. Assuming you are volunteering to do it you first have to register his death and then apply for probate. You will need several copies of the death certificate (usually more than they give you) and also copies of the grant of probate. You need to inform his pension providor of his death and request his pension to date. You need to tell his credit card providors and ask for an up to date statement of what he owes. They will need to see copies of the grant of probate and the death certificate, you agree to sort out his will and pay them from his estate. They should not charge interest after his death. Tell the bank but bear in mind they will freeze his account and you can neither withdraw or deposit anything. You may have to set up an executors account which they should do for you and make no charge for its use. (I don't know what to do if it's a joint account with his wife). His estate is responsible for his debts ie if he has HP Credit cards etc any outstanding amount must be paid before the estate is disposed of. If he has left everything to his wife and children then they get whatever is left after his debts are paid. It's a bit more complicated if house, bank account are in joint names but you will find a lot of useful info on government websites and you should be given relevent leaflets by hospital, undertaker etc. It seems complicated at first but it's not too hard to sort out. I would try to avoid solicitors if possible, they know how to charge and bleed you dry. Keep receipts for EVERYTHING even car park tickets etc. Expenses can mount up considerably in some cases. It's not nice to say but when a family member dies the vultures come out of the woodwork. HTH

I can only report on this from a conversation with a mate who was hoping to have a wood burner but gave up the idea when he reached the point you're at. The flue liner has to be smooth, not that crinkly steel stuff like gas fires. There is a severe risk of fire in the flue from combustibles lodging in it at bends, gentle slopes etc. You can also burn the 'wrong sort' of wood ie that which gives off a lot of sap or whatever which will lodge in your flue and set its own fire in there. I can't be more precise but it is difficult to get the flue right for a wood burner. I think he got his information from his local fire prevention officer at the main fire station.

THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY 22 JUNE 2011. From now on the meetings at Sherbrooke will be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month starting in June. Thanks to everyone for your support so far. The reason for the move is to avoid a clash with the Griffins and to get an extra show into each month, hopefully increasing attendance.

if you look on ebay you can buy ex police vans quite cheap and many still have the cage in the back. Ideal place to keep the mother-in-law and free up a room.
