I'm only trying to be helpful here and not critical. I see it appears your insurance co. has 'classic' in its name but are you sure you have a classic car policy?. Whilst I appreciate all peoples circumstances are different your fee seems quite high for a classic car policy plus you say you have forfeited your NCB. I haven't owned a 300zx for some years now but I don't think I paid that much for a normal policy. My classics insurances are considerably less.

If I were you I'd read my policy conditions very carefully. As Richard says it's rare for a classic policy to cover you for travelling to and from work and also for carrying goods or tools for work. You should be looking for what is written and not assuming it's OK because it's not written. This is only how I interpret my own insurance policies but you need to be vary careful with a classic. I feel that if you are a working man with a Stagea which you use for work then you should have full insurance. You may also find that your classic should be a car in secondary use to your main car once again as Richard has stated. When insuring a classic I've found it best to use a broker and divulge full details rather than an internet site who maybe don't ask the correct questions. I know there are big savings to be made on your annual policy but if the worst happens they'll drop you like a brick.

KARTING. On the Saturday afternoon a karting event will be held at Amen Corner Kart Centre about 10 minutes drive away. The proposed format of the event can be either of the two below depending on the most chosen option by you! I will need a list of names of those taking part ASAP and you will need to pay a deposit of £25 via PayPal to: shop@zclub.net giving your forum name and proper name and address. Please add you name to the list and race option you would prefer once you have paid the deposit. Amen Corner Karting has a 550m pro-kart circuit, I have been here before and it’s a great track with some flat out straights and exiting the final corner! (If you have the bottle!)They have a great set up and it’s well run. Here are the two race options we could choose depending on the consensus! The double sprint format is pre-bookable in advance as a private session. It will consist of two 15 minute sessions with a short break in between. The karts will start from the pits with a small gap between them and be scored on fastest lap. Each driver will get a print out of their lap times A trophy medal will be given to the fastest driver. Format - Two 15 minute sprint races with a break in between. Costs - £35.00 per driver. Endurance racing is a team event where the group is split up into a number of separate teams (min 5 max 14) which race against each other. Each team consists of between 2 or 3 drivers (up to 5 max if at least a two hour race) and operates a single kart which is shared between the team drivers on a rota basis. First a practice session is held where all drivers get at least 5 minutes circuit time to perfect their skills before the main race. The grid positions for the start of the main race are determined by lap times in practice, the team with the fastest lap gets pole position, through to the slowest at the back (out of harms way !). After practice there is only one long endurance race, the object being to get the most laps on the team kart in the time available. The team with the most laps wins the honours. The race is from a standing start and team members are left to themselves to control their own driver changes. Obviously pit stops are required to change drivers as they tire, each driver staying on the circuit about 5 to 10 minutes at a time before changing. Trophies are given to the winning team members. Minimum event is for 5 teams racing for 60 minutes including practice (min 7 teams at weekends). Maximum is for 14 teams and as long as you can afford. COST - £70 per team for first hour. If there were teams of 2 this would work out at £35 each which is the same as the double sprint format but you get longer racing time and more fun with pit changes etc! They can also look at the lap times from the teams during practice and then move people around to even up the team average times to make it fairer. NAME OPTION (double sprint or endurance)

Band for Zed – Fest: Martinmac has booked the band for Saturday night. Known as ‘The Business’ they are a local group who play a variety of popular music and are a good nights entertainment.

Concerning the above. The Z club always ran a show at Billing to which all other Z Car Clubs were invited. Latterly this devolved into the 'Z00' meetings, sadly they ended as together with other reasons Billing increased their rates and we failed to find an organiser. This slot in the calendar has now been taken by The LakeZ meetings and very good they are too. Also running in August is the Zed - Fest meetings once again organised since 2006 by Z Club and to which all Z Car Clubs are invited. This event was always hugely attended by the 300zx.co.uk club until about 4 years ago. This years event is once again being held on 8,9,10 August. Full details are on the National Events Section. This years event is supported by 300ZX.co.uk, The Z Club and 350Z.com It is supposed to be a tribute to 25 years of the 300ZX marque and your committee have voted a good deal of money into its running but so far there are very few names from this club. Guys, the events are out there and are great fun, but you have to attend to appreciate that and make them successful.
