  1. If you want nice colours check out the HOK range: http://kerrycustoms.com/PAINTCOLORS.html
  2. Welcome, I'm intrigued you went from a fast manual MR2 turbo to an auto FTO.. paying more insurance (surely?) yet opting for a slower car! hehe, but I must say I have always had a liking for the FTO's interior, noise and appearance. The 300zx might not feel as nippy as your MR2 did in all honesty but the top end is brutal once you get to 120 or so. I'm planning on upping my power soon as I can because the 280-300bhp has become tiresome already. It's not a light car so don't expect it to feel like a light car, it feels more like a meaty cruiser. If I was going to the expense of buying an ex-supercar I think you'd want the whole package so buy the manual and don't shortchange yourself buddy. I picked mine up in immaculate condition for 1500 pounds. When I say immaculate I mean not one speckle of rust anywhere on the body - it has a few niggles but nothing major so far!
  3. holy crap that is one ugly .. thing
  4. I'm one for giving people benefit of the doubt - it's best to see where everything acctually lies once the facts are on the table instead of guesswork. I can fully appreciate though that the fella who has potentially lost 20k must be seeing red though :-( I don't envy you and send my sympathies!
  5. yep, ill be going for one soon - you buy them from Zworld I think, black perspex strip :)
  6. Get some better tyres that's the first step I'd say.
  7. I'll admit the top end pull is impressive - and in a way it's good that its lazy up there, it makes you feel so comfortable doing insane speeds. Oh yeah Baz, I sent you an email :0)
  8. I think the performance is up to par for stock boost levels, it has enough pull to kick the back right out in second and sometimes in third with good tyres. 0-112mph it is exactly identical with my friends 303bhp R34 GTT so I know it's going strong for a 1992 car. However his feels a LOT faster inside even though it's not it proprely belts you back once boost comes on, but mine doesnt have the same excitement it's just lazy :p
  9. Ah no it's not so much acting like a douche, its also for my own benefit, im used to cars feeling exciting and the 300 just doesn't.. it manages things too easily :p So far I have falken FK452's and they rock, give just the right amount of grip and let out very smoothly
  10. Right, loving the 300 power.. but there's one thing that nags me. It doesn't feel as fast as it is. Some cars like evo's type R's etc FEEL fast even if they aren't hugely quick. I understand a bigger turbo (perhaps a T28) would result in a bit of lag then a kick in the kaboose, but is there any other way of getting that? Will jumping the PSI from stock to 15 result in the same effect? Passangers get bored despite me being good at getting the back out around corners
  11. Few things just now.. Ganador mirrors, DC2 recaros, veilside EC1 spoiler, 99 spec front end, midnight purple or black respray (still not decided) and some low offset 18's :)
  12. would you honestly bed that which is illustrated?! *shudders* but no, that sounds overall like a better time :)
  13. It's fair mate - at the end of a day when you think you got a bargain theres a 9 in 10 chance you don't. I just like to gamble now and again ;-) but yep I've been bitten too aswell as been successful. Good luck finding what your after :)
  14. ah glad to see its a common issue... hehe right well boot viagra it is!!
  15. boot lock no worky :( Thanks for the info, I'll give nissan a call .. and get out the lube whilst I'm at it ;) What's the deal with getting the spoiler off does it just pull off?
  16. :p you know what I feel like a complete retard... I just tried pulling the cable whilst someone else opened the boot and up it went ... tut tut but on another note how do i get the rear spoiler off? and given it's a pre-facelift 1992 model will it have the perspex strip behind the rear spoiler as standard?
  17. Help meeeeeeeee I can't open my boot! The cable still has adequate tension to release it, and pops off the petrol cap.. well it would if the cap had pins keeping it in place :whistling: Anyhoo the boot wont release, also I've tried the three keys in the rear barrel but it seems corroded and wont budge  Any other methods or cracking the nut?
  18. Aw I wanted these but just didn't have the coin at the time.. they look a great buy - but buddy don't be scared, coilovers are very easy to fit - the tricky bit is setting the ride height but getting them on is eaaaaaaaasy as pie! It'll all make sense when you take your current stuff off, the new stuff bolts in place of the old stuff in exactly the same places :) Get a mate to help you when popping the coils back in and raising the hubs so you can rotate them as needsbe
  19. tis true, but then I've had an A1 condition 50k mile EF9 SIR civic in black which was so clean you could eat your food off the suspension... it was like it just came out the factory, that cost me 300 pounds with long mot and tax. I also had a midnight purple 180sx kouki which was again, mint with a funky old owner for 1k. Cheap buys can be good..
  20. I got my first Z a few months ago, and despite insurance being substantial etc. it's great. Cost me 1500 quid, it's a 92 with 60k miles, not one spec of rust - has some rare JDM wheels and awesome falken tyres. The only thing that's gone skew-wiff has been the starter.. which mysteriously fixed itself. It's not overheated or broken down yet, It's brill fun in the snow and has taken a bit of a hammering to 170 on the clock and still felt fresh as a daisy. Yes its nosiy, yes the prop vibes a bit, I cant open the boot and I have to rive open the petrol cap.. and yes it looks like pants (due to car-wall interface) but for 1500 quid I've only had 2 better cars for the money (but then i used to find some crazy bargains). I'd keep your eyes open 3.5k seems a lot of money for a TTZ - spend as little as you can as you'll wanna spend big bucks making it 'your' Z :) best of luck
  21. nice one mate.. me and my mate are on even grounds just now he has a 300bhp 1998 R34 but then I'm still completely standard short of an airfilter and cat-back. Whoever hits the pedal first takes it. It's wierd his feels a lot more urgent in-car, and mines is very uneventful.. But what amazes me is the speed these 300's can do.. I was once having a little bit of fun on a local empty bridge and when I looked at the speedo I suddenly realised that the car has a lot of potential!!
  22. now THAT is inspirational!! talk about going above and beyond normality
  23. Agree totally - It's definately one of those things you need to be dead careful with, some have it and it looks horrid, some have it and it's drop dead gorgeous, very much depends on the wheels, ride height etc. whether it'll pull off, but when it does :cool3:
  24. hehe I wasn't to know it'd be quite so bad
