  1. Very sad news, my Condolences to his family and friends.
  2. Nope Its a fail bud, if the tester actually notices it that is
  3. Just because :) ! Any corrosion, damage or deliberate modification within 30cm of a prescribed area (ie. suspension, steering, brake mounting point) that is considered to weaken the vehicle structure is a fail item. That includes a hole caused by rust or as you suggest cutting a hole in the panel. To repair a panel that is holed it would need to be seam welded, unless the section you are replacing has been spot welded then that is considered acceptable. In general if it is a patch repair it will require to be seam welded. if you are replacing a full panel spot welding or a combination or both is acceptable. Bolting or riveting panels are not methods normally considerded acceptable unless the vehicle has been manufactured by that process.
  4. Sounds like a good idea, unfortunately theres no way of doing it without ending up with an MOT failure next test.
  5. Congrats with the job!
  6. Thats funny I never noticed her eyes until you mentioned them, cant think why :D
  7. As stated there isnt any real change to the failure criteria, just clarifys things for the tester. So it all depends on whether your exhaust is really noisy, or If the tester lives close to you and you wake him up every other night . On a similar note more and more police forces and local councils are getting their hands on sound meters. They are attempting to reduce the complaints they receive regards boy racers and noisy exhausts, so anyone with a loudish exhaust may end up being checked as well.
  8. SPANKHERSADVENTURES.COM ??? What sites have you been trawlling then Alan

No it aint set in stone, and the reason we are meeting over in the Glasgow side is for benifit of the guys in the west coast so if you cant make it theres no point in us coming, we can arrange a change of date time for the benifit of all! Good to hear your back soon, will you be here for the 20th? as it looks like the date will be getting changed Andy / David you change of date so you need to come up with other excuses ......then again David after your soap comment you probably better not go any further west than Harthill. Seriously can everyone interested in this meeting post up whether they prefer the 20th, 28th or any other date for that matter

lol it's only single shot, and .22 just aint got the stopping power of 7.62 :)
  19. As stated most cars are already tinted as standard. Some believe it or not nearly to the legal limit but most around the 10-15% mark, even fitting the lightest available tint makes most cars illegal. As Znut says it does affect visibility, no problem through the day but once it starts to get dark its a different matter! Ohh and the police dont need a meter, thats only there to confirm the actual light transmission. They only need to think your vision is being impaired through the front or front drop glass windows to take action.
  20. That would seem to make sense, but given the age of these cars most still fitted with original bushes are likely to be shot!
  21. Depends what your after with the tension rods. If you want to keep it standard you will need to buy the full rod, I dont think Nissan supply the bush seperately. There are after market bushes you can buy, but there have been issues with ones which dont allow enough movement causing the lower suspension arms to fracture. The other alternative (and best option imho) is to buy aftermarket rods that have rose joints fitted at the front. Leaking sump pan, sorry havent had any dealings, but if its just the gasket it should'nt be too big a job. Rusty sills, thats a different story altogether and has probably seen more Z's sent to the crusher than any other reason. How bad are they? you might get a better idea of the inner sill sections condition by removing the rear trim and front seatbelt assemblies. if the inner sections are away its a lot of work to do but far better to do it right than just slap patches over the outer sill to hide it..
