  10. On the off chance anyone can help Im Swapping the cd player in the Z to one I removed from my old daily driver before scrapping it last year. Its a Sony cdx 600r, Ive lost the manual and cant remember the sequence to enter the code. I know its not a code as such its just a matter of pressing keys on the remote control unit that comes with it. Any one know the correct sequence ( tried the sony site but it dosnt list the player)
  11. Another way to look at it is, there is no guarantee that after spending 5 or 6 grand on a "sorted" car you not will need to fork out another 2 grand on repairs 2 months down the line. Lets face it these cars aint new now and things can go wrong. You pays your money and take your chance, it could be folk just want to keep some dosh in reserve for the unknown :).

One bit of advice is dont just rush out and buy the first one you see, unless you can tell its mint that is. these are old cars now so you have to check them over carefully

I dont know the car, but welcome to the forum and hope you get sorted out with a car.

  16. Thats exactly the kind of thing i'm looking for. cheers!
  17. lol yeh mods like that
  18. Sorry I thought I had made myself clear, no its not a drive against all mods. There is nothing wrong with modifying provided its done properly. what im on about are things like cheap suspension parts that have failed because they are not up to the job ( there have been a few instances now on this forum), taking a hacksaw to coilsprings instead of fitting lowered uprated units, jamming on larger wheels resulting in the tyre shredding etc. tbh most of the stuff im on about hopefully is unlikely to be carried out on Z's more Corsas, Saxos anfd the like. Fortunately im not on any of those forums :D..... Im just looking for examples to help our guys to explain what can go wrong if things arent done properly. Im sure he has :)
  19. Due to the high proportion of young drivers involved in serious accidents our local police forces carry out events and presentations every year in an effort to reduce the casualties. The organisation that I work for get requested to provide some involvement in these young driver safety presentations. We give advice on some of the legal aspects with regards maintaining cars including modifications and point out some of the dangers of carrying out such work improperly . As is usual whith teenagers, half the time it is obvious that its a case of in one ear and out the other, so this year I would like to provide some real life examples to drive home the point. Im looking for photographs of modifications that have gone wrong things like using cheap parts from ebay etc that have failed, mods that have not been properly thought through or have not been done properly leaving the car in a dangerous condition. I know there have been previous posts with photos of such items but I really need the owners permission to use them as there is a chance that they could be used in posters nationally. Obviously there is no need to identify the vehicles, its only the resulting defects I'm looking for. Any help would be much appreciated
