  1. £1500 ffs you could get big brake set up for that! Either buy second hand calipers and take your chance or refurb yours. Get a caliper overhaul kit, if your pistons are badly pitted you can buy new ones relatively cheaply. Or buy reconditioned calipers, new discs and pads at less than half the cost you have been quoted. http://www.biggred.co.uk/nissanshop.html http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/contents/en-uk/d9088.html

 just what I was thinking, funnily enough! Ok we will go with the Tuesday and Davids suggestion of Halbeath, normal meeting time of 7:30. Will you have transport to get there Athene, do you need one of us to pick you up ? Hope you can make it as well Dan, always good to see new faces p.s. My Z is in bits again so will be over in the daily runner

Yes makes perfect sense. though if you do want to try to see if one fits you can try mine. A spare is always worth having for an emergency, next time you might be in the middle of nowhere without a phone signal. And you dont want to leave that car lying around unattended up on bricks, cause its sure to attract the wrong sort of attention

There wasnt, but sounds like there is now :), I'm off all next week :hyper: so no problems with meeting at Dunfermline. Hows about the Tuesday night ?. Im also planning to have another run through the glens in May, just like last year, possibly head towards Fort William for food this time, or if the weather permits take some burgers and have a barbeque. Andy (berrica) has suggested a carting night for one of the meetings, who's all interested?. This might be one to arrange towards the end of the year though, save us freezing our nads off at some car park.
  6. I used a big C clamp and socket to change one of mine, with some smacks to the hub with a hammer it eventually came out. Id be very wary of using a lot of heat on the alloy hub.
  7. Provided the lights work, the beam pattern is not affected and they are aligned properly, they would pass an MOT. The only way you are going to tell whether the beam is ok is to try it. For comparison best to try it with the original glass first that will let you get an idea of the pattern, cut off point etc. Just line the car up in front of a wall or garage door then and switch the dip beam on, fit the new covers then try it again.
  8. Not an MOT failure bud. But best to renew them they are there to help prevent dirt etc damaging the damper rod and seal.
  9. It's looking good Andy. Ive not forgoten your request for the next meet.....honest!
  10. hmmmm! same garage in Parkstone the last 5 years, sure you aint got something going with the tester???? Just kidding mate :) well done!
  11. Welcome, and your added to the list
  12. Stressed components shouldnt really be welded, and when you see the state of the fractures on these you wouldnt really want to weld them. Far better getting a hold of some good second hand ones
  13. You didnt look hard enough ;). http://www.biggred.co.uk/nissanshop.html
  14. Poor brakes could be down to seized pistons in the calipers. Its pretty common on these cars now given their age. You can buy the seal kits from here http://www.biggred.co.uk they are pretty cheap and good quality kits. The vibration could be down to warped discs or to the tension bushes as has already been stated, however after you mentioned the creaking sound there is a possibility that your front suspension arms are fractured around tie bar mounting. Mine were making the exact same noise that you describe. Have a look at this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=22382
  15. Added to the list :)
  16. Yah fooka! had to click didnt I, ended up having to shut explorer down
  17. Just be aware that the earliest date you can take your car for test and preserve the expiry date is 1 month minus a day. If you take it in any earlier you lose the additional time and the test will only be valid for 12 months. Lots of people get caught out with this and lose out on the extra month for the sake of a couple of days.
  18. hmmmm hard choice, at first thought mabe pink, wasnt 100% then Athene mentioned she looked like a she could swallow, now im 200% certain its pink for me!
  19. lol I take it that was on the wat to the meeting. The tops are off
  20. Ed Davies is what he uses on the site, but I havent seen him on here for ages. Yes Falkirk is a fair bit to the south of Aberdeen. its between Edinburgh and Stirling, about 2 1/2 hours away if I remember rightly.
  21. Ed Davies is the only member that I can think of up that way at the moment, unfortunately he isnt on here that often.
  22. Sounds like youve lost your crown Mike
  23. Or better still take it with you ;)
  24. Just wait till you see the interior all lit up with blue led's, I might just take the title! Fingers crossed you get it sold before heading over, but if its not sold can you not leave it with your family to sell for you?
