Could be stuck Caliper pistons (very common on the zed), or leaking master cylinder seal (allows fluid to leak past the piston, reducing braking force). To check master cylinder seal, when stationary press down hard on brake pedal and hold it there for about 10-15 seconds. If the pedal stays firm and in the same position then its fine, if it starts to get lower the longer you push it then fliud is leaking past. I dont think the zed with stock spec setup has the initial "bite" that modern cars have (personally i prefer that....it gives a more progressive feel and u know whats happening). This can lead to people thinking the brakes are not as effective, but its stopping distance are still pretty impressive. p.s Heard lots of bad stuff on the ebc pads for the zed.

More important than uprated brakes and suspension. Nothing will affect handling like the difference between budget and quality tyres. They are the only 4 pieces of the car that touch the road, it pays to pay.
