  1. The Carbing's are $300 each. $600 is a Lot of money for something that is going to have very minimal effects, if noticable at all.
  2. The only way for clear tail and indicators lights is DIY. 99 Spec lights are clear indicators only.
  3. Have you checked that ? They are the same insurance group, and a UK TT would probably be cheaper than an Import NA !

Little black box, mounted on side of block near throttlebody. Check its voltage with multimeter. Use earthing point on Battery, and positive probe on middle wire on the TPS connector. A reading of 0.44v +/2 0.02v is expected. It can be adjusted by undoing the screws and changing its angle. If you have general idle problems, then best to check this guide : http://home.swipnet.se/e-solutions/IdleTech.html

Welcome lev yashin, 300zx.co.uk buyers guide here : http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm Description of Model variations here : http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm Karl, Have you checked TPS (throttle position sensor) reading. Should be 0.44v (+/- 0.2) ?
  6. The boost controller wont bypass the sensor. What it will do is prevent the ECU from being able to restrict boost in safety mode as ECU can no longer control the boost. It will still retard the timing, and reduce performance though. Personally, I would bypass it with the resistor, and then if you ever need to have the engine out or other major work later on, then get the Det sensor replaced at that time.
  7. Cant tell which Filter that is, you can only see the back of it.
  8. No, as already said, Code34 means there is a fault with the Sensor or Wiring....it does not mean you are getting detonation or anything else is wrong. It simply means the ECU is no longer gettign a reading from the Det sensor, the only reason for this is that the sensor itself has failed, or the wiring between the ECU and sensor has failed. Cost is around £100-£1150 for the sensor and hardness plus labour, which is quite extensive. (somebody recently paid £600 parts & Labour). Or bypass it, as per this link : http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html (its very simple to do. Just Solder a 1megohm resistor to the connector.
  9. A Chip will not help with a faulty det sensor. You either need to replace the Det sensor and wiring , or bypass it. Details here : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=45438&highlight=code34
  10. Smithy for the pipework.
  11.   Not a pretty sight Have you had another insurance valuation/expection ?

    Ahhh...love at first sight
  13. But the Spanish word for "Bat" is "Bate"... It would appear that the name was taken from the Fighting Bull, who was named after the spanish word for Bat....even if "Bate" is Bat. oh I dunno. lol
  14. The Foam filters like the HKS are not particulaly great at filtering dust particles...and foam is a natural absorber of moisture.
  15. 93c sounds pretty hot coolant temp though. My normal running temp is 73-77, and I never seen it go past 79. I wonder if the ECU restricted boost becuase of the Coolant temp reading ?
  16. Apexi is the most popular, and came out Top in Tests.
  17. 15mins. Comes with Instructions. Basically remove couple of old fuel lines that run across top of plenum, fit new ones. :)

Your could be getting 380bhp (flywheel) if everything is setup correctly...which its not as ECU not remapped. You should get an uprated ECU Chip asap (not very expensive - Under £100). The car will not be running sufficient fueling and timing maps for the increased boost. Bigger wheels affecting speedo - depends wether the correct external cirumference has been kept the same. Whats the Full tyre sizes ? Speedo will be pretty inaccurate at high speed anyway.
  19. If you have a boost controller fitted, it wont be able to retard the Boost, only timing. Code 34 is not detontation..its a failure in the connection between ECU and Det sensor.
  20. Same. Never liked the Countach, but the Diablo..Mmmmmmm
  21. The car will run fine in Safety mode, but just with greatly reduced performance. Code 34 - det sensor. Is a common failure where either the Det sensor or wiring to it fails, putting the car into safety mode. Its an expensive repair, or it can be bypassed very cheaply. You would be suprised at the amount of 300zx's for sale advertised across the country that are in safety mode. New owners would'nt even know. Until they discovered the problem, had it fixed, and were blown away by the new performance.
  22. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=48584 The Chip wont prevent spikes, it ensures the car is running the neccesary fuel maps for increased boost. 12psi would be of the scale on stock gauge (all the way to the right).
  23. More than likely in safety mode, Done an ECU check ? (only takes 2 mins)
  24. Sounds like a boost leak, get yourself one of Vijays Boost leak detectors if you have'nt already placed an order. but seriosuly get an aftermarket boost gauge ASAP, its crazy to run increased boost with stock gauge. Its VERY inaccurate and does'nt read in PSI or Bar. You could also be getting boost spikes and would never know (goodbye engine and/or turbo's)
  25. I thought other cars and Ques were for overtaking
