True.....its far too easy to dimiss their reasons and blame it on a religeon or cultural belief we do not understand, or even on lack of intelligence and narrowminded education. I notice JD did you chip..was it mapped for Optimax ? Do you have experience with hearing detonation ? Your more likely to get detonation in higher gears, low revs, full boost. Good news though - Soon your local tesco's will be stocking 99ron fuel

General concencous is that if your Tubs are good, then decat is fine. If there knackered then decat helps finish them off. It is a very worthwhile modification, not nessarily for the power gain, but for the improved throttle response and quicker spool up. Water soak can be a problem when the splashgaurds are missing, and vented nose panels dont help, but its the Foam based Induction kits that suffer the most. The Apexi is the safer option there, and with splashgaurds in place you wont have problems.

IIRC = "If I ReCall" Have you had any excessive smoke or noises from the car before or after the turbo failure ? I'd wait for somebody that knows more about Turbo failures to offer a diagnosis, or take the car to one of our specialist traders to check, as you may be lucky and find that its not turbo failure.

Have you asked Mike @ MJP. He is the our UK Trader for New parts, and Im sure he will know the part you require without partnumber and would be cheaper than Courtesy and Nissan when you take into account Import duty and delivery.
