Found this thread...but like every oil quantiy thread I've seen it gives conflicting answers ! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=958 3.7 litres (with oil filter change) sounds about right though. I know I have just under half a litre left of the 4 litre container of Castrol RS I used last time. I guess the best way would be to put in 3.5 litres...let it settle for 10 mins, then top it up as required, leaving it a few mins inbetween.... till its the right level on dipstick.
  2. That sucks :( :headvswal Sorry to hear
  3. Looks like I've been a follower of the FSM religion for years, without reliasing.
  4. Its held in at the front in two places....in front of each bucket. You need to lift at the front in those two places.
  5. and some further varations. Using the Official Nissan font.
  6. Have a good time, see you when your back.
  7. Yes, I agree too. 'A' with different font. Z, on its own is correct. Its what you have on the bonnet badge from the Factory (all except UK, which has Nissan) and on the steering wheel.
  8. One (if not THE) more popular exhaust choices for the zed. Its probably the quietest and most subtle looking too. All depends on what you want out of it, but if its a Well made SS exhaust with a subtle sound and visual improvement over stock, then yes its the ideal exhaust. If you want something a louder and more prominent, there are various other options, although I'd be tempted to go for a Custom made one from somewhere like Alunox (sp?)
  9. One side of mine worked its way loose, and resulted in a spray of sparks at night travelling down the motorway as the remaining screws and the tray dragged itself along the road. Had to rip some of it off at side of road in order to get home.
  10. Did you take the car up to 2000rpm+ and hold it there, and check if the o2 sensors signals were moving in a continous sweeping motion ? It wont actually tell you, other than you watching the Signal to see what its doing.
  11. Yes (at least if not this zed, then another), and by then it will probably look nothing like it does now. As said above, there is'nt anything for any sort of reasonable price (even 3-4x the value of a typical zed) that interests me as a replacement. (and would'nt ever want to downgrade to the 350z ;)) Its the car I wanted for many many years.
  12. Not quite, a Rear wheel drive car with Wide tyres in the snow is very different to Most cars (FWD car with skinny tyres)

  14. That Bmw vid was awesome. Strange mix of cars - Bmw Compacts, 3 series, Clio's, Porsche 911's and were those others Maseratti's ? It said 320i, but it was seriously shifting. He was outbraking, out accelerating and outhandling everything on the track

  17. Im 26, 4yrs NCB, fully comp on Jap TT and pay £650 a year. Limited mileage policy. - Admiral.
  18. http://www.petroldirect.com/ I can't believe how cheap they are - I ordered thirty litres of super unleaded and it was there, next day, left on my doorstep in a 2 litre plastic container. They even sell petrol with NOx already in it which saves on the costs of an expensive conversion ! and if you don't mind driving slowly, the Ultra Low Cost Value Unleaded is amazingly cheap.
  19. I've got it....but I've started getting a continous but random spout of bounced back messages. May not be related to this new version, but its certainly a coincidence.
  20. Will it affect reliablity...well running a "resonable" amount of increased boost on an otherwise stock engine could affect reliablity...will it affect it to the point of it being noticably more unreliable...I very much doubt it. The zed Fragile like the Rx7 ?....No, not at all, the far opposite IMO !. Many are at the age/mileage however , like any car, where things that are due to go wrong, can start to go wrong, unless already rectified. One thing to add, is that a Decat, can "potentially" affect reliablity...If the turbo's are already on the way out, this "can" send them over the edge (reduced backpressure affecting worn turbo oil seals) ..oh and if its a Manual your after, then the Clutch can start to give up once boost is increased. If its an Auto....well that gets really expensive :x:
  21. He does'nt stand a chance. There is VERY little cause for driver in front to be at fault in a rear end collision. Did he accept any blame at the scene of accident?, if so, be sure to include his admittance of fault in your accident report, and be sure to report the accident to the police (its the law to inform them within 24hrs, and the Insurance company will ask for Police case number).
  22. I personally would'nt bother with fitting 6x9's to the front. A Decent set of 16.5cm components will sound better and easier to fit.
  23. Heard ya the first time  Yeh I watched it to. The GTT does have 280bhp I think (the R33 GTST only had 250bhp), but yeh as usual, they dont know what their talking about. :headvswal
  24. All down to Personal opinion. Check the Rides section for Engine-bay pics, many have the same setup you described.
