  1. I have these. They do work as a bandaid to worn subframe bushes, but they also offer less bodyroll and less wheel-hop when accelerating by getting rid of the inherent play in the floating rear subframe. They really firm up the handling at the rear, without really comprimising ride or noise. Everyone has them in the states, top product !

Yes, you'll want to replace shocks and spings. Both will be past their shelf date by now. You can get aftermarket for about the same cost as original. Smithy sells KYB AGX adjustable shocks for £310 delivered. Very popular, recomended and excellent value for money. Pair a set of Eibach springs with them for a decent setup. Also have all your suspension bushes checked, and if you have extra pennies left then a set of uprated (stillen or whiteline) Adjustable Anti-roll bars make a superb handling improvement.
  4. John Dixon, Friday and MantaV8 are the guys to speak to about V8 transplates in zed's. They are all curently doing v8 transplants on theirs. Which year/model corvette is this out of ?
  5. you need to edit your profile to change email address. Should be under the quick links menu option above.
  6. Looks like a good turnout. Good to see ChrisC's car on the road again :D and Steve300zx's looking very clean.
  7. Does anyone know if the black line of tape that sits in the swag lines on body can be removed easily without damage to paint ?
  8. yes you did, look its written right there ! :xxx:

99% of the time it means low PAS fluid. The sensor is very sensitive, even if it drops slightly below full it will go off.
  11. Does anyone know of a picture of inside the door, with door card removed that shows close up of the door lock barrel and how its connected to the rods. Trying to fix door lock on Wife's NA, its never worked since had car, and there is a cobra alarm installed. Have taken door card off and none of the metal rods are going to the lock barrel and cant see anything that should obviously be attatched. Looks like the Cobra alarm installer has redesigned the mechanism to work with the alarm. Really dont want to have to remove my door card to compare
  12. You should try it in a Manual, all that extra power going to the rear wheels and no slippy torque convertor means the tyres are lit up and the back end is fighting you with sticky 265 rubber on stock boost. Tyre choice makes a big difference. Worn shocks, rear subframe bushes, and hicas arms/bushes will have an effect on the rear end breaking sideways and overall traction. You can fit 255(maybe 265) on a 9" wheel so yes, 235 not a problem. Tramlining should not be an issue with 235 fronts on the zed, and is more indictive of worn suspension components.
  13. If you want the original style then Zcentre http://www.zcentre.co.uk sell fibreglass versions (as well as aftermarket spoilers)
  14. pmsl..what a twat. A poor attept at an insult, which is more of a compliment as it turns out. If you see him again shout "yer but your car cost a lot less than mine new!"
  15. Correct, I have no 1st hand experience of testing uprated SMIC's and FMIC's (does anyone else here have experience of both? ;))..but everything I posted was from the mouths of those that do have far more experience than anyone in this country..and a lot of it is obvious stuff  I'd still quite like a FMIC though :x:
  16. LOL :D Now get some sleep !
  17. FMIC blocks rad...at least 1/3rd of it...sometimes more depending on what fmic. That is fact. Its obvious by just looking at one fitted. Greg Dupree runs 9 sec quaters with SMIC's, as does Escort racing. The two fastest zed's there is with smic's !? True, they have much more experience of FMIC vs SMIC over there..thats why they recommend SMIC ;)
  18. Mer is old skool. Used to be top quality, but it outdated now in comparison. The Meguiers range is superb. Zymol also excellent, but very expensive.
  19. stock gauge is crap 0.6kpa is 0.09psi (so I presume the gauge is in kpa x100 = 9psi)
  20. Travelled from Dundee to the south west yesterday to collect a set of Leather seats for his car, and very helpfully collected a set of Series 2 seats from another member on his way and bought them down to me. Poor bloke had been driving since 9am when he arrived at mine 10pm last night, and was heading back home on a non-stop drive. Hope you won your bet bud !
  21. The J-spec gauge reads from -7 to +7 in units of x100 mmHg 7 x100 mmHg = 13.538 psi
  22. Mart, what are the current problems. Turbo's need replacing? - what are the symptons? Engine running rough ? Have you spoken to Jason @ southwestzeds.com ?
  23. SMIC Pro's Provide all the cooling you need Easy to fit Minimum pressure drop = quicker spool Con's Dont have that "cool look" factor FMIC Pro's Have that "cool look" factor Con's Restrict Air to rad. Must have uprated Rad and fully efficient cooling Require Repositioning of oil cooler More pressure drop = more lag Wont fit behind all bumpers May require removal of Front foglights FMIC are popular on Straight 4 and 6 engines. The V6 should be treated as 2x 1.5 litre engines with seperate Feeds for both ;)
  24. Perhaps you should put this in the "Wales" section :x:
