  1. 7:30am....definatly another Imposter!
  2. You'll be in safety mode (retarded Timing, 6.5psi boost and richer fuel maps), probably since last owner had it. Once fixed there is a massive difference in performance :D Have seen a drop of 80-100hp in safety mode on the Rolling Road. New Fuel temp sensor, and bypass the Det sensor.
  3. That is correct. If they dont move, then you have a problem. By default datascan only shows the Left hand sensor, you need to go into the settings and turn on the Right hand sensor too, so you can check both.
  4. Mini-Mini Zed meet this morning. Funkysi pops round to show up my Zed's with his shiney paintwork and Fantastic! Newly refurbushed Alloys. While mine in particular is looking dirty and dull and sorry for itself :( Damn you funkySi!
  5. Hi Dipone, Yes, you could connect a Carputer to the pioneer avic x-1r. Presuming you already have the Pioneer unit, then you would be better of selling it and replacing with a Carputer and VGA Motorised Monitor that will have far more functionality than the Pioneer at half the price, and a better quality Picture from the screen too. Unfortunatly Datascan is not supported by the MS Pocket Operating system. David
  6. Normally takes 1-2 weeks in my experience to receive the docs back
  7. Definatly Maf. You should find that between 2k and 3k its very rough, and you cant get it to rev past 3k at all. I destroyed mine after getting it water soaked, 100 miles form home. Which meant 5th gear, 1900rpm for 2 hours to get home, racing trucks on the Motorway
  8. You Could also consider a Set of Eibach springs. They are only mildly lower than stock, but have progressive fronts and are suitable for stock shocks. Its pretty much garaunteed most of the zeds on this forum that are running with an original stock setup have worn shocks and springs, well past there time. Replacements, even stock shocks and springs will transform the ride and handling. Typical lifepsan for suspension components on a sports car weight 1500kg is going to be around 50-60k. Much less for suspension bushes.
  9. Most probably. However its always a good idea to improve cooling and the Koyo is such a quality item.
  10. You'll need a crank pulley tool. Available at Halfords and other motor factors.
  11. Full Funcionality : http://home.curl.aunz.net/tpkolo/Functions.htm But in summary, its a diagnostics tool that allows you to monitor your car, and diagnose problems. You can see Outputs such as : - Water temp (far more accurate than the stock guage) - o2 sensors (common failure causing Rich fuel mixtures affecting performance) - TPS (affects idle and gear shift on autoboxes) - Injector duty cycle, Volts, and many more... ..evenr when your driving with a Laptop or Carputer. Check ECU for error codes, and reset. Do Performance tests, 0-60mph, 0-100mph, 60-100mph ..etc Workshop diagnostic tools such as being able to switch of Cylinders to diagnose misifiring problems, adjust timing, datalogging, ....etc Its customizable, allowing you to change the way it looks and what information you would like to see.
  12. ok, sounds like a plan. Group Buy open till Bank holiday Monday.
  13. Not a conclusive test, but thats about 1.5secs of the pace :( N/A rather than TT performance. Did you try the ECU test yet ?
  14. Congrats, nice looking example. Sounds like something is up, a standard TT is faster than a WRX. Most likely problem will be that its in safety mode or has a boost leak. I take it this was the first and only 300zx you test drove. Does it only have stock Boost gauge ? If its not in safety mode or does'nt have boost leak, then Failing Autoboxes can also affect performance, or Incorrect fueling from lazy o2 sensors or Temp sensor., First thing to do is an ECU check : http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html
  15. Well a N/A converted to TT in the UK is very very rare and your unlikely to come across one. Its a massive job, not as simple as a straight engine swap. The only ones I have heard about in the UK is a couple of Convertables, converted to TT as the convertable only came as N/A. VIn plate will tell you, if you think you have come across such a vehicle, although Im not sure the exact VIN number differences.
  16. Last chance....Nissan Datascan & Cable group buy ending Saturday ! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=70544&page=2&pp=15
  17. I think you have the wrong idea about imports ? They come in Auto and Manual, just like UK spec. Mine is a Import Manual LWB TT. Most 300zx's are LWB Imports, and becuase of this there are a lot more Import manuals than there are UK manuals! Insurance is the only reason to consider a UK over a Import, and thats only if your very young, as for anyone over 25 the price difference is neglidgable, or non existent. The Import advantages are usually lower mileage and better condition. The two most import points IMO. No reason to limit yourself to UK or Import.
  18. Wether the car is real or not....That first picture has been photoshopped for some reason. Presumably its not actually a volvo. Just a fibreglass "volvo'ish" body on a kit car ? In which case, there is nothing very impressive about it IMO
  19. Same bumper as fitted to quite a few zed's
  20. That is nice. Would rather have the Fastback myself though.
  21. Hate the Tweed (first thing I changed), orange indicators (same for all cars) and the stock rear spoiler (ugly dated thing), targa roof. Love the Road presence and performance. The strap is for strapping the targa's down ;)

Do you mean the Coilpacks ? The 300zx uses direct ignition. A coilpack on each sparkplug instead of a Single Coil/distributor and HT leads. You can get replacement coilpacks and connectors from one of the Zed breakers(used) or Mike @ MJP (new). They tend to breakup and corrode overtime from the engine bay heat.
  23. yes thats what my times are recorded with. It will be as accurate as your Speed sensor is (which at 60mph should be pretty correct). It starts the timer automatically as soon as you start to move, and stops it as soon as you reach 60mph (or any speed, as its fully customizable) Far more accurate than using a stopwatch and watching your speedo.
  24. Did part of this work involvesuspension component changed without a proper suspension alignment ? If so, then you dont want to remove steering wheel, you want to get suspension alignment done.
  25. Safety mode will cause vehicle to run a little richer, but not to the point where it will cause smoke. Most code34 problems are intermittent (bad harness connection), however resetting ecu will usully give a code 55, until you drive the car and attempt to boost, at which point it will jump into safety mode again.
