tunning the zed, whats the next stage??
Faster in the real world, where there are corners and roundabouts :) Without spending a fortune : KYB AGX Shocks with Eibach springs Whiteline/Stillen Antiroll bars Energy Suspension Polyeurothene Bushes Brakes...Stocksize I would recomend Brembo Plains with Hawk HPS pads....or if you want the biggest benefit then Skyline GTR or 350z brake setup.

tunning the zed, whats the next stage??
The Turbo technics Stage I's are Stock turbos with staggered seals and 360 bearings..but with stock Impellors, shaft, housings ? With Larger injectors (555's) and larger SMIC's Your looking at a max of 17/18psi before they are too far out of there efficiency range from excess heat. I personally would'nt go any higher than 16/17psi, but you have to consider if the power increase of a couple of psi is worth the expense of injectors and smics. You dont mention what your current suspension and brake setup is like. Money spent on decent shocks, springs,ARB's.bushes & brakes will make the car a lot faster than a power increase.

More expense...
Also polybushes usually cheaper than the original rubber items
-
More expense...
Yeh, look at it in a positive way - A chance to replace worn old knackered bushes with polybushes(where applicable), and once all the work has been done it will drive and handle so much nicer.

Quite fancy a Supra...
Driven and worked on quite a few (NA & TT) at work and outside work, I dont mind them....I just prefer the zed.....try one out yourself, see how you feel...it may well suit your wants perfectly. What I meant by the character and feel, is that despite their capablities they feel more executive, and less sporty behind the wheel..in comparison.

Quite fancy a Supra...
I find they lack the character the zed offers, they dont feel as much of a "drivers car" as the zed does...remind me more of a exec german saloon (bmw/merc). Well built and much simpler to work on though.

What don't you like about your zed?
Sounds like I need to order more HID kits in stock LOL Most 6-speed boxes (like the supra's, 911, 350z) give a similar drive ratio in 6th, as ours do in 5th....no benefit on the motorway, and tbh the TT is pretty economical on motorway as it revs pretty low for a given speed. About £30-£50 for the material to retrim.....pain in the arse to do yourself though

£5k to spend - what to do??
Get the car looked at by a specialist, and have a report done on any work that may need doing. Once its had any required work completed and been given a clean bill of health, you get start on any modifications you wish to make. Wheels tend to have the largest impact on the look of the exterior and wider wheels with quality rubber does wonders for the handlinh. Clear indications all around freshens up the look too. A nice retrim transforms the interior. I would highly recomend a suspension overhaul (Shocks, springs, adjustable antiroll bars, and bushes.). The 300zx is very brutal on its suspension, and most zeds out there are on old own suspension, given a heavy, bloated driving feel (and trust me, that is at least how 80% of them drive, without the owners knowing the difference). Even new standard suspension or basic upgrades make a dramatic affect and will make it a much faster car in the real world than a power increase. Stock brakes are'nt bad if they are in good working order, unfrotunatly most are'nt with sticking caliper pistons, worn pads/discs and old fliud. A caliper overhaul, set of bremo plains and Hawk Pads are a nice upgrade for stock power.

UK clock install
yes, they are straight plug and play (providing you have UK clocks from same series car), will read MPH automatically and Manual conversion will not affect them.

flow testing
Change the o-rings that they come with, the two most common problems with the Venoms seem to be conistent flow rates and the o-rings leaking. So If flow rates come back ok, and you have changed the o-rings you can feel a lot more assured.

Anyone owned or driven an Audi Coupe?
Im a Bit of a closet fan of the Audi Coupe. Nice solid coupe, with a strong image. It would of been pricey on the maintenance compared to the Vauxhall 5 years ago, but VAG prices have come down a lot, and there are a lot of independent part suppliers - eg. GSF Car Parts. Abosultey detest the Calibra Im afraid for many reason, but not least for its very "chavvy" image.

I've put a deposit down
Very nice!. If the gauge is in Bar then 0.6 is just under 9psi (stock is 9.5psi), so if its just going above 0.6 then thats fine. Full boost on stock tubs should be approx 3000rpm Dont recognise the car....fresh import ?

might be a stupid question but...
nah..what you want is to put a Nissan Vh45de (4.5i V8) engine in a Zed instead. A Much better engine than the camero's, in a much better car ;)

might be a stupid question but...
Turning overdrive off helps depending on situation. It will go into Power mode when you put foot down, but for best overtaking you can put in power mode first. A proper working Auto gearbox will change quicker than you can in a Manual.

Thats it, me and Z's are over for good
Yes, re-use the gaskets, they will be fine, and if your worried about doing the helicoil yourself then it should cost about £60 to get engineering company to come out and do it.
