  1. Downpipes & Decats are same swb and lwb. Mid section and backboxes are different swb and lwb.
  2. We used to buy them in from Z1, but Zedworld does them cheaper now as you dont have to pay all that shipping. Cant find their thread as search is broken atm though. About £200 , cant remember exactly.
  3. Vibration felt through the center of the car (seat, floorpan..etc) , typically at 50-60mph (ish), but can appear lightly at other speeds, and severely under hard acceleration. Can also be caused by worn/notchy Drive-shaft joints and by a sagging rear gearbox mount, which alters the angle of the prop-shaft and causes increased wear on the bearing.
  4. I must be going blind - where is this reputation thing ? EDIT : Oh wait, now I see a green box in the top right of this post for reputaion..but I dont see it on anyone elses....
  5. Yay, its up. Nice one......its all very different. Great work Jaikai :) Just one thing that could potentially be serious, but hopefully easily fixed..... the new forum url is called 'forums', and the previous was 'forum', which means all the old search engine links and any bookmarked links will no longer work. I personally had 'new posts' bookmarked, as that's how I view the site, and that didnt work, I presume im not the only one so we could have lots of people trying to get to the site via their usual bookmark and thinking its down.
  6. Agreed, a few years back my wife and baby (6mths old at the time) were involved in a high speed head on collision in her Renault scenic with a Ford galaxy.......but everyone got out with only minor injuries in the scenic ! Dont get the 1.6 petrol though, its a common scenic engine but suffers with headgasket issues.
  7. Funkysi probably has the cleanest Double DIN stereo install, expecially in terms of OE looking fitment. He purchased his double pin panel from z32-zone in japan. edit: cant find a pic, maybe somebody else will have one.
  8. Im sure the 599 is a mix of Aluminum and carbon fibre panels, but the reason it looks like that is becuase it has Matt paint, rather than the body material.
  9. Try going direct to : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/search.php Forum could do with having tapatalk added to it.
  10. Its usually fiddly, but not sure why having issues with it. Perhaps you bent the bolts taking it off. If so, try putting a nut on the bolt(s) and tapping it till they line up.
  11. I was being pedantic :D , but the 300zx is officially a coupe. Its a saloon that you cant get from the boot to the passenger compartment. The definition between Coupe and Hatchback is vague though, I believe a coupe will come as 2 door only and have a lower roof line and can come as a 2+2 rather than regular 4/5 seater.
  12. My Dog is petrified of the hoover, runs from it like its literally trying to skin him alive....unfortunately he malts a lot and so the house requires a lot of hoovering. you spelt p*nis wrong !
  13. Same steering ratio (only the U.S TT has a quicker steering ratio. The U.S NA (swb & lwb) has same ratio as all of ours). When driving them hard its how the entire car reacts to driver input and external forces, the whole body feels tighter and more rigid, its nimbler on its feet in all directions, and its lower weight means its a little quicker all round too, although thats less noticable. Getting out of a SWB and driving a LWB I can literally feel the chassis flexing and wobbling. The LWB makes a great GT car and Im very fond of it, but the SWB a better sports car. A shorter wheel base can make a car feel less stable under high speed cornering, but its all to do with the ratio between track width (distance from centre of left wheel to centre of right wheel) and wheelbase (distance from centre of front wheel to centre of rear wheel) and there are a number of theories in terms of ideal ratios, but even the SWB Z is at the "stable" end of that range compared to many others sports/race cars.
  14. I have the book, read it many times, dont recall that quote, but a 'more Stable platform' is not the same as better handling though. A Longer wheel base will theoretically offer greater high speed stability at the loss of low-mid speed response and agility. I can assure you that the SWB is still a very stable high speed handler though. I didnt want to come in here and continue the lwb vs swb debate, but since these claims were being expressed, then I would say as somebody who has driven far more examples of both than most members have even ever seen, and as an owner of several examples of both.....I personally couldn't go back to a LWB after the Slicktop, and that's mostly due to the greater swb handling and feel differences.
  15. No offense, but where did you get this rubbish from ? UK reviews only covered the LWB since the SWB was never available, and in the US the TT was only available as SWB, and the LWB only ever came as NA.
  16. You'll need to change the lower plenum to the new style version too, or the older one can be machined to fit with the injectors.
  17. TT = 3.69 NA = 4.08 Leader = 4.10
  18. :thumbup1: Welcome to the NA rear TT club :D
