  1. yes, 99spec indicators are a different shape.
  2. This one will work : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?36601-Speedo-Calibration-Pots&p=305955&viewfull=1#post305955 (needed to replace the /forum/ with /forums/ )
  3. 1st one looks more like the real version to me. 2nd looks more concept. Its good to see how they have kept such strong styling influences from the original nsx.
  4. Shorter than typical mid-sized cars like the Mondeo, 3 series , A4 ..etc Wider though...and lower ofcourse. The swb is even shorter than my wifes little Ford focus Hatchback.
  5. Bouncing/Hopping tends to be due to worn rear shocks, but a wandering back end is typically Hicas joints. Poor alignment settings can also give strange handlign sensations. Other than that, light steering can be caused by the fitment of a mph>kph convertor - It tricks the ECU into thinking your going slower than you are (eg. 30kph, instead of 30mph) and unfortunatly this means the speed sensitive steering runs on lighter settings at higher speeds than it would normally.
  6. S13 Clutch Master Cylinder - 30610-04F60 Z32 NA Master cylinder - 30610-48P54 Z32 Twin Turbo Master cylinder 89-91 (vacuum servo assisted) - 30610-40P03 Z32 Twin Turbo Master cylinder 91 on (vacuum servo assisted) - 30610-45P10 I dont know the part number for the Y60, but googled an image and it has completely different fitment.
  7. Its very unlikely that the S13 on the side of your master cylinder refers to the 200sx S13. Part model numbering doesn't tend to work like that.
  8. Its possible that the S13 Clutch master cylinder is the same as a 300zx NA Clutch master cylinder, but its definatly not the same as a Twin Turbo Master cylinder.
  9. Removed link, there is already a thread up about it.
  10. edit: misread. Was thinking Brake servo.
  11. So it comes as a strip of rubberised foam, that you bend to shape then cut of any excess length ?
  12. Courtesyparts use their own partnumber system, thats different to the Nissan system. (first half the same, 2nd half unique)
  13. there are LOADS of threads on model differneces over the years. There is not a huge amount changed, and most you will notice are from Nissan cost saving in later years, where they made previously standard equiment, optional. Espcially things like Digital Climate control, Cruise, Electric seats. other things are stuff like Electric Hicas on the TT, the removal of Variable Valve timing, Side impact bars in doors.
  14. Mr F (MJP) will get you the parts by description. Partnumbers not needed, cheaper than anywhere else in the UK too.
  15. The vast majority of Z's in the UK are LWB, something like 85-90%. All LWB's came with Targa/T-top roof panels, but a small percentage of SWB's were also available as Slicktop (regular metal roof) or full Convertible models. All UK models are LWB, whereas Imports were available in each configuration. The easiest way to tell the difference between SWB and LWB at first glance is the location of the Petrol filler cap. On the LWB is is rearward of the rear wheels and in the SWB it is in front of them.
  16. Check the network data transfer in task manager to see if something else (virus?) is hogging all its network bandwidth instead ? Using the words "proper browser"and "IE" in the same sentence is a contradiction.
  17. For those not familiar with the UAS Z, You can read all about its project progress here : http://www.300zx.com.au/motor_sports.htm btw - They recently swapped to the VQ30DETT I suggested in the engine swap thread the other day.

That particular strut bar - very little to be honest, Its mostly cosmetic. It may have some affect, I have seen hinged ebay bracers reduce front creaking in Z's before, so they are having some affect, but it certainly wont be as affective as a proper solid one piece unit without pinned hinges, they are however fairly expensive. Potentially a strut brace will reduce frontal flex between suspension turrets, which can improve suspension and steering response and feel. Effectively by transmitting less of the vertical suspension forces through the chassis, your helping the suspension to do the job its designed to do. This can also have an affect on the oversteer/understeer characteristics of the Z, so its often best to brace both the front and rear struts, rather than just the front.
  19. Thor does the Lexus V8 1UZ-FE swaps for Supra's and the like, but stock power is similar. .....but why leave it stock ? Its all about potential and the thing is a beast - its considered the best engine Nissan ever made, possibly the best to come out of Japan. Versions of the VH were used in the 300zx le mans race cars and its sibling the VK more recently in the R35 GTR for racing. It was the engine Nissan had originally considered for the 300zx, but dropped it for the VG with concerns that a 4.5 litre V8 would scare of the public off, who might be concerned about running costs when competitors were opting for small turbocharged offerings at the time. Just a remap, cams and headers will give a very healthy power increase, but you can turbocharge the thing for an easy 600+ on stock internals, or go the Race spec NA route for a high revving, responsive powerhouse. There are several 1000+ turbocharged/Supercharged versions of this motor running around too, and its used in various forms of Motorsport. Its all aluminum design even weigh's less than the stock VG. ....then there is the V8 sound and power delivery that a smaller 6pot can never compare to.
  20. Vh45de is where its at. or maybe a VQ30det (The 3.0 V6 that the z would of received it production had continued past year 2000 - More modern, lighter, revvy, stronger - single turbo but could be twin turbo'd)
  21. Congratulations Alan, sorry I missed your earlier announcement, but great news. Glad mother and baby are well. I still have very vivid memories of my first daughters birth....the most traumatic and at the same time amazing day of my life, and its not till you get them home that you can really start those first few days of your new life together.
  22. Those wheels are narrower than stock. J-spec are 7.5" all round and UK spec is 8.5" rears. A typical aftermarket size for the Z is 18x8.5" front and 18x9.5" rear. The alloys you have would be meant for some sort small hothatch instead.
  23. its not THAT much cheaper. Still 6 pistons, 6 rods, 24valves, 6 injectors ..etc The only saving is that 1 Big turbo, manifold and ancillaries is a little cheaper than 2 smaller turbos....if your after a dyno queen. Also, In some cases RB parts are charged at a premium because of the "skyline" name. ...and you also have to take into account that mod for mod the 300zx makes more power and torque than the RB ! Then when you factor in the cost to buy an RB in the first place and all the fabrication and hassle getting it fitted.....then its not as cut and dry as many seem to think.
