  1. Cleaning the inside of the headlights makes a big difference on mine before I fitted the HID's. Now that I have the HID's and Clean headlights they make High beam obsolete and they are superior to just about all modern car headlights.
  2. Thats a thread on the difference between the door sizes lol The SWB is lighter and nimbler than the LWB, although its not a massive difference. The LWB has praticallaty advantages with the rear seats. All UK cars are LWB TT . Imports were available and LWB & SWB. TT and NA. All LWB's are Targa. Most SWB's are Targa too, although the SWB was also available in Rare Convertible and Slicktop(hardtop roof, not targa) versions.
  3. Dont worry si, I dislike the vents as much as you do. Im looking at getting a set then getting rid of the vents, and using them for a wider track and less weight. And I need a new front drivers wing anyway. Thats if they are wider
  4. I heard/read/imagined somewhere than the Viper wings are wider (stick out further) than the stock wings ? Anyone know if thats correct and if so, by how much ?
  5. I recently thought I would try it out, and Im playing wow right now. Level 3...ohhh yeah ! lol
  6. Doors lengths are identical. Only difference is the B-pillar height and glass.
  7. Very sad to hear :( Can we check if he was a member here ? Its a shame the police officer has not posted on the correct forum (this one) and hasn't left any contact details
  8. 360 bearings dont help with spool up. As Jimmy says its just a reliablity improvement. Ball bearing turbos however do have less friction which helps with spool up.
  9. The stock turbos spool pretty quickly, and have less lag than other turbocharged cars. There are other factors that can make the car feel laggy though - Engine compression, timing, Fuelling, Vacumn/boost leaks. I've driven many stock zed that feel a lot laggier than other stock examples. The quickest spooling turbos are the stock turbos becuase they are the smallest. As you go larger, the slower they spool. This can be mostly overcome, as you say, with Bigger manifolds, Divorced Downpipes and decats. With these add-ons you could have a turbo like the GT525 spooling quicker than the stock turbo and making more power all the way through its range too, or the JWT 530BB spooling like stock and making a LOT more power. There are other upgrades that help too - Losing weight in the drivetrain (Lightweight pulleys, flywheels and propshafts) all help with spool response. As does the proper setup of an electronic boost controller, which allows more response over boost jets or the stock solenoids. Its also worth noting that although a bigger turbo will spool slower it still makes more power as it does. So even if a Bigger turbo is only making 8psi by 3000rpm, while a smaller turbo is already making 12psi, the bigger turbo can still making more power at that point.
  10. Stock Turbos are Hybrids of the Garret T25's, with a smaller TB22 turbine/exhaust side and 4 bolt design. Popular upgrades, increasing in size are : - JWT Sport 500 - Z1 GT525 - Z1 GT535R / JWT 530BB / GT2554R (all the same spec turbo) - Z1 GT600R / GT2560R / GT28R (all the same spec turbo) - Z1 GT675RS / GT2860R / GTS8RS / HKS 2530 / JWT 700bb(0.63 AR) (all the same spec turbo) - Greddy TD04 16G - Greddy TD04 18G There is a good range of upgrades available from z1 http://www.z1motorsports.com/index.php?cPath=6_16&osCsid=8a5f35c72b0642b334502a4a2d4c24d3
  11. Go for the powertrix skirts, which are Kaminari Replica's but cheaper. http://www.powertrix.com I have Impuls, but I intend to change to them at some point.
  12. Front steering rack is the same for all. In the US the TT had a quicker steering ratio than the NA, but that was not directly related to it being hicas, and for the rest of the world they are the same. Everything associated with the Hicas is elsewhere in the system (pump, resevior, steering boss)
  13. he said not zcentre and Luke (as discussed above) is Zcentre.
  14. you have the contact details John ? I need to get mine into a bodyshop I can trust asap to have my new bits done.
  15. Thats why you have all the whole lot sprayed. Lots of colour changed zed's out there, including mine, with everything done.
  16. Welcome to Zed ownership :D
  17. Yep, stock TT pistons have a small hole that is used as a cooling channel for the oil in the bottom inside edge of the piston where the oil is squirted at. NA pistons and Forged pistons do not. Instead the NA squirters point at the center of the piston, and so the forged pistons can benefit from this also as they dont make best use of the TT squirters without the cooling channel.
  18. Yeh, that should be the adjustment. Would be worth investing in a boost leak detector. You can get then from czp.us Keep an eye on your water levels. You'll want to check that its definatly a vacumn pipe, as its possible it could be a oil or water pipe for an old mechanical gauge. Check what it is, and if its not leaking then its fine for now.
  19. 1. Either a boost leak just before the Dump valve, or the internal piston is seized. Also check if its got an adjustment screw, it could be wound in too tight. 2. If your loosing water from the turbo then its going to be the water inlet or outlet pipe, maybe just loose and needs tightening or could be a split. You run the risk of loosing too much water and overheating the engine and cooking the headgasket. Turbo Waterleak wont cause Turbo failure, it could reduce turbos lifespan though. 3. Looks like the pipe was for a Boost gauge or Boost controller thats since been removed.
