banger for commuting.
If your going to be doing a lot of motorway and fast A-roadd driving then you want to avoid most small city cars... It's not just the engine size but the gearing too. Small hatchbacks are geared for town economy and at faster speeds would be working harder at higher revs to do the same job as other cars. Can't go wrong with anything VAG really, and the French do make decent diesels. You do have to be carefull with cheap diesels though...fuel pumps tend to go in older/high mileage diesels and will cost more to repair than you paid for car. A lot of car traders who sell cars for under £1k won't touch diesels for this reason. When it comes to economy for a lot of commuting then you can't beat diesel though.

Is there a difference between hicas and non hicas steering boss's?!
The hicas version has a locating ring for the hicas steering angle sensor.if you fit a non hicas boss to a TT the hicas will throw an error and disable itself

Top Gear ending???
Apparently viewing figures have dropped to around 5million recently I love topgear, but this recent series has gone a bit stale and most people seem to feel the same. I did enjoy the south America special.....but again, not as good as previous specials.

Anyone know the approx weight of gearbox conversion?
You'll need to use a pallet service, and it will cost you 60-70pounds. You can use a "half pallet" service, because that goes on height and you will need to book a tail-lift option too...you will also need a pallet to put it on. Drain the fluids completely. Secure it to the pallet and wrap it in that cellophane stuff. ..and yes the Autobox and TQ weights a good 20kg more than the Manual box. Never known the exact weight, but have always said about 100kg for the pallet service in the past. They allow up to 250kg so not an issue.

5000k Main beam H1 Bulbs - MOT Legal?
Stick to Aftermarket Xenon bulbs for Main beam.......HID's dont like to be flashed on and off...plus they have a delay in warming up to full brightness which makes them not suitable for Main beam.

Boot Carpet...
its just held on with a series of plastic clips to the seat base, very straightforward to remove. But if the back of the seat base will be on display, then removing the carpet leaves a very unsightly view, and your option there would be to either cut it as memtioned, or leave the carpet in place.

handling in Poor Weather
torque transferring 4wd system...constantly altering power transfer to the wheels with the most grip....and the weight is also an advantage in such slippery conditions.

Loads of chrome stuff back
Shinneeyyyy..... what AR ratio have you gone with for the JWT 700bb's.. if its the 0.64 AR then they are very similar to the GT675's/GT2530's. They used to be known for being very laggy, till they became available with the new lower ratio which is intended for quicker spoolup.

Asking just a bit
There is no way to tell. DVLA records are no good, imports come over with all sorts of names, cant even tell how many Z's in total are in the UK.
-
Asking just a bit
There are no official or unofficial figures. It is the rarest Z version, but If I had to take a rough guess it would be more like 40-50 I've driven and/or worked on 11 different Convertible Z's that I can remember, some forum members cars some not, but there is a lot more than those about. We have 1 forum member that owns 3 Verts.

Wide arch rear body, how to widen rear wheel base?
Zoggs, Jason Farrows, Bobgenie, Gruntpa...and others , all without spacers. Better of selling those wheels and spacers separately though. That wheel/spacer combo you had did not fill the arches properly, was one of the things letting the look down unfortunately. Spacers would be fine with different wheels and vice versa.

Wide arch rear body, how to widen rear wheel base?
Wider wheels with a lower offset is the preferred option. Spacers are a cheaper but less favourable way of doing it.

Help please guys!
no, talking about the Pump(compressor) The fan only comes on at around 98degrees with aircon on, and about 104degrees with aircon off.
-
Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
PAS is speed sensitive, and relies on signal from Speed sensor(which passes through the Speedometer and PAS ECU)
-
Battery may be needed
068 is the standard factory battery type for all Z32 versions.

Help please guys!
the demister uses the aircon compressor. If the noise stops when you hit the econ button then its an issue with the compressor. (econ switches off the compressor, all other settings use the compressor) Have you had a quick visual checkk at the compressor belt/pulley area ?....Im surprised you've damaged that, due to its location, but It can only be that really.
