  1. lol yes thats the bypass as discussed above. Very common trick/mod.
  2. Z1 and Zcentre (although I think Zcentre is closed for holiday currently). (they both sell short and long versions, you'l want the long version. Short version is for replacing a small part of the pipe only) Or you can have one made up. Pretty sure it uses a m10x1 ends, and you need about 1m length.
  3. Relocating is a bad idea. Nissan placed it where it is for a very good reason. A Garage can make a quick buck by supplying a new one and relocating, customers happy becuase its fixes the problem, but relocated sensor wont detect properly where it is so its had the same affect as a complete bypass, but just costs a lot more.
  4. The plug is easier, but if you have break in the loom between the connector and ECU (which is often the cause of det sensor fault in the first place), then it wont help. Doing it as the ECU is the most reliable place. Its between pin 23 and 50. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/ecuharness.html
  5. The Plenum is the Intake Manifold on top of the engine. Their is a 2nd intake below the main one. The Det sensor is bolted to the top the Block inbetween the heads. Definatly 1MOhm. You can either replace it at the connector, which is at the rear of the plenum near the centra of the balance bar, or you can wire it directly at the ECU. The Sensor itself has limited application anyway. It only detects detonation below 3000rpm, as above this the engine noise is too hard for it to filter through. If it senses detonation it then switches to the ECU's Safety map and reduced Boost. If you have a Boost controller than it wont be able to reduce boost anyway, and some aftermarket ECU maps dont even include safety maps.
  6. The master can be a bit of a PTIA to reach the 2nd bolt, but its not too bad. Slave is very straight forward. I would reccomend getting a 1 piece braded hose from master to slave. It gets rid of of about 2m of unneeded lines, and the secondary bleed point, making it a lot easier to bleed and givign a more positive pedal feel.
  7. Upper and lower plenums need to be removed. Its not that bad a job, you could do it yourself on the drive. Most people tend to just bypass the Sensor with a 1megohm resistor though. Takes 2 mins and costs 10p.
  8. Typically its around 20-22% of the total for Duty, vat and Fee's. If the sellers declares lower values then thats one way of paying less, but do bear in mind that if any of it gets lost or damaged the insurance cover is based on the declared values.
  9. It just bolts onto the MAF in place of the original Airbox. There are no pipes to deal with or capping involved. The ducts to the side, just go from original airbox to the inner wings and nothing else.

  12. Hmm..between the M3 and the CL55 for me. I would go for the M3 Coupe rather than the Cab though. S4 is nice, classy but a bit dull. Monaro would be a definate no, might be great value for money but piece of crap in comparson. How about a Porsche 996 (911) ?
  13. Blimey. hey :)
  14. Maybe
  15. There is no centre for these ebay lights.
  16. Here it in online manual : http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=ra&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=28&design=default&total=35 and the next 3-4 pages.
  17. Its in the owners manual. Its for testing/diagnosis purposes.
  18. lol he did...it fell off on the way back. Glad yours is sorted, was good to see you again :)
  19. and Murts single single exhaust / Tailgate mounted Exhaust setup, Very unique, Im sure it will be all the rage.
  20. Nice little meet in Glastonbury today. Nice Pub choice Si. Great Weather. 6 z's (7 members). My poor excuse for Meet pics, unfortunatly I only took a couple after most had left :
  21. Perspex Panel & 99spec Spoiler. LWB looks too plain without a spoiler imo.
  22. All slicktops deserve a manual box. I would go with the manual conversion. Its true you wont recoup all the cost, but a Manual conversion is not all money lost, typically a manual equipped Z will fetch anything from £500-£1000 more than a similar Automatic Z. Especially in a slicktop, where owners are looking for the Sportier drive it offers.
  23. Nice change. The Jap rear is nicer looking than the UK version. As said though the Petrol cap looks naff.
