1. Had my first Z done in Black and Cream, and think its a nice classy combo.
2. wow...thats one seriously ugly contraption. White and black is a great combo, but the car itself looks a right mess.
3. Looks crap and its only got the 2.0 NA engine :S
4. Happy Birthday Kev
5. You definatly have the booster then (its the item you described) and you cant even fit the pedal without it. From his description I reckon he is on about the Vacumn exansion tanks for the booster. They are not needed and very rarely ever supplied or fitted with manual conversions. If you have been supplied a Manual TT Plenum Balance bar with the vacumn pipe and one-way valve then he just needs to connect it to that, or if you still have your Auto balance bar then you can feed it into the Brake booster feed behind the one way valve with a T-piece. It will work fine this way.
6. The clutch booster is fitted to the Clutch pedal. If you have a TT pedal assembly and TT Clutch master cylinder then the Clutch Pedal wont work without the Booster. There is no connection between the pedal and the Master cylinder without it. In fact you cant even bolt the clutch pedal into the car without it.
7. Its a good chance Impul no longer sell the exhaust. Most companies gave up on the Z many years back. Some still sell the products they developed, but any real design and development was way back in the early to mid 90's. Either way, its quite a unique/rare exhaust. Impul also do/did a range of Bodyparts.
8. Its very hard to diagnose engine noises over the internet, sound clips tend to distort. But sticking lifters tend to give a light ticking/tapping noise that can be heard from the top end. The VVT springs are also known to give a rattle noise. Whereas bottom end bearing issues are more of a deeper/hollow knocking sound. Its typical for the noise to be heard in teh 2500rpm region when there is a problem with them.
9. Leaning on stuff...... and just Hanging around....
10. Well this thread has spurred me on to change my name, so here we have the new name! Used it a few times on other sites, it does'nt have any real meaning, just an invented name as before that I got from my avatar
11. NGK PFR6B-11C is the Stock TT Plug, and the best you can fit unless running Higher boost. NGK PFR6B-11B is the plug Nissan comissioned NGK to make for Tuned TT's DTA's phone numebr is'nt a premium number, its a reduced cost call (local rate wherever you call from in the country), but he only works in the evenings and saturdays now so best to drop him a PM or email instead anyway.
12. Welcome and Congrats on the purchase.
13. This is the car Si is referring to : Fully custom fabricated metal widearch. Im sure there were pics of it in the process of having the arches fabricated at some point, If I come across them I will post them up, unless Si already has them.
14. I like an aggressive stance, but thats OTT and the stretch looks like the tyres have popped off the rim. When I first read about it on another site the owner was claiming it to be his "Race/track" car
15. Most of my experience is with my favourite class, the 5 series (e34, e39 and E60) , and they definatly superior than pretty much every car out there for Interiors and build quality (build quality goes much further than just an interior). I cant help but be impressed whenever I do mechanical work on a Bmw compared to regular cars. My E39 is 13yrs old, but you can feel the quality with every single component on the car and everything feels as good now as it did when new, which is still superior to brand new cars. The 3 series is a cheaper, lesser built car, but from my limited experience with them they have always seemed superior or at the very least as good as the rest of the best. French and Japanese cars have always been the worst, and are an embarassment in comparison. Japanese build quality is ok, but falls very short on the quality of materials. The 8 series is too big and lardy and was the wrong car at the wrong time. Its got a sort of "cool" uniqueness about it but its probably Bmw's biggest failure. Saab's are just Vauxhalls and Merc's had a bad rep for a while for slipping quality issues.
16. his spec does not match the claimed power output ...or in other words..... either the Dynoprint is bullshit or it has larger turbos/injectors ..etc that he has not listed or doesnt know about.
17. Completely on the spot made up name that I cant even pronounce properly (and everybody pronounces it different and spells it wrong anyway) and I hate it.
18. 10.4 psi http://www.cleavebooks.co.uk/scol/ccpress.htm Is it the Blitz Dual Turbo timer ? I think your stuck with kg/cm2 unfortunatly.
19. Z1 do there own version of the JWT530bb but quite a bit cheaper. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_16&products_id=3862 (uses same garret GT255R turbos) Like most parts, UK suppliers will tell you can get them, but bear in mind all they do is order them from Z1 themselves then add a profit on top.
20. looking through your Spec list....you should never have pushed it above 15psi ! 13-14psi is the safe MAXIMUM without larger injectors and IC's. At around 14-15psi the Injectors are at 100% duty and can not flow anymore...after which they go lean and fuel starve. Even with uprated injectors and IC's the turbos are out of steam by 17-18psi and just blowing hot air. You may be extremely lucky and simply have a boost leak, or you may have done untold damage im afraid. I hope your spec list is not up to date or your having a lucky streak. First port of call is a Boost leak test and ECU error code test. After which you want to be looking at a Compression test.
