Private plate questions
That's far more complicated than my experiences. I haven't informed the insurance company until the plates been transferred. Just ring them up once done and they send out the updated certificate of insurance. You can either post the application to the DVLA or visit their local office. I went to the local office as i don't trust our postal service and it's done there and then. Simply take the certificate of retention, your v5, and mot (if applic). They send your v5 away for updating and issue you with a new tax disc and mot certificate straight away - no mention of insurance. The vehicle has to be insured anyway (to be currently taxed etc), the onus is on you to inform your ins company of the change.

Multiple Zed Owners
I have the best of both worlds - one is a manual and modified, the other is a completely stock auto for cruising.

newbie saying hi,
To be honest these cars are at their best stock. They're a great balance of comfort, style and performance. I have two and I prefer driving the stock one (which has 12K miles on it :cool3:) Where are you getting it serviced? Stay away from Nissan garages - they know very little about the cars now and charge a fortune.

newbie saying hi,
Get it up and running with a thorough service and leave it as is. Standard cars are the rarest these days.

Speedo stopped working this morning.
Your assumptions are correct - "it works off electrickery"

Are all 300zx imports
No - all UK cars were Twin Turbo 2+2. If a car is a N/A it is an import Joely P beat me to it

ICE: amplifier remote on/off question
The only time using the aerial signal output doesn't work is where the head unit (very rare) only puts the aerial up when the radio is on, and puts is down again when listening to a CD etc
-
ICE: amplifier remote on/off question
True - but if the ignition if on and the stereo is off the amp will still be on. It's best to run it from the aerial output if available so that the amp is only on when the stereo is on.
-
ICE: amplifier remote on/off question
It can be split. It's only a low power consumption to switch the amp on/off.

Does my bum look fat in this???
I don't like it. Too square and boxy looking - doesn't suit the lines of the car.

spare wheel
Why is the space saver no use?? The rolling radius should be the same.

I'm surprised Armari are bothering to sell it themselves. Have a look at their stock list at the sort of stuff they have in stock

Piano black double din
I don't know the ins and outs of how it attaches but I wasnt meaning to do anything too drastic. Is it not possible to modify one and keep a spare shifter for resale time?

mot/road tax question
Get it insured first. You are then allowed to drive the car (directly) to an MOT station for a pre-booked appointment. If all goes well go and get it taxed.

Both looking very nice Daz. It always a shame to take one off the road but you'll enjoy it all the more when its time to get it out again. Where did you get the car cover from? - looks a good fit
