LMAO!! spanking the monkey
There's was a dance song out around last year by 'Silverback' who used all these samples to produce one weird dance floor hit! Kazza should "enlighten" those who haven't heard it.

You lot are a load of fooking bastids!!!
Smithy, That's an offer I'm not likely to turn down! (You got mail) It'll be about 2 weeks before the chip(s) are in my possession, so the timing will be perfect. I'll be able to offer dyno comparison printouts within a reasonable time too, since that's where I'll be heading when the chip(s) and filters are all ready. Cheers Simon.

You lot are a load of fooking bastids!!!
..or about 15psi at >4,000rpm... which is exactly whats wrong with my chip from Pete @SE cos it doesn't have an extended fuel MAP - duh!! What I plan to do is either: 1. Get another chip with extended fuel MAP or 2. Get twin Filter (single afm) and another chip obviously. Now, although its a tad more expensive to get the twin POP setup, you benefit from the better resolution fiuel map. Since by extending the map you sacrifice the number of fuel points on the MAP. (Read though http://ecu.ztechz.net/ for details) Does anyone sell the pipes required to do this? Because I'd rather a pair of Apexi filter bt be honest...

Det sensor insulation
Hi Mark, my old (original) one had two wires, but the new one I bought only has one. However this is in keeping with the oil pressor sender etc that all use the engine as the negitive. (Besides my ECU is happy ;-)) HTH

Ne1 going up north to London, need a favour!
I sent a box about the size of a suitcase 2 or three 3 years through the post office - they just laughed, and said it would cost £7.50 to send it to Yorkshire. (Only weighed about 15Kg though) Si.

Help with - Battery Lead
Having just spoken to Mathew on this one. If appears he's missing the bracket / heatshield-thing that goes over the EGR pipe:

Plem removal
Got to agree with Andy Duff on this one, my engine runs better than ever with 555's. If you know of anyone with a rough idle after even breathing on the injectors, then it must be dirty connectors.

Turbo Advice... no names...
Hey Submarine, If this was Turbo Technics then I had exactly the same problem last year with a set of turbos. (Well, only one actually) but they said the same to me. However, they were fitted and primed perfectly. Trouble is, I left it until 2 months after their warranty ran out :S So didn't have a leg to stand on, even though it must have been a manufacturing fault, since the turbo failed immediately at first start. (Although this wasn't recognised until the engine was taken out and stripped 12 months later!) Good luck

Help with custon avatar
Drop the colour depth down a notch. Try 256 colours first, then 16 as a last resort. True colour images eat disk space like Private Pile eats jelly doughnuts! :)

Piss poor spark
smw1, maybe worth checking the earth strap on your engine. It will be located near the n/s O2 sensor, bolted onto a bracket (heat shield type of thing) that goes over the EGR pipe. OR (and this is easier), to test if its a bad earth, get a single jump lead, attach the neg terminal on the battery, and clamp it somewhere on the intake plenum, and see if your spark improves. Hope this helps m8

No Compression!!
Sounds like a valve has got stuck open. Perhaps there's something stuck to the valve or its seat, like a piece of broken spark plug, etc. Sorry I can't be of more help though

IAA Unit
1. Check the connector on the unit first - reckon it'll be full of green stuff. 2. Check the hard-idle switch is working (part of the TPS on N/S throttle body) - with the engine running, and head under the bonnet, you should hear a faint 'click' when you partially open the throttle. 3. IAA may require a blast of carb / brake cleaner to dislodge any built-up gunge - but this is unlikely, since you say the idle varies so much. HTH

Rear Lights
Hi Ajay, Get your trusty hair dryer out and heat the lamp unit up - from the inside I believe - don't let the sealant get too gooey though - it's a PITA to remove from the rest of the paintwork Si.

Nissan Storage Warehouse in Zama
Having any engine mods done will have the same affect as cosmetic modifications do..... Over the last 18 months I've spent £28,000 (and counting) on the car and its only probably worth £6000 in resale value - who cares! - I have what I want (for now) and have no intention of a. Selling it or b. what the phuck I'm gonna get for it a three years time! If I worried about trivial things like that I wouldn't own a Z As much as I respect the previous models of the Z car for their classic status and E-type lines (240Z), this is a Z32 site, not some pipe n slippers 'mull over the Z history site' where we'd be discussing knitting patterns and the 12 available shades of grey that Marks & Spenser stock in the cardigan department. All IMHO of course Simon.

NA Pistons
Does anyone have a picture of what the piston crown looks like on an NA piston? (For the VG30DE engine obviously) The new set of JE pistons I've just recieved are very different from the last set I had, since the compression volume space in the crown on this new set is approx half of that of both my old OEM pistons, and the last set of JE pistons I ordered last year. Any pics, or a good description would be great. Cheers Simon.
