remove the fuel pump fuse from the small fuse box, crank engine, remove spark plug see if there is any wetness to the spark plug / strong smell of fuel, the injector should still fire and the pressure in the fuel line will be enough to put fuel on your spark plug. You could also try this, remove all 6 spark plugs, leave it 2 hours for the cylinders to dry, put them in, prime the system (turn ignition on and off a few times, listen for the fuel pump) then try starting the car. also, have you done a compression test? might be a good idea.

i no longer have a divorced exhaust so it cant be that, though i do have a mahoosive exits on mine i have 2 spare TPS's but cant remember for the life of me, what one is TT / N/A or if there is even a manual TPS in there.

aah i do have a chipped auto ecu, mapped for higher red line and higher boost and yes i seem to remember reading something about the TPS on a auto needing doing something or other due to it being Auto and going to manual. as for the bunny hopping, i take it, unless the gearbox comes off to sort out the issue, im going to have that problem. it does have the manual spigot bush in place, isn't that supposed to stop it doing that?

my main concern is this popping sound im hearing from the exhaust when i come off the throttle, its very low base and race car-y if that makes any sense. like when you hear a rally car come off the gas. If im getting low sounding pops and crackles on the overrun, surely that means im over fueling?

if that exhaust is coming off again, im going single prop :lol: it is one of the most annoying exhausts ive ever had due to the H section in it, either one side fits the down pipes or the other does, i have to basically argue with the exhaust to get it to fit. usually with a breaker bar.

i know my cherry red zed never did this, so wondering if this is because timing or something, but noticed when i accelerate, get to speed, if i come off the gas, the car kinda quitly pops and gurgles like you hear race cars do, if i coast in gear with foot off the clutch like im letting the engine slow the car, it does it but feels like the car is trying to "bunny hop" (like when a new driver doesnt quite pull off right). not sure im explaining this correctly, if i hold the throttle at the speed i want, it doesnt happen, if i floor it, i have to hold on, so its definitely not down on power, im just wonder if this is "pinging" that i hear about, but cant seem to find an explination for. I have both my O2 sensors disconnected, as one is faulty (yes should of changed them when the gearbox was off, only remembered when me and mark had just put the bloody thing back on, so it wasnt coming off again lol) Just never had that when it was a auto. Also looks like i need to go single prop at some point as im getting small but very constant vibration at around 50 to 60mph.

Other option is, see if there is a USB version of it on the Toshiba website if the disk cant be read, you can do installs from windows vista and 7 using USB pen drive.

the recovery disk is for when you have trouble getting into the OS, or when you need to repair the OS, the fact the hard drive is now wiped, means there is no OS, you need the install disk, but as its a laptop it will be OEM Windows 7 install disk you need from Toshiba, you would be better off seeing if there are any windows 7 install disks on ebay for cheap.

SOLVED. Went and had a look in the garage at the starter motor that had the positive cable on it, and it was brand spanking new, should of paid more attention to that yesterday when doing the gearbox, changed that over, checked the starter relay bypass, id only rigged it to see if the car would start, got too excited when it did and took it for a drive and forgot about it, oops :lol:, anyway needless to say the bypass has come undone, so sorted that out on a more permanent and water proof basis, and all is good in the land of the zed again :D

basically just what i had then :whistling: Just remembered, could be the bypass i did on the starter relay now the powers back, best check that to make sure everything is still ok. other wise the car is definitely not going to start, it might of been fine yesterday but the relay may have come loose from the mounting slot thingy it clips into. worth a check.

Here is your best option, re-attach it, go get some OEM shag pile mats, throw them in the washing machine on a 95degree wash with some quality detergent and some comfort, wait till the wash has finished, and hang out to dry, once dry put them in the car, now enjoy sitting in the front of the car with no shoes or socks on with the fluffy carpet poking between your toes. Also makes one of the best long lasting air fresheners ever as the comfort smell from the carpets lasts for ages.

well when i first pulled over, the battery was sparking like mad when trying to take the negative off, there was no electric to the dash at this point, so something with a main live feed was earthing directly to the body work., i have a spare positive cable in the garage so thats not an issue in changing that, just need to figure out why no power to the starter. Something must of been drawing hugh voltage just before the electrics failed. One thing i was supprised about though when the power went out, was the almost lack of breaks??

Just got the car towed back to mine (glad its a manual now lol), was driving along, big pop out of the rear of the exhaust as the electrics died, had absolutely no power at the side of the road so couldn't even stick me hazards on. Anyway get it home, playing with the positive battery terminal, seems someone who owned the car had extended the wire at some point and this seems to of worked its self loose, most likely when i was doing the gearbox, joining it back up correctly gives me lights to the dash but the car wont crank now. there is no noise at the starter motor, no clicking or anything. ive checked all fuses in the engine bay and they are all ok any one got any clues? or where to start looking?

quick question but why so worried about pulling the plenum, it really is one of those jobs where everyone says "its a PITA" when really what they mean is, "once you get those small water pipes off and the egr side pipes off, and undo the pipes holding on to the PVC valves, it really is a peice of cake"

id rather be in my zed than most things out there on the road matey, the amount of stories I've heard of people crashing their zeds and they and their passengers have walked away from them, is actually a very real statistic.

not with a gearbox in the way :lol: its not that bad removing the plenum bud, looks worse than it is, and if you do the water bypass while its off, you dont have to feck about with all those little pipes when it comes to refitting it.

got a one way valve, but no one has said which way it goes on :lol:

i still managed to get the exhaust off, old gearbox off, prop shaft off, and fit clutch pedal, break pedal, flywheel, clutch res, helped with gearbox, and gearbox bolts, then after ya left i managed all on my own lol, the starter motor, the exhaust (and that is a pain in the royal arse to get on) sort out that split hose (fecking thing) get it off the ramps, top it back up, fill the gearbox with oil plus surrounding flooring. all while feeling like pap from being ill, not eating for 3 days due to said illness and being technically "hi" from energy drinks lol
