RPS streetmax clutch, pretty much a rps clutch housing with resurfaced OEM friction disk. tomorrow going to go get a T junction and T into the brake booster. unless someone has a chrome TT manual balance bar they want to swap for Auto chrome balance bar.

good news for both of us today then bud. bring on pod. oh and mark didnt do all the work on his own, but there are only so many people needed to bolt a propshaft together and connect the gearstick linkage :lol:

well, having just done this and ignored the neutral switch, the car was actually horrible until i set the timing (with timing light via crank pulley) to 15dbtc. since doing the timing with a timing gun and getting it back to 15dbtc, the car now idles smoothly and still accelerates like a bull out of a china shop. So, question is how should it be if pin 44 isnt earthed, considering i noticed a considerably better idle and response after manually setting it, consults still showed 25, timing on crank showed 15. Before timing change and just after conversion, timing light showing 25, consults showing 25.

Markdarby turned up today to help fit the gearbox, considing how crap ive been feeling for the last week, that really was appreciated. so cant thank mark enough for that one.

had one on my cherry red one, so feels the same as that lol, but its surprising just how much power that autobox was robbing from me, feels like a completely different car, fantastic box and flywheel, clutch is heavy as hell so really need to get that T'ed in soon as possible before i break my ankle changing gear lol

Well, what can i say, apart from stalling it once LOL (new that was coming), pulling over into sainsbury's car park to watch the oil burn off the gearbox and what ever else i managed to get caked in gearbox oil and set the timing as i didnt do the neutral switch bypass. Once that was all sorted, and still stinking a bit from the gearbox oil being burnt off. i thought id give her a try in a nice large empty carpark, holy poop, haven't felt that kinda power since my cherry red zed, the gears are nice and clunky and the box sounds like its been stolen from a british touring car for some reason lol, ooh and i get a nice little burble when lifting of the gas. temps are also doing very good as well. so after playing around in a carpark for 20mins and scaring my self half to death (she really does feel very light now, not like the lumbering beast the auto box made her feel like) and now that all the power that is supposed to, is actually going from the engine to the rear wheels, think ill just lay off the boost when the kids are in the car :lol: Anyway, have to say, thats the first 20mins of fun ive had in my zed since i got it. now to sort out the body work issues, some new rubber for the rears, engine bay tidy up, and also noticed i need to change at least one of the rear subframe bushes (leaked all over my exhaust), im positively in love again with my 300zx.:wub:

because they do not what their product copied like the rest of the kits out there, you can get originals and then you can get copies of the same item. I think they actually tried selling stuff over here by a certain zed trading website, but one of there items got copyed and they pulled all sales of future items to the UK Pete, they are not permitted to sell, yes i understand that they are advertising a product still by showing pictures, but who here can honestly say that want to pay extortionate amounts of money for a product from an unknown trader, out side the country. If i was going to spend any where near the amount of money twinz want for some of there stuff, id much rather go to a well known and well respected body kit manufacturer in japan, one with a already proven track record, IE abflug.

sweet, think i defo need to plumb that clutch vacuum in though, its like there is no gradual bite, its either on or off lol, think im going to be stalling it for the first couple of days till i get used to driving a manual again, but boy does she rev fast now, only gave it light foot to give her throat a bit of a clear and almost put the rev needle through to next week.

Thanks to zx-TT for not only the gearbox and the quick ring, markdarby and his lads, plus all the help from here, she starts woot now to get her off the ramps and she of she goes lol

Anyone? I'm at the car and can't seem to find decent wiring info using my phone

I'm just the electrics away from starting the car, I have a Gray plug from my auto loom down near the gear box that I don't know about, am I right in thinkin I just need to bridge that connector? And also I couldnt get a T connecter to plumb the clutch vacuum in, will I still be able to change gear with it disconnected to go grab one?

i had the same problem jeff, had people saying they had PM'ed me when i hadn't received anything lol

when you change the bumper you take the lights off, all connectors stay (including fog lights) on the car and dont move, when you buy a 89spec front end, normally the lights dont come with it, as you still have your own, so why would changing the bumper instantly force you to change the layout of the lights? not sure where people are getting that idea from. Id say, its a UK bumper due to the washers for the headlights, and all he has done after fitting it, is put his lights back on in there original location :lol: oh and most likely the washers dont work as he wouldn't have the control on the lights pod, hasnt plumbed the pipe work or pump in, or wired it all up, hence the reason he hasnt mentioned its got that function in his add.

my sills are wired into my door open relay behind the passenger seat rear quarter interior panel, cant remember what wires you need to plumb into, but basically they light only when the door is open. groover knows as thats who i text when installing mine.

wonder if that explains the warped calipers of the old alloy ones, not due to the design of the calipers, but because people were getting the wheels put on the wrong way around, thus less cooling lol

was feeling a little better this morning, so forced my self out to the car, well its currently got its new flywheel attached, and no gearbox just yet. will be tackling that in a moment, but gear lever is plumbed in ready for the gearbox to be offered up to it.

tbh i dont actually like that front bumper, reminds me too much of a cat fish. sorry not a fan im afraid.

leave it alone for now dont butcher it, i have the bulb holders that will fit that, bit grubby as when i got my replacements i used the new ones with them, but will fit.
