  1. think you can just see it up near the blue pipe work i have on my red zed lol
  2. best thing to do, is cut the pipes leading to the heater matrix close to it. then use a 2 x small bits of rubber hose and 4 x jubilee clips to reconnect them saves having to fiddle about at the rear of the engine and as you have the dash out should be a lot easier too. there was a picture floating around but cant seem to find it now :(
  3. happy birthday buddy :D
  4. go for it, but take a camera, i want to see the look on the guys face when you say, "id like a full service please for your advertised £5"
  5. Have you checked the connectors on it? sounds like you might have a dodgy connection, do you have them in the side pillar mount or on the dash board? Id really like to know what the ideal oil temp is. stupid thing is I've got a spare oil temp gauge and a spare boost gauge id love a water temp gauge any one got one for a swap?
  6. i had a filling fall out, so went to the dentist to get a clean up and a new one, bugger was drilling for oil or something, hit the nerve, so stuck some antiseptic filler in for a few days, god the pain was unbearable, felt like my tooth was trying to push its self up through my jaw bone to run away. in the end the pain was that bad, i went to the dentist and just asked them to rip it out. soon as they pulled it out. i have to admit no more pain, hell didn't even need pain killers. The last tooth i had that i needed dentist treatment for, was due to biting onto something hard in a sandwich or something, cracked the tooth into 4 sections. ended up using a pair of pliers and ripping it out my self. much easier and a lot less hassle. Your not a man till you have at least pulled one tooth out by your self with a pair of pliers lol Just dont do it infront of the Mrs like i did. never seen anyone throw up that fast before in my life
  7. Im digging up this old thread just for Daz. I've just stuck a QH water pump on my zed, and i checked it first. impeller size is the same as the Zed and i even asked Jeff what he thought of using this brand. Jeff said and i quote thats good enough for me, and if it does fail ill see if QH stand by there promise lol
  8. i took mine for a half mile spin today just to see if everything was back to normal, i have to say ive missed driving it.
  9. My car came with a oil temp gauge. what is the ideal temp it should be showing? as mine can fluctuate between 85 and 96. it does have a dodgy connection somewhere as well as it can suddenly jump to 115 or 125, but then if you tap it it drops back down to around 80 to 90.
  10. Rad filled with water. looks like no leaks anywhere engine holding temp, we have hot air YAY Thanks Madmax for the lend of the puller matey it was a god send. i have to admit though that the job of changing the water pump its self, wasn't that bad. also gave my battery a good charge so she had fresh juice for the start. also installed my S2 PTU. Right quick question though. i have a Oil temp gauge. now the engine its self, the temp was showing just below the half way mark on the temp gauge on the dash. but the oil temp was showing 93degrees? does that sound about right or should i be worrying still?
  11. Did you forget that i have a TT auto breaker with rad yeah?
  12. Unfortunately its the wrong time of year to sort out a soaked motor as well. if it was summer id say let it dry out fully and check all electrical connections under the carpet.
  13. wont know the name till tomorrow as i cant be arsed to go out to the car, but its good for temps ranging from -50 to +250 its clear though, looks a bit like silicone seal, got it from halfords had instant gasket on it. it will either do the job or it wont. its similar to this product, i had a look but cant find the one im using, but if you need some i have loads left in this tube and seams a waist as im not sure what id ever get to use it on lol http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_749601_langId_-1_categoryId_165691#dtab
  14. Wont know till i fill her up tomorrow and check for leaks but yeah i hope so, i is all up set looking out my window at my car that i cant drive......... Again! lol
  15. Well, managed to get to the water pump today thanks to MadMax lending me his pulley puller. Found my leak coming from the lower hole in the housing due to bearing failure. a bit strange as the old one still rotated very well and there was no play, but the dried water marks spoke volumes so to speak. anyway thought id hunt for the source of the problem as i had recently tightened the belt to the power steering pump. but ruled this out as it was leaking before that. So decided to check the fan as hadn't really paid attention to it. it was split in two places where it had been previously over tightened onto the clutch. obviously this would unbalance the fan causing vibrations through the clutch and into the water pump and finally to the bearings where it would cause excess ware and subsequently fail either at the seal or the bearings. I'm also lucky the pump gave way as id hate for the fan to fail and go flying around inside my engine bay. well shes all back together now, just waiting on my sealant to cure before i fill her up to check for any more leaks. fingers crossed. but should be all done now.
  16. fluid level, check that as well
  17. Jimmer would be your best bet. thats his speciality and does a damn find job at it too.
  18. ive beaten a snail off the lights which i was most impressed about but i got over taken by a empty packet of salt and vinegar crisps, but it was down hill with the wind behind it.
  19. i was going to say, as much as some might laugh at this, stock is good for around 600bhp, but and a big but, Only if freshly rebuilt and correctly rebuilt at that. personally if i was going any where near 450, forged lower end would be a must for me.
  20. well he pm'ed me yesterday
  21. Dude, can you subscribe again or leave an alternative means of contact so i can get hold of you please :D
