So had a bit of fun with Noel (Noz)
70 views and only 6 replies? ok may as well just spill the beans. it peeked at 524bhp on one of the runs (thats fly HP), but was left at 508bhp as noel advised, and at a lower boost as well, 16psi (although i suspect this has something to do with the weather rather than noel turning the boost down) Its more responsive on the road now, and more importantly smells a lot nicer for those following me and doesn't belch black smoke at people when you hit boost. Ill leave Noel to go into the detail of things as i really have no idea how all this works.

So had a bit of fun with Noel (Noz)
Got to noz today, had a slight over fueling issue that was causing people behind me to have stripped paint on the bonnet, and when ever i put my foot down, i litarally left them in a cloud of black dust. So, considering last time i had my car on a dyno it had slipping clutch and bold tyres plus running rich, it pulled 424.6bhp (engine), its time to do a bit of a guessing game as to what power im now running, now its had a tune. (for those on facebook with me as a friend, please dont ruin it lol) This was just a tune, with out touching the boost controller (well unless noz turned it down slightly lol) Mods are. - Mapped chip from Noz - Nismo 555's - z1 intercoolers - Z1 oil cooler - Custom exhaust with quite large fapping exits and no cats. - HKS cone filter - HKS evc1 boost controller. (was running 18psi when i went up there, was running 16psi on the way back, on high boost settings) - GT525 turbos I have no idea of engine mods (still non the wiser as still have no real history of the car) Let the guessing begin.

Is it just me, or are the general public getting ruder?
well the other day, went to pick my little boy up from nursery, now the nursery is attached to the primary school, the carpark is supposed to be solely for staff and nursery parents, but you get all the damn primary school parents park in there, anyway, i got in and as usual the carpark was full, so i waiting next to 3 cars for around 5 mins (got there early), i noticed a carpark spot directly behind me that became available, so i stuck my reverse light on and reversed up, just as the guy pulled off and i was about to slot into the bay, some dumb ass cow, swung her car almost into the rear of me, and then reversed her self in the bay. F***ing hate shit like that, she didnt even have the courtesy to say sorry, she just got out, seemingly oblivious to what she had just done, even though she was close enough to my car to change my reverse lamp bulb, and trundled off to get her sprog. Also had another woman in there, park her car directly across the face of 3 parking bays that were empty? why she couldnt park in one of those bays is beyond me.

How many smokers on here? Anyone tried E Cigarettes?!
Its working brilliant mate, haven't had a ciggy since i started using it, very strange not wanting to even smoke a real one thats for sure, i already have a better sense of smell, taste, the batteries last around 1 to 2 days depending how often you use it, its fully rebuild-able as well, honestly it was the best thing ive done in ages, as my mate makes up the E-juice, ive asked him to lower the amount of nicotine every now and then, but with out telling me, to slowly ween my self off it for good. I tried those ones that look like real ciggys, with the light up tip, but they not only leave a nasty after taste, but also feels like you are breathing sand paper and leaves you with a sore throat. This one im using, makes you cough for the first couple of goes until you get used to it, doesn't have a after taste, and once you are used to it, is smooth as breathing air.

ENGINE CONT fuse keeps blowing!
I had the same problem , i narrowed mine down the the VVT connector had come away from its plastic clip and had melted its self to the drivers side turbo, so check the VVT solenoid wires coming out of the back of the engine, the clips on mine that secure them were very brittle.

Tagra still leaking after replace
Ive fixed my leak where the targa meets A piller, but its now leaking from what can only be the targa its self, not sure how water gets in to the targa, but its leaking where the plastic end cap is located on the targa side, will get a picture later, hate targa leaks, they are annoying as hell. ive taken my targa apart but still cant see where its coming from, if its had a heavy down poor, and the targa panel is still wet, i have to take it off and drip the water out or i end up with either a soggy arm or a wet leg lol Ive searched countless times, they all say the same fixes, which ive tried, the only thing i haven't tried is a different set of targa panels but its the only leak i have left on mine. Halfords do a black silicone sealant which is what i used to sort out the leak on my Apiller trim at the top near the targa drain hole, BUT do it on a warm / hot day with no rain or it doesnt set correctly and seal.

Anyone else use a VP?
Well been smoking since i was around 15, really wished id never started, anyway noticed a mate kept sticking these strange metallic objects on his wall posts and asked him what it was, he said it was a personal vaporizer, which still left me none the wiser, so a quick google search later and its basically a fancy form of E-Cigarette (electronic Cigarette). It basically mixes propylene glycol which is Commonly referred to as PG and sometimes listed as 'propane-1,2-diol' in research articles, it is an odourless, colourless and slightly sweet organic binding agent. Over 70 years of research has been conducted on PG proving that it is safe for human inhalation over long periods of time and the reason PG is used as the base compound for asthma inhalers, and liquid nicotine and a food flavoring like menthol / chocolate chip cookie, vanilla. It uses a battery, a coil, wick for the basic set up and heats the coil to vaporize the mixture (commonly referred to as e-juice) into a vapor that you inhale, it tastes exactly like what ever flavor was used to mix it with, you still get the nicotine intake, but with out all the harmful chemicals associated with smoking a real ciggy. Well i got it yesterday off the same friend who posted it up, as he had it sitting around doing nothing, supplied me with some e-juice in menthol flavor, some wick, 2 batteries, a new mouth piece and the wire to make the coils. 37 hours later, i have only tried half a ciggy and had to put it out as to be honest, i really didnt like the idea of smoking it any more. Im totally impressed and means i can now get my lungs back, most likely as well be easier to quit all together eventually as ill have broken away from the routine of reaching for a ciggy, the mental break of holding one as well, my clothes wont stink of ciggys any more (although once i moved, i started smoking out side anyway), a few precautions are needed with the liquid though as it is liquid nicotine and as such a poison, so clean hands after handling it, and keep it well and truly out of the way of kids, although the nicotine isnt in its purest forum it could hospitalize a child Its strange, its only been a day and a half and already feel a lot better for it.

Just bought a 300zx and have a few questions!
Why? japan uses the same RON as us, 95 ron here, is the same as 95ron in japan? so why would it make a difference with being an import or not? unless you have imported it from the US, which uses a completely different grading system, but even then, their 95 octane is around our 99 octane Although japans low octane is 89ron, and their high octane is 96 ron (hence the warning sticker), but our cars were designed as stock to run 95ron, all cars are going to run better on higher octane stuff, im just pointing out the fact you are not going to do it any harm with 95 octane either if its a stock engine, unless there is something seriously wrong with it.

Our stock engines were designed to run on 95octaine so they are perfectly happy on that if not much has been done to them. As for his issues, id start by going over the connectors to the engine and giving them a good clean, paying attention to the injectors / coil packs / PTU / CAS unit connections.

Confused
I had the same the first time i took mine down the strip at pod, never done it since, my only guess was too much oil in (had a oil change since then) with hard acceleration, the oil has got sucked into the PCV system and found its way into the plenum and down into the chambers when resting the car on the que lane. Bit worrying to start with, but once it cleared its never come back again so must of been that.

Skint in s****horpe last night channel four
Its assholes like that, that give genuine law abiding people who are struggling to make ends meet yet find them selves living on benefits a bad name. wouldn't surprise me if half the electrical items in the house were stolen, may not be by them but certainly brought knowing they were stolen. Thats what pisses me off the most. i have 2 kids i do not have a partner, i work odd hours just to stay off the dole, its not easy and sometimes ive thought about going on full benefits just until Wesley is at full time school which is next year. but i just don't want the stigma that would go with it. so i struggle my ass off while worrying half the time. I hate idiots like that, they should use the TV evidence and deal with them correctly, though the law is just too soft half the time anyway.

rpm sensor
just take out the bulb that flashes, easiest solution to that. though thats the first time ive heard of the Auto ECU effecting the rev counter on a conversion?

Just so people are aware, rolandas has digital dials installed, rather than the stock analog ones, might be an idea to recheck the wiring for the dials again.

power no ignition
As i just moved closer to the town center, im wondering if a rodent or something has pulled it down, best check the engine bay for signs of rats / mice.

power no ignition
up date on this, you have the main positive from the battery bolted to the rear of the start motor, just down from that you have a negative that clips via one wire into the loom, this wire is held in place on the start motor, by 2 small bendy bits of metal. the fix was relatively easy, disconnect the battery, from under the car, uncurl the bendy bits of metal, put the wire back in place, and bend the bendy bits back over the wire and press down hard, secure the wire and plug it back in, reconnect the battery and job done. Hard to work out how it snagged on something as it wasn't hanging down under the car, i know this as only a day ago i had to cut the cat temp sensor off the car as that was hanging, so specifically made sure to check to see if anything else was dangling about.

power no ignition
Found the issue, seems like something has caught the small wire to the start motor and snapped it in half, glad I broke down at the flat as yet to move my jacks and axle stands - - - Updated - - - Factory manual bud On a plus note, sorted the Targa drain pipe out lol
