  1. bloody hell, the seats were not like that when it went from me, it still had the OEM tweed ones in it, the drivers seat had a plate missing from under it as i caught a speed hump and put a 2 inch gash in the underside that mid wales new about. The engine does run sweet as a nut though, I've got some TT rear brake calipers at mine if yours are seized now. You should of let them MOT it fully and get a full run down of the issues just in case there are more. If you need any help bud, you got my number. Whats the issue with the head lights, as i had one as well, were there was no power feed to the passenger side of the car, so had to sort that out. just have a check of my past posts (very early ones from when i first joined) might give you incite to what to expect. As far as im aware, when i had her back in early 2010, the suspension parts were fine. but from what you said earlier someones raised her back up from her lowering springs, im sure i put a post up at some point detailing all the issues. ill have to see if i can find it.
  2. doubt your giving it enough time to do damage, you get increased ware from cold, but if its only for a few Min's i doubt it would be doing that much to it, i suppose if you did it for over a few years may be. might be an idea to let her warm up though when you do it to give a chance for oil to get around the system every now and then.
  3. Suppose i best put the after pictures up for you as well lol
  4. feels strange, didn't even know you had brought her until i looked at your post earlier, was a good chat matey. as i said bring her down one day and ill go over the bits i know about and see if they have been sorted, if not ill help do them for you.
  5. Engine damage Engine started for the first time after changing it. click the above image for video
  6. as promised matey, pictures from when i had her, might want to check over a few things as i mentioned on the phone and its not a pretty picture of her here but she was in the process of getting sorted out when i swapped her for a black TT. More to follow
  7. well, i figured its best to take the small animals out, saves getting arrested for firing squirrels at passers by.
  8. Mine ain't much smaller bud trust me, I can get my clenched fist in the end of mine with out touching the sides lol, don't go by the pictures in my rides section or sig as that was the old japspeed one I had on it, ooh and they sound awesome too, only problem is in this weather it takes a few miles for the condensation to settle down as they are large pipes to heat lol I'll get a photo tomorrow :)
  9. Repost and looks awesome, he should change the oem bumper though to something that would suit the size more, I'd have them
  10. i think its to help put the traction down on the rear wheels
  11. I've done it twice when they are closed, its not asking for trouble if you take precautions, IE getting your head out the way, hold it with one hand and undo that last bit, it comes out and you can just about slow its rate of extension. just make sure your not looking down the barrel so to speak, then remove the end off the tail gate. common sense goes a long way when your on your own doing things. forgot to add undo the end attached to the inside of the car first. or undo the end on the boot lid that way it springs out facing away from you, just make sure it doesnt hit your rear screen by gaffer taping a towel to it, just dont take too long or the gaffa tape will leave sticky marks on the window that take time to get off.
  12. IIRC the only door switch thats illuminated is the arrow on the drivers side switch, other wise its a mod you can do with some LED's
  13. do it with the boot closed, just make sure your face is well away from its extending properties. as it shoots open (not the boot the rod). to put back on Lift the boot lid and stick it in and start doing it up, helps if you have 2 people for the job to do it safely
  14. she might have to download malwarebytes from another PC, put it on a memory card and put it on to her PC once in safe mode. most virus/malware like that tend to lock most web browsers out so you cant get online.
  15. yep, they are useless in most cases (not going to bash them completely but some are just bloody useless) Had my tools stolen out of my garage back when i got my first zed, still haven't recovered anywhere near the amount of tools i had back then, and they couldn't do bugger all.
  16. Download http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Boot into safe mode (press f8 while booting just past the Post screen) run malwarebytes and do a quick scan it should detect and remove it. restart PC job done. Do your self a favour as well, stay away from dodgy streaming sites, get a decent Virus scanner as well.
  17. id class that as a scam email, why would the met police ask you to pay via email using UKash? (basically a Epayment) http://www.ukash.com/uk/en/alerts/metropolitan-police-virus-scam-%E2%80%93-do-not-send-ukash.aspx
  18. Most welcome, wesley kept waving as you were driving off lol. was good to see you and have a good chat again.
  19. as he said tonight, they will come up with a new theory, as thats why science has a theory about something so it can be adapted to the changes.
  20. was on BBC2, awesome watching him playing with celebs minds lol
  21. anyone watching it? with prof Brian cox.
  22. basically yeah lol Ok fair enough, i understand what you mean. was just thinking about that, just to get it back to basics for him. though it is ultimately his car so would depend what he chooses to do (im sure B&Q would do a T section big enough for that already made)
  23. you cant see that putting a T section in for the maf to sit back on is basically going back to basics once the air filters have been removed? If he removes the air filters, and leaves the pipes they are clipped to, in place, all he needs is a T section to put the maf on, then the air filter on the end, just like the original set up, not that hard. just because a few things have been moved around, my guess is the original way the air comes from the filters, to the turbos and then to the throttle bodies is still pretty much the same.
  24. well, wouldn't go that far, put the T section in that the maf sits on and go back to maf with the pipe work already installed, im on about going stock after on the other side of the radiator. just to get back to basics then change it to how you want. would make more sense then having to figure out what someone else has done. Then once you have finished at least you know how its all plumbed in. So basically, (engine bay side) go stock, then go back to after market set up.
  25. loom with MAF connector is taped up near your air filters (see image), wouldn't take that much to get it back to standard, and i can supply you with all the pictures you need. if your going down the replacement engine route, a breaker with a known working good engine would be the way to go and most likely the more cost effective route as well. you wont be going at it blind, were all here lol You would definitely benefit from starting from standard though.
