  1. i just made two 8 feet ramps tp hook over my ramps and the car still only just clears . once jou get it on the ramps a good high lift trolley jack under the diff so you can get a couple of concrete blocks under the back wheels . its not a nice place to be lying on your back under a car but this will give you about 2 feet between the floor and the bolts
  2. totally mental . i feel sick after watching that . he can sure ride but he aint gonna live long
  3. first thing that springs to mind is to leave the handbrake off . i would also take the wheels off , deflate the tyres and wrap the discs to keep all moisture off them . another precaution would be to make sure its got plenty of antifreeze in so it doesnt turn into an expensive ice cube over the cold months. battery off aswell because a long winter without starting will kill it . a little charge every now and then will keep it fresh.
  4. same thing happened to me a few years back . i was actually sat in the car at the time so jumped out to confront the fella . he denied hitting my car and drove off . i went straight round to the local police station and gave them a statement and his reg plate . their response was because it had happened on private land (multi storey car park ) it was out of their duristiction and would have to be dealt with by my insurance . i wonder if we were in our zeds doing donuts and smoking peace pipes and stellered out of our heads in a multi storey whether the old bill would have the same out of our duristiction attitude. good luck finding the culprit and getting some justice
  5. small penis springs to mind .
  6. no problem mate . good luck on wednesday with the mot . a quick tip for the mot . take it for a run first because the emissions on zeds are high but drop down after a good warm up . if its stood idling for a while before he tests emissions they will rise so if you can give the throttle a few licks before he sticks his pipe up your pipe it helps . lol
  7. in which case its not a fuse . it will be a dirty or broken connector . take the unit out and have a look .put a test lamp on the back of the unit . if this flashes then its the bulb holder that will need a clean up . if it doesnt then there is a fault in the wiring . theres bad or dirty connections all over a zed so my guess is a dirty bulb holder. good luck andy
  8. is it just one or the whole side thats not working
  9. i bet you,ve got one of them little post boxes by the garden gate:taz:
  10. you probably already know this but just incase . DO NOT TOUCH THE BULBS WITH YOUR FINGERS. hold them in tissue and give them a good wipe just incase someone else touched them while packing them up .
  11. hows his ears now stella .
  12. the only way you would get me up there would be if kylie was leading the way in her gold hot pants . i,d be up there like a rat up a drainpipe with my tool bag at the ready
  13. what happens if your up there and you get the stomach cramps . you certainly wouldnt take the chance on a ruby the night before.
  14. pity they are 18,s . ive got some potenzas s-03 s in that size but 17,s . everbody has their favourite tyres but these are probably the best boots you can put on your car . if you can find some of these jane you wont go wrong . came top in all dry and wet weather tests well done for keeping the girl on the black stuff
  15. not sure whether this will be relevant to your problem or not but i was getting hesitation on pullaway but not noticeable at any other time . jefftt checked it over and told me the o2 sensors were weak / playing up and sending dodgy signals . he disconnected them and the hesitation problem stopped .
  16. to be fair if your gonna pull a car plus trailer you need a 4x4 . its not so much the pulling its the stopping . if you had to put the anchors on if its not a braked trailor you will just slide . also there is the nose weight to take into account (the weight of the towing hook on your towbar ). cars are generally 50-75 kg where as a 4x4 is usually about 250kg . maximum tow weights are generally 85% of towing vehicle . when you think a zed is upwards of 1500kg and the trailor is gonna be around 500kg you need a vehicle around 2300kg to pull it . RANGE ROVER TERRITORY. hope this helps
  17. ive just done the center bearing today on my zed . anybody thinking about doing this make sure you have a new 27mm nut for the middle . what a complete PITA getting that thing off . i had to reuse it but christ it was butchered . also make sure you have new gaskets for your exhaust . i managed to buy a kit and make some new ones up but i was lucky that my local car spares place had this in stock , you might not be. one other bit of advice is to make sure you put a really good mark down the shaft for realignment . i just put a couple of little marks on mine and with all the struggling getting the bloody big nut off i scrubbed all my marks so im just hoping its not too much out of balance .
  18. if you use a classic car insurance with limited milage they dont include no claims bonus in the quote so you are free to use it on the other car . its such a rip off how they nail you on your no claims with 2 cars . at the end of the day its you that has the bonus and you can only drive 1 car at a time
  19. you can also disconnect the servo pipe and give it a blow through . if it blows out your servo is knackered
  20. was the engine running when you had it tracked ? i had mine done with engine running and it was shite , went back and turned the engine off and it was fine . with the engine running everytime they adjusted the front the hicas was kicking in and knocking the back out .
  21. i used wynns instant black gasket sealant . comes in a self pump tube and costs about £8 sticks like sh1t to a blanket
  22. if it was mine i,d start with the plugs . get some new uns in there . clean up your injector connectors aswell .
  23. if anybody is looking for mesh for their grill i came across these guys . F.H.BRUNDLE . they have a few trade counters dotted around and have loads to choose from. i got a 1200 x 1200 sheet of expanded aluminium for £16 . enough to do the job about 4 times over. the same stuff in halfrauds is about £25 for a 1000mm x 200mm piece . give them a call on this number to find your local trade counter 0121 327 8999 hope this helps andy
  24. it will be much more fun on the way back after he,s had a fiddle
